Good evening everybody! This is Aifos coming to you alive with Selene and Levi, from their home, the Fortress of Evil! Say hello, you two!
. . .
Oh yeah. They don’t exist.
Anyway, a wise man once said; “No [game company] needs an idea guy”. That is to say, nobody’s gonna hire you because you have a good game idea, or a great idea on how to balance a game, etc. They want skills that’d actually be helpful to making a game, like developing.
But, we can all dream, and I’m sure we all have those games we wish were real! And that’s what this thread is about! Just, try to be reasonable with your expectations!
Warning; if you some day do actually plan to make it, be a little hesitant about posting it on the internet.
Tl;dr? Here’s my point!
Game ideas you’ve got?
My answer;
This is one I actually posted a while back, but the idea’s grown since then, and that was back in Gaming anyway.
So, without using existing franchises, the game I would want!
Sewn Hearts
~A Whimsical Zombie Love Story~
The game would start out with an undead raid on your village. Being the valiant knight you are, you’d fight them back, eventually coming upon the boss;
A pair of zombies identified as a “Siren-class” and a “Leviathan-class”. You’d strike down the Leviathan (basically a L4D Tank) and then go back to the town.
But, the perspective would shift. You’re not the knight anymore, but the Siren. As the Siren, calling herself “S” at the time being, you’d head back to your Evil Fortress, and ask your necromancer overlord about repairing the Leviathan, who you call “Levi”. He says it’d be more work to repair him rather than just replace, and he’d assign you a new one.
You’d tell him how you didn’t want a new one, but when he wouldn’t budge, you escape with Levi’s body, determined to fix him yourself, and then escape. You name yourself Selene by default (though you can change the name), and begin your rebellion!
The game would mostly follow the Zelda formula. Delve into a dungeon, get an item, use that item to get to the next dungeon, etc.
That, or possibly a 3D Metroidvania, with just the items as opposed to dungeons.
In either case, the “overworld” would be contained entirely within the Evil Fortress, as would the dungeons. All items would be undead themed, too. Keys would be skeleyon keys, your sword a bone sword, grappling hook a ghost hand, bombs kamikaze zombie heads, etc.
Despite the dark themes, the game would be very whimsical, with goofy characters, jokes, and a slightly cartoony style, sort of like the Wind Waker, but more realistic proportions.
‘Course, it’d have its serious moments, too.
Bosses would generally be giant monsters, that require your dungeon item to defeat.
Finally, there’d be 10 dungeons. The first 3 would be getting the pieces to repair Levi, the next 6 would be collecting six macguffins you need to escape, and the last one would be the escape itself.
But that’s all for now, folks! Jambuhbye!

9 отв.I think I’d like to just mention two ideas that I wrote about to myself. The origins of one I’ve forgotten and another came from a trope talk on post apocalypses and the matter of shared world game storytelling. The first one: (a cyberpunk)
A large RPG (with a hint of roguelite) that sets you up as an agent or a combat AI for some form of government organization in a mostly cyberpunk universe. Under official order, you’ve been sent into a city controlled by a megacorp with one objective: break the megacorp apart before they get too powerful. While you’ll appear as a normal human to others, your phyiscal form is just one of many disposable shells. You can give them augments to help you in specific ways, or you take take the barebones form with the bonus of a little theft prevention explosive. You could probably win through attrition, but there is one thing to worry about: If the enemy get wise about you, they might try and capture your shells and study them.
The second one (the post apoc):
In this post apoc, there are two types of people: Immortals, capable of surviving in the most destitute of areas as long as they maintain a machine or phylactery tied to them, and mortals who keep to safe havens and build societies around the immortals machines/phylacteries. You play as one of the immortals. Your community of mortals and immortals is doing alright, but they are in need of supplies from the outside. With the assistance of other immortals, you are to mount expeditions in various hostile areas to scout out good salvage and deal with anything that might threaten your home.
3 отв.Funny enough, the show that mentions how there’s no place for idea people gave me an idea for a twitch integrated game: A game where you go into battle with the assistance of a bunch of robots built by the twitch chat. They vote on the parts and then the weapon the robots are given and then a robot by those specifics is added to your character’s team to assist them!

1 ответИзменено (Panchificus): 5/15/2019 9:47:44 PMI was watching Samurai Jack the other night. Why hasn’t this been made into a game? And if it has, why haven’t I heard of it? Anyways, I was thinking of maybe a 2D side scroller that keeps the same art style of course. Or maybe something that plays similar to sekiro with combat that requires good timing to deflect, dodge and attack. The show has had so many intense fights with awesome villains. I’m sure this game would be easy to make with all the material available already.

1 ответI’d make a VR zombie survival game, ultra realistic. You need to source supplies, build a base and constantly fight of the living dead.

2 отв.I’m thinking of a FPS that combines the Portal gun with Titianfalls movement system with doom’s glory kills and Lots of guns. I call it DERPY’S GAME OF DERPYNESS

4 отв.All of Middle Earth as the open world Fast travel points so you can travel quickly, or rides if you want to enjoy the map, and find loot and secrets on the way. Rides include horses, ponies, boats and wargs. Some of these creatures are exclusive to certain lands. Horses and ponies can be found nearly everywhere, with a few exceptions. Wargs can be found in Gundabad, Angmar and Mordor, along with other evil lands. Boars can be found in the Iron Hills. You can also find untamable rides in the wild. These are used for battles and aesthetics. You can ride them, and direct where they go, but you cannot tame or keep them. These include; the mumakil and eagles. Play as an Elf, Man, Dwarf, Orc, Uruk-Hai, or Hobbit,(minimal customization so as to increase graphics quality). All races have a small influence in their homelands. If you select the race of men, you can choose your race. The races are; Dunlanding. Gondorian. Rohirim. Haradrim. Easterlings. Dunedain. Numenorian You have a skill set. You unlock different skills as you level up. The main skills are; speed, stealth, strength, might, cleverness and courage. These skills have many different sub skills. Such as pick pocketing for stealth. A choose a path system. Dark, light, or in between. You go down certain paths by doing either good or bad deeds. Depending on what path you choose, you will be hunted by other races. If you choose the dark path, you will eventually come to a crossroads; either work your way back to the light, or become a wraith. You can also carry out bounties. You can only kill other players in arenas, and when they have a bounty on their heads. Bounties reward gear, cosmetic items and weapons. Completing certain tasks award certain titles. You can also acquire plans and materials to craft armor and weapons. Plans can be found throughout the world, by defeating powerful enemies, and completing difficult tasks. Materials range from common to legendary. You can recruit different races to bring into battle. You can have multiple races at a time, with a total of 20 warriors. Be careful, because if you have too many of one race, they will start fighting the others. For instance, if 4 of your team are elves, and 16 are orcs, the orcs will attack and try to kill the elves. If you intercede you may be able to stop the fighting, but there’s a chance they will turn on you. The races/clans you can recruit are; Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Uruk-Hai, Trolls(of many varieties:Olog-Hai, cave trolls, etc.), Ents, Hobbits, Woses, Rangers, Dunlandings, Gondorians, Rohirim, Woodsmen, and more. This is the second age, so trolls are not affected by sunlight. Certain breeds of orcs do not like the sun. If they are not well equipped to block it out, they will become irritable, and start fighting each other. There are capitols. These have all the main systems; Npc Trading, Arenas, Forges for smithing, Taming and breeding grounds for mounts, Training grounds for your warriors, bounties and multiplayer trading. There is a multiplayer trading system that works with value. You use furs, jewelry and other items of value to trade. Certain items can be turned in to npc traders for coin. This is the main currency you use in the game. There is also a bartering system, that allows you to try and use other items as currency. For example a dwarf blacksmith might be selling a sword made of mithril, that costs a certain amount of coin. You can try and barter with other items of worth, such as furs. Arenas are certain areas found throughout the lands. Here, you can challenge other players to test their skills. Wins grant special loot not found in the open world. Losses grant a small amount of coin. You can also challenge powerful enemies if you want to recruit them. Defeating them gives you a choice; spare them and make them a powerful ally, or kill them and take their loot. The game itself is set during the second age, before the last alliance. You will encounter characters from the books. Villains like the Názgul, and heroes like Elrond and Gandalf. Titles are granted by completing certain tasks or by going down certain paths. Titles include; Ranger, Hunter, Bounty Hunter, Burglar, Archer and Wraith. Currently I’ve only come up with the advantages and disadvantages of the Wraith title. The Wraith title will grant extreme advantages and disadvantages. Advantages include command of dark creatures (orcs, trolls, wargs and fellbeasts) but disadvantages are also extreme. Bounties on your head are much more common. You take more damage from elven blades and Dunedain blades. Multiplayer, so you can join a team on missions and raids. Weapons include; Bows, crossbows, swords, short swords, knives, axes, dual swords, spears, glaives, pikes, maces, flails and daggers. All of these would have many varieties. Loot rarity will be valued as such; Common. Simple materials like wood and stone. Uncommon. Slightly more valued materials like coal and copper. Rare. Harder to find materials such as iron and gold. Epic. These materials are used for crafting better armor and trading. Legendary. Very hard to find materials such as mithril, and jewels. Ancient. These are extremely hard to find items that have been lost for many years. These include; Artifacts, Heirlooms, and Ancient weapons and armor. You start off with an ancient artifact that brings you back from the grave.(plot armor for how you stay in this game.)These don’t allow you to take zero damage. They simply bring you back from the dead, starting you back at your last fast travel point. All artifacts you equip have this ability. Artifacts come in different varieties, such as; Pendants, Broaches, Pins and Charms. NO RINGS. Each artifact will grant a random boon. Boons include; Extra damage against x type of enemy, faster attacks, faster weapon equip, faster bow firing, swiftness, resistance to x type of damage, extra damage with x type of weapon, and I’ve yet to come up with others. You have multiple armor slots, which can be layered. Mask/hat/helmet. Sleeves/bracers/gauntlets. Shirt/tunic/chest piece. Pants/boots/leg armor. Cloak/hood/ Artifact Quiver(only when bow is equipped) Cosmetic items. Cosmetics include; necklaces, rings, tattoos, wearing(for armor and weapons), paint for armor and weapons, war paint, inlays for armor and weapons, bracelets, inlays for quivers, war paint for mounts and war paint for your warriors. You have four weapon slots. All weapons can be equipped in any slot. Lands cannot be claimed by other factions or players. Boat loads of loot to collect, complete skill customization, frostbite engine. Optional first or third person. The canon will be closer to the books. The appearance of certain characters will be somewhat based off of the movies.

15 отв.An open world RPG where instruments are your weapons. You kill your enemies with music, and try to overcome the ultimate evil, The Minor Chord. Enemies music are darker in tone, while yours is lighter. You can still dodge and do cool body movements like kingdom hearts. You can add other npcs to your party that play different instruments. Idk I'd play a game like that

6 отв.Изменено (StoneFlare21): 5/15/2019 2:48:38 PMThat's such a cool idea, I hope that you're able to turn into something in the future. I have so many game ideas, all based on the stories that I hope to turn into a series of books or short stories (like Edgar Allen Poe). But to save you the torture of reading all my ideas, I'll just post one of the ideas in full detail, which I have been thinking about recently. So you know about that one cliche monster hunter that helps out the gang of troublesome kids (no?...well then stay with me here), what if the story focused on a monster hunter that hunted monsters in an alternate dimension that is similar to ours, but instead there are tons of horrifying monsters that can be found all over the place. You'd play as a high school graduate who aspires to become a monster hunter, despite the warnings from those that you loved. You can choose to work alone, create your own group of hunters, or apply to work for a government faction that specializes in hunting monsters. It'd be 3rd person single player game, and it'd be a stylish 2D without the pixels (kind of styled like the old Zelda games or like Hyper Light Drifter). It'd be a mix of Mass Effect and Persona 5, including a lot of horror elements, but you wouldn't be without weapons to defend yourself with (though they would be limited, similar to Resident Evil 7). The leveling system would increase with each monster you beat, and would increase with experience. The atmosphere in the social world would be similar to Scott Pilgrim (the music would be chill and be a little bouncy and catchy in some areas), but the fighting style aspect would be similar to the Evil Within (the music while hunting a monster would be dark and disturbing, creating an eerie feeling. The music for the actual fight against the monsters would pick up, and be fast and have some elements of heavy metal). The monsters themselves would work like bosses in Dark Souls or Sekiro, where they'd be difficult to beat, but once you identify their attack pattern you'll be able to defeat them. Hunting them would be a challenge as well, since it'd take actual strategy to hunt them down, as they'd try to trick you and lead you to traps that would kill you. You get the choice to kill them, or to capture and release them somewhere far away from civilization.

2 отв.Изменено (shell): 5/15/2019 12:13:40 PMI'm not entirely sure how it would play, but it would have fluid 2D animation (not pixel art!) and a jazzy electroswing soundtrack. Maybe a high-pace platformer with basic but in-depth combat and tough bosses? I realize now I'm just describing Cuphead... but that's not what I had in mind it at all. I was never a big fan of the art style, or the focus on shooting. If anything, it'd look like Skullgirls. Video games need more high quality 2D animation.

9 отв.Изменено (Pyrus): 5/14/2019 10:16:47 PMOkay, I think I might have said this one before but... Imagine a game set in a steampunk setting in a world in the sky with floating islands. I don't have full details of the story I proposed, but basically, your character is this gadgeteer and pilot who can create a wide range of steampunk-based weaponry and suits that the player can use to complete missions as well as a wide range of other things, such as grenades that send enemies flying, Suits that can be used to give the player extra melee power and a steam rocket-powered hammer to smash your foes! You also command your own zeppelin as you depart across the skylands fighting sky pirates, exploring lost ruins and helping fellow civilians. The game will be PC exclusive and will be on Steam.

1 ответTheres a game idea i had where your choices on whether they are good or bad are up to you and you alone. Your choices would be impactful and both choices have equally benifical results but at the same time even worse consequences. My idea (and more into detail) is a futuristic like game (like mass effect in a sense). Where humanity is a founder and head of council of alien races. Humanity through mutations and other issues with having to leave earth has dwindle in population to 10 million. While a sub species of human (mutations) have a population of 100. Being human is extremely important since there is ancient technology that requires only humans to access and the more pure human blood is (no mutation) the more useful they can be. Then there is you, a half breed the looks of a mutant with the blood of a human. The result is that you are able to use human technology with mutant powers. However, there is a race segregation between humans and mutants. The half breeds are used as the humans main military force using powerful ancient technology. Allowing one soldier to change the course of battle but there is only few that exist (10,000). Your choices decide whether to let other species die (billions of aliens and mutants) or save humanity from extinction by sacrificing them.

6 отв.A dark souls game with the amount of content of Skyrim. Though that would be a bad idea because my life would be ruined by it and I would drop out of high school

1 ответMy idea is a co-op 3rd person shooter that you play with a buddy, similar to how A Way Out works. The game would be both online and split-screen compatible, with maybe a single-player mode where one character is controlled by an ai. In this game, you play as two warrior agent dudes who have drastically different roles. The first, Alpha, is a large, tanky, and slow fighter. Alpha holds all the weapons of the two, guns that you would find in a normal shooter like assault rifles, snipers, shotguns, lmgs, smgs, grenade launchers, rpgs, grenades, etc. The second character, Omega, would have virtually nothing but a knife and could only hold 1-2 weapons. This character is a lighter and faster assassin type character. Guns could be thrown at enemies and to your teammate, so Alpha could supply Omega with weapons and stuff. However, Omega doesn't have as much health, so Alpha could take on a multitude of enemies head-on, while Omega is more adept at singling out targets and sneaking around. Omega depends on Alpha for weapons, but Omega has special movement abilities such as a doible jump or wall ride that allows him to access hard-to-reach areas. Storywise, the game would be pretty simple, delivering something generic but not too boring. It would have some wit to it, as the game will revolve around the two players rather than the in-game story. Levels would have lots of variation, i would not want one set formula that every level goes through. You would have your typical linear shooter levels, horde type levels, levels where the players would seperate, maybe water levels and dungeon type levels. The game would allow the players to approach it how they wanted to, by stealth or brute force, or maybe a combination of the two. There would be a few enviromental hazards such as exploding barrels or falling crates, but nothing too crazy. There would also be the inclusion of an endless waves mode and a 1v1 mode. The overrall tone would be lighthearted and chill, but also have a few difficult spots to test the players' cooperation and skill in battle. I would want it to be the kinda game that you play everytime you go to a friend's house until you both complete it.

1 ответI think I’ve mentioned this game in the past, but I’ll say it again: a Wild West styled TBRPG centered around six-shooters. You’d have yourself a group with a standard revolver for each of them; Six shots, single action. In a manner similar to Bravely Default, each character can choose how many shots they want to fire. Firing once almost guarantees a hit but won’t do as much damage as say, unloading the thing. So maybe you’ll try and pop off two or three. Maybe you’ll fan the hammer and fire off all six at once. Either way, the more rounds you fire will mean the less effort your characters out into aiming. Maybe there’d also be something about reloading the gun for a turn when emptied but that’s questionable. Later on your character could pick up either some techniques to let them do more when firing certain amounts of rounds or more revolvers that might have different gimmicks.

1 ответИзменено (dr obvious2535): 5/14/2019 10:19:18 PMBasically a Forza Horizon game but instead of stupid crap like buying houses there’d be actual customization. Some ideas: -emphasis on car sound -features like turn signals, headlight kits, and lots of body kits, hood scoops, and underglow for the ricers -maybe not realistic, but the ability to then upload any car to the game, thus the game will have a basically unlimited car roster -the ability to put any engine in any car -maybe even a feature that lets you export sketches from design programs into the game? -also there’d be loads of new events, like real street races with obstacles and everything, or maybe an event where you’re given 10k to buy and build a car then compete -instead of one country, there’d be a showcase of areas from all around the world -instead of upgrading everything in the engine category, there’d be a more technical way to achieve the best performance and many different ways to get there (or you can let the computer do it for you) Granted, there wouldn’t be much room for other Forza games, so I propose DLC’s in the form of new locations and events. You shouldn’t have to by anything besides the game to drive all of the cars (my main complaint with Forza currently) Basically it’s the game we all want but nobody can make

1 ответI want a warhammer 40,000 game that lets you recreate the scale of battles seen in the books that mixes strategy and FPS elements and lets you alternate between the two On the strategic side you control your forces from an overhead view in standard RTS style, for the FPS portion you can take control of a customizable commander unit and give orders to units in proximity of you
-
1 ответI came up with this idea a while back but it's just such a fun idea. So in the beginning of the story you are tasked with clearing a taint from the world that's been corrupting everything. Early on you get introduced to this heroic character that aids you in the first few battles and he's just simply incredible. As the story progresses the heroic individual steadily becomes less and less frequent and weaker with each passing battle, forcing you to rely more and more on yourself. Near the end as you are charging the source of all evil, you find him at the end, basically falling apart as his body is mutilated by a darkness that he knew was festering within him, but he was trying to bring down as many as he could before he succumbed. In his last wish he begs you to finish him as his mind becomes taken over by the corruption and then the battle between you and him begins.
