Bungie, as a bear I feel that Destiny 2 often presents animals in a degrading way...
Before I begin, this is not a joke. I am part of the Furry Fandom and self identify as a bear. I am a boy bear.
I recently began playing destiny 2 about a week ago (I've never played D1). I enjoy it. The game play is smooth and responsive, and the story is interesting. I think I might even become a major fan of the game. However, I feel that your game uses many themes and tropes that portray animals in a negative way. I dont blame you specifically for this, its a problem prevalent throughout the entertainment industry, and I believe the issue stems from the profit potential of the male fantasy. But thats another topic. The only reason I bring all this up, is because you seem like a progressive developer that is tuned into the needs of marginalized groups, which as a furry I am a part of.
So let me explain the aspects of the game that offend me. Specifically, it is your use of "beast" as a characteristic of the Fallen and Cabal. Bestial themes have long been used as devices to evoke fear and loathing in an audience. It can have powerful effect. But as humanity has progressed to the current age, we have gradually become more aware of minority perspectives and identities that do not conform to patriarchal, male-centric social norms. As a furry and self identified bear, I find it disturbing that a game I enjoy forces me to engage as enemies, other creatures with which I share animalistic traits.
For example, the Cabal. They are big, burly, and gruff. And while their physiology seems almost reptilian (specifically turtle like), their exceptional strength, size, and voice is very much like a bear. Why are these traits that need to be feared? I am big. I have a deep voice. But my heart is as big as my body and as deep as my voice. Also, consider the Fallen. They are furtive, sneaking, and fierce. Almost catlike. One could even venture so far as to call the dregs "cute" when they aren't shooting at you. I have many friends that are cats. My two best friends in high school were species fluid like myself, and considered themselves cats. When I pursue the Fallen, I can't help but feel a sense of anxiety as I slaughter creatures that have the characteristics of real life people I actually love. This makes the game difficult, but not unplayable. I know it is fictional.
I hope you don't consider my critique as a complaint. I just wanted to add my own unique perspective as a furry and member of the bearkind. I cant wait to keep playing, and discover the secrets that Destiny 2 holds. Thanks!

As a boy snake, I have strong urges. Like I said, I'm a cunning critter. But when I see a pretty girl sometimes I feel so much energy. The closest I could call what I feel is "the need to reproduce". For me, it happens a lot in spring. But since I'm cunning, I get all the girls. 7. I'm kind of a small snake. A skinny snake in fact. Sometimes my small body is ignored and I feel lonely. But inside I know I'm not. These are some of the biggest things that make me a proud part of Snakekind. Someday I hope to meet a real snake, and we can find a big burrow and shed our skin. I'm not trying to be obnoxious, just share what makes me the animal I am. Oh, and I also have a turtle side to my personality, but I'll save that for another time. 3 отв.Wow, social conditioning at its finest. Change your filter and search for more truth. Your “opinion” is based on a false rhetoric and filtered “victim” perspective. Change your filter and perspective = different outcome and perspective. The “choice” is yours. Btw, have no problem with what you are or what you identify with. However, if you’re upset about bears and how they are portrayed (even tho there are no bears in this game) , go into the mountains, camp out in bear territory near a MAMA BEAR and her cubs, and tell me what behavior she instinctively exhibits. Has zero to do with the false narrative of “patriarchy”. No offense but do some more balanced researched and formulate your OWN opinion if that’s possible.

1 ответIm happy you are a bear, i dont have a problem with people being and doing what they want. I do have problems with people shoving their ideas on other groups. Im sorry you feel bad about killing dregs ( cats) and cabal (bear turtles). Pretty sure in the context of a the game they are groups that have attacked the earth and mankind to eradicate them. In the context of the game we didn't go out looking for these groups they came to us initially. This is a game to be enjoyed, it wasn't made to be a social statement on eradicating turtles,bears and cats. But as in all things in the world, their swill always be a group that finds the hidden message in anything. This is not a personal attack on you and your choices, you be you. But let people just enjoy a game, for what it is a game.

5 отв.listen bud, i couldnt give a f^ck less if you come out as a furry and wear costumes and stuff. if you like to watch furry porn on the down low, go for it i dont care. but if you eat bread crust for breakfast every day so you could grow a little chest hair and claim youre a bear, then proceed to say that as you judge videogames that dont cater towards your furry fantasies or dont have anything to do with bears, than im gonna have to kindly ask you to leave.

7 отв.IDENTIFYING as a bear is NOT being a furry. Thats called an Otherkin. A furry doesn't legitimately identify as an animal and believe that they are that animal. A furry is someone who takes on the persona of an animal but again doesn't identify as one. Just want to make sure you have your facts straight, this is coming from someone who's been a furry for quite some time.

1 ответI have to say, you argued your point brilliantly - but you still lost me on the details. The traits you described (of the fallen) are purely behavioural and you had to make rather far-fetched connections to include them, while with the cabal I see your point. Except for the fact that they are giant military space turtles that are basically made soldiers from birth who want to rule the galaxy. Just a different perspective. Also, don’t let the ‘anti-furry’ comments get to you. They’re just small-minded non-accepting people who don’t understand. I know what it’s like to feel like you don’t fit into your own being, and don’t let anyone make you feel that way. Because it’s really not fun. At all.
