They are very powerful. That's undeniable. They were made to be so, however that's not the major problem with them.
The main problem is actually 2 things.
1. The people who have them are usually sweaty tryhards who play and play and play all day, which giving the professional players powerful weapons just furthers the performance gap. The guns are great, but it's mostly the people who use them that are a pain to play against.
2. Matchmaking is incredibly RNG. You never know who you'll be paired against and, when solo-queue, with. The other pinnacle weapons take alot of work, yes, but you don't lose progress with them. You can lose glory points for loss, and due to the extremely RNG nature of matchmaking, individual skill is a moot point. The "git gud" mentality is completely flawed since it's the skill of the TEAM that determines the winner, and since teams are randomly generated, whether you win or not is almost entirely up to RNG. Being good only increases your chances, but doesn't guarantee anything.
Because of this, it is literally entirely possible to never be able to acquire fabled rank. That discourages many people from even attempting it or causes people to just give up hope on it.
The biggest problem here is that progress towards, or away from Fabled rank is up to RNG.

20 отв.Remove loss penalties pre-fabled rank and award no points on losses. Been saying it since this progression system was added.
-
3 отв.With all respect, you are an idiot to think matchmaking is RNG. It’s not. Comp is glory based so it’s not RNG who you are against. In quick play it’s not RNG either. Before a match I can almost tell exactly what the teams will be before a match starts. Even then, the players in the lobby, 9/10 times it’s the same people I’ve played countless times.

2 отв.One thing which I hate the most is that the PvP pinicle weapons are better then the Gambit and PvE weapons (except breakneck).

I solo'd to Fabled just fine and got Recluse. I even found time to obtain Luna. My favorite thing about them was that I actually only needed to rely on my skills. What I abhor about Mountaintop is that 1/3 of the Triumph required to complete the quest is completely RNG I can kill opponents all day long, but multikills are just down to luck. Double and triples rely on opponents that group together so explosions will kill them. It's a shame too, because I really want a mini rocket launcher.
-
Fabled is so incredibly easy to get to now. It's getting past Mythic I that's the real crapshoot. Sorry, but if you can't get to fabled then you're not good enough to deserve the weapon. Hey, fear not though. The Pinnacle weapon this coming season is woefully underwhelming so there's something you can't complain about.
-
I completely disagree. I am a below average PvP player and have managed to get to fabled 2 times solo. The key was setting a goal of getting enough points to utilise the three match buff of 120 points. So this season 1980 was the requirement. When you go in solo YES you are at a disadvantage against teams, but I have had my fair share of stomping teams as a group of solos. Don’t go off alone, follow you are other team mates and help them. If you see someone go off alone follow and support them. After fabled it changes and currently this season my highest rank i’ve got to solo is mythic 1. But the skill gap is huge so i’ve had to bow out going for legend. As for the weapons the only two which are overpowered are lunas/not forgotten. The mountaintop definitely isn’t, there is a huge skill curve which i’m only getting to grips with now...on console which is worse than pc. The recluse is perfection, as you need to get a kill to utilise the perk, unlikely lunas/not forgotten which rewards you for hitting crits which you will inevitably do anyway.

I disagree , with the new point system Fabled is not hard to get to solo. I solo’d all of Luna’s first season it was available at that was way harder than it is now as progress is literally twice as fast with the current point system. Are there times when u run into stacked teams of 3-4 who stomp u..,? Yes of course that happens , but honestly it’s few and far between just grinding to Fabled . Now legend.., that’s a while new ball game.. I got a team and grinded NF and that was still not an easy feat but I’m no godly pvp player by any means and I did it. If u can’t hit Fabled solo then maybe u really do need to hone ur skills before attempting it, the pinnacle weapons are for the better players to get or the extremely determined average players to grind for. I see no problem with the way Comp is set up and honestly like I said before, Fabled at this point in the game is not that hard to get to, even solo. I grinded out Recluse in 1 day solo queuing , so try to learn and get better rather than come on the forums and complain about weapons that are “too hard to get “..

16 отв.IOW, the create a situation where the "Rich get richer. The Poor get crushed, and the Middle gets squeezed." Because you've given the best players both a skill- AND a gear-based advantage. So they slowly render the average player unable to compete....and they become a set of "Golden Handcuffs" for the better players. Forced to play with them, lest they give up that gear-based advantage to other players. The pinnacle weapons are just a bad idea....and they will inevitably have to either be nerfed....or they'll set a permanent meta in concrete.

The matchmaking is a wash. Some bad matchmakes against you and plenty in your favor. If you’re at least decent in comp, you’ll get very close to s 50% win rate which is all you need to get it by attrition. You also get bonus points per week so you can just break even and you’re over +100 for the week due to bonus. I’m average (1.2 k/d) and have soloed both SMG and HC. It’s not as bad as some ppl make it out as long as you know going in that it’s a grind fest.

1 ответThey literally made it 2x easier to get to fabled. It’s a ranking system not a leveling system. If your not good enough to get to fabled why should you get the weapons? There are people that work hard for them.

7 отв.Pinnacle weapons should have not been introduced in the first place, while being interesting in what they were, there is no way to balance them while still allowing them to be slightly above the rest

Playing to win doesn't make you a tryhard if makes you competitive. Most of the people who complain about pinnacles don't even have redrix which is an example of their pure laziness to be unable to get a freebie. I worked hard for my Luna yet they didn't even care about nerfing iy. They did it so people who are of lesser skill than i am(which is terrible because I'm barely 1.00) complained. Next week is going to prove it wasn't the gun its the player and also the same people that don't have pinnacles won't have pinnacles regardless with luna out of the equation they will just go back to blaming something else.

1 ответ💡Many of the so called Tryhards cheat. Lagswitchs and unauthorized mods.

Изменено (SirHeadPoppington): 5/29/2019 2:12:52 PMYou're right that it's all chance but I wouldn't say it's possible to never be able to reach fabled. If there's a chance you just have to keep playing and, according to probability, you'll eventually get there. Also the matchmaking is glory based so it isn't completely random.

20 отв.The true problem with pvp is that if you are a good player you get matched up with a full team of not forgotten players and your team is full of people that seem like they have no clue how pvp works

2 отв.I feel like you're missing the forest for the trees here: The core concept of Destiny's PvP is completely broken. In PvE loot-based RPGs (Which Destiny is, despite the shooting), players are constantly progressing in power. They gain new tools that they can carry forwards into every future battle. It's a very linear sort of power progression. In PvP games, linear power progression is literally the worst. Giving the players with more experience more power is stupid on its face for obvious reasons. Destiny's attempt to thread this needle is the Power Level system, where strict linear power is gained through an arbitrary number while most equipment is roughly equivalent overall (Theoretically, at least.) The problem with this approach is that it's hard to make any new piece of equipment exciting, because it has to be at roughly the same power of its companions. This is why pretty much all end-game rewards are all but cosmetic, and it's why making cool special guns as pinnacle gear falls on its face: It's not possible to make a gun that's both balanced and wildly powerful. Honestly, these kinds of issues are the reason I personally think Destiny's PvP is the worst part of the game. Not because I dislike the actual activity (It's running and gunning from Bungie, it kicks ass), but because its mere existence drags the rest of the game down a whirlpool of compromises and half measures that keeps the game from being as interesting as it can be. Imagine if Borderlands had matchmade PvP. Imagine Diablo with a competitive playlist. It's a ludicrous concept on its face, but that's the game Bungie's tried to make, and it's just kinda continuously... failed.
-
They aren’t that powerful....
-
"oNlY SwEaTy tRYhaRDs cAn rEAch FablED." You want to make a constructive argument against pinnacle PvP weapons go ahead. If you want someone to cry to find your mom. Also matchingmaking isn't RNG it's based on Glory rank, server area, and player population.
-
2100 wasn't the pinnacle and all of the "pinnacle" weapons should have been rewarded for hitting "Legendary" not "Fabled"; much like 21% Delirium and Not Forgotten.
-
3 отв.Bungie needs to really rethink how these weapons are acquired, IMO. Even if bungie is able to fix their atrocious P2P system which leaves players vulnerable to constant DDOSing, there's the paid carries; and those there's no way to stop. Basically, Crucible is just a cheaters -blam!-fest.

14 отв.Изменено (Deathburg3r): 5/28/2019 5:22:49 AMYeah, I hate having to stack in order to win games. Generally speaking solo queuing mostly boils down to myself and another skilled player fighting to kill blueberries faster than one another. I guess I'm in a unique spot where I can use weapons beside NF and see success...but in this position, if I were only using NF then I could see how many of the people I go against would see the NF as too powerful, and many people in my situation DO use it. Honestly, I get sniped more often than I get three tapped by NF. Maybe that's just me. I fear for what may come of the upcoming nerf...sniped

1 ответИзменено (W33DEDPLAGUE): 5/27/2019 7:01:45 PMIt's not rng...if you get a fireteam yourself. If you go in solo, then you get matched with random people, therefore, you are rolling the dice. Regardless of that, plenty of people have soloed to those weapons who aren't great players, myself included, at least I did up to 1600. After that, I decided I needed a team to get the rest of the way and that's what I did. I only get to play 2 hours a night, so the "tryhards being the only ones who can get them" statement just isn't true either.
-
I think this is a very valid concern to have, and with the new changes coming I don’t think they’ll be as dominant and crushing for new players. But you don’t have to be a PvP god to get luna’s howl. Especially with the doubled gains.
-
They were only added to replace trials in the first place.
-
Been on a 27 losing streak. Guess the people who’ve won every game? People using pinnacle loadouts. Mountaintop Luna’s/NF/Recluse 1000 Voices/Colony
