It was a glitch where players attempting to pick up their pinnacle weapon reward could pick it up an unlimited amount of times. Dismantling it would give you 7 cores per weapon dismantled.
It's been stopped. Nobody can get any pinnacle weapon until it's patched.

Yeah, it is. But, for some reason, I'm not surprised. If you are in software quality testing, you really should get a job at Bungie. Probably the most secure job on the planet. Literally CAN'T get fired there.
