Moral Question
So I gave this question to Ringleader yesterday, and I thought it would be interesting to see what other people say. Answer it seriously, and explain why.
Let’s say a city is starving with only a little bit of food left (and you are desperate). Do you exile or execute people to free up the rations or keep it the way it is, potentially killing everybody and opening up the way for crimes like cannibalism?

Objective Survive: in this situation Cannibalism would be the easiest thing to do, who to kill for it would be a tough decision if their are criminals that have a good quality of meat in the town it would be an obvious choice. But in the case that there isn't any criminals at the time, kill the least valuable person, It'll be hard morally but it's better than being raided by the Exiled or executing those that might show value and we can keep fighting starvation for longer than only using what little rations we have.

So for me personally I think the best, or in this case the least terrible, option would be to exile a large enough group to free up rations to keep at least some of the people in the city alive. The issue then comes in as to how you choose who to exile. So I'd start with criminals first and hope that got me to where I wanted to be.

1 ответGet really, really strict on the law and go full grim dark, executing for crimes that would otherwise be considered minor offenses and use them as fertilizer for a bountiful unholy harvest.

You feed the people who are most likely to be capable of leaving the city and returning with more food. So if it's like a medieval city, people who are good hunters, scroungers, wilderness survivors, etc. You give them food to stay active and healthy to go hunt and bring back more, while everyone at home spreads the food as thin as possible to make it last. If it's a more modern culture where there isn't a lot of hunting and gathering avilable, then the types of people you would give a lot of food to would be different, but the concept would be the same. A few people going out to find more food get very well fed while everyone else rations and waits.

3 отв.“Greater good” scenarios are always interesting. The trolley problem. Kill the few to save the many always seems like the most logical solution if it’s an “in the moment” kind of thing and so I tend to lean towards that.

2 отв.Kill just enough to survive. Personally, I would kill the week/elderly/useless, so we have a better chance of surviving. But I can understand some people just killing completely randomly

I would exile people who have done wrong and execute those that did wrong in a way to attempt to hurt everyone.

2 отв.Exiling people is only a short-term fix, but killing them (and than eating them) is the long-term one so I'll do with that one.
