As the title says, I would play comp for hours in a day to get up to 2100 points and beyond but as there isn’t, I play roughly 5 matches a week as the thought of falling back to zero points is too much.
I like to state first of all though, I am a below average player but I try and I always try to get better in every match I play. I also (although I don’t agree with doubling loss points) don’t want loss points removed - Loss Points has to stay within comp or there s no difference between comp and Quickplay.
When doing Vanguard/Gambit Pinnacles and Service Revolver, I grinder for hours because it was all about progression, there was no fear of something going wrong where I had to start at the very beginning. I could get to a quarter of the way through and positively say to myself, I am almost there now - I cannot do this with Lunas Quest. I am under 800 but instead of thinking, I’m more than a third through this, I’m thinking, if I play one more I could lose and then I’m further away from 2100.... so I simp,y, don’t p,at.
Please do not mistake me asking for Sub-Rank/Ranking Locks as a way of making it easier, because it isn’t! I am still going to have to win matches, I am still going to have to win against much better players - but at least I have a safety net and hope! I can go on a string of losses but I won’t end up back at zero points - so I can say to myself, right, lost 5 matches I’m back at beginning of Brave II, time for a smoke and a cuppa, then I’m getting back on that horse and I’m going to get to Brave III. Instead it’s, okay I’m done for the week - I’m going to wait til Reset and get the bonus points then I will play 3-5 matches and leave it at that for the week.
Last week, played 4 and lost all 4 - I started with 900 points and ended I think with 660 points? This week I played 5 matches, lost 3 and I’m on 776 points so I have only gained 116 points - not much progression there at all. But this week though, I played relatively well, in one match lost I had 27 opponents defeated but I noticed I was playing against people on the rank above - not sub-Rank above. I was round about 800 points and couple I played against were 1100 and 1200 points? I thought with comp, you only played against those within the same rank?
So again, it’s not about making it easier - it’s about giving players like myself some hope and belief.
EDIT: There was a comment made about how I and others don’t care and how we don’t want to put effort in - it bothers me, because that is far from the truth.
I care about doing this quest, I care that I do it best I can and I am more than willing to put the effort in but not under the current system. I could play 8 hours a day, and still have less points than what I started out on. I would easily play 8 hours a day, 7 days a week but not when there is a system that does not reward my time and where my progress can be massively damaged!
If I didn’t care nor willing to put effort in, then I simply wouldn’t do it or I pay someone to do it! The fact I’m asking for one change to be made from Bungie, and I would then be willing to put all my time in comp (Least most of it) shows I care and that I’m willing!
I know Gambit is different to comp, but bear with me please - I am working on my 15th Reset, why? Because apart from Legend Rank, you are rewarded for your time and each game you play there is progress and you see that progress so it motivates you to continue. Even when I lose, I still have the motivation but I’m not asking that comp rewards you when you lose, no, I don’t want Glory Loss Points to go - what I’m getting at is, Comp does not have that motivating side to it, if you are losing you don’t want to keep going cause You worry that all that progress, all those points will disappear and you will be back at zero. So, you stop and you wait til Reset, then you play your 3 games - now it shouldn’t be like that, you should be wanting to play game after game after game but for many, that will never happen under this current system and this must be affecting comp playerbase in general and it cannot be good for game!

127 отв.Team is currently looking at this feedback. The introduction of rank floors is something that we looked at prior to Season of the Drifter, but we sadly didn’t have the resources available to implement and test. Will look into this later in the week to see where it’s sitting on the QOL backlog. Thanks!

😃😃😃 I have Luna but it was a pain. Would love this for future guardians Please one SUPER DUPER HELPFUL FOR SOLOS thing. Please oh pleat let us have the OPTION TO STAY W EACH OTHER AS A TEAM. This is available in past games and would help, well I would play gambit and comp so much more. Solve half my issues W the other as above Plus AoS 140's etc hand cannons on console Crucible would be so balanced

7 отв.I am on the same page. Been up and down from 800 to 1200... only play a few a week trying to see who I am up against that night. Am I matchmade against 5000 + points guardians whom I cannot compete against or playing ppl my level where I stand a chance? But the fear of losing points every game frustrates me to the point of losing patience with the game and not enjoying it. Which is why after 3-5 games weekly I revert back to good old PvE content. I want those pinnacle weapons too, Recluse being at the top of my list. I have the 100 wins for the progress bar but I will not hit Fabled... that I am sure of. There should be a way for average players to grind these weapons as well; not just the content creators and top pros. I will not pay someone to hijack my account as well just to get the guns. My account/privacy is more important to me than a gun! I really do enjoy every other aspect of this game, even with some flaws here in there. The game has changed my life. But I am sad about comp hidding behind it these rewards that cannot be achieved.

2 отв.I got Luna’s earlier this week. I told myself if I lost 2 games in a row I’d stop and try again the next day. I also watched out and backed out when 4 stacks joined march making
-
If you want to get better at PvP ignore glory points and focus on improving, you'll get points when you get better, and if you were locked in a "league" you don't belong skill wise you'd just ruin the games for everyone else. No one got good over night.
-
Agreed, I have playing a ton of comp in the last week. Up to Brave 3, down to 1, up to 3, down to one. I don’t mind grinding for a great reward but I am not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel.
-
Yeah I support the idea. A rank floor would help a lot of people out and bring light to the competitive playlist.
-
This makes sense. A rank floor would be enough to entice me to finally put some serious effort into comp.
-
I went from 1650 to 1000 in 2 days due to horrible match ups and solo queuing. Sucks.

5 отв.My personal OPINION... Is that until you hit 2100, you should be unable to lose more points than you started the week at. Start the week at 1008? You can lose every match alll week long and it won't go down past 1008. Manage to get up to 1440? As soon as the game resets next tuesday, that's your new floor, no sinking past 1440. Sure you might get a win streak and then end up losing all that headway... But you won't lose more than you started with. Now. Everything changes once you get to 2100. Once you hit that mark, you absolutely can lose back down to zero points. Because the max rank of comp is supposed to be restricted. But 2100 should be an obtainable goal not just for stacked teams and try hards but for also anyone willing to dedicate the time. Especially considering that the "pinnacle" weapons that people earn from reaching that level are weapons that you are going to have to compete against even if you don't have access to them right now. If they're designed to be better than other weapons, it doesn't help balance if people who are "Supposed" better players, also have better weapons than what you have access to. Just saying. But that said.................................................................................... Prepare to start screaming... I think these need to be the last round of pinnacle weapons. Because the existence of these weapons is going to result in Bungie being incapable of buffing under-performing weapons because it makes this or that pinnacle weapon too strong, and people will freak out about nerfing a weapon "WE WORKED FOR!!!!!"... With every new pinnacle weapon, they're making it harder and harder to buff standard equipment. If nothing else, all pinnacle weapons need to exist outside of the normal "frame/rpm" system. Instead of recluse being a light weight frame have it be it's own thing entirely. Instead of Luna's Forgotten being a precision frame 180 hand cannon, it needs to be it's own thing, maybe a 170 frame (yeah lower it's ttk slightly) and remove bloom to counter it... If they keep adding these pinnacle weapons, they need to exist completely outside the current rpm systems. They need to each be their own thing so that bungie can deal with balance without having to nerf or break the pinnacle weapons.

I only think it should have a lock up to a point. I would say maybe you cannot drop below Heroic 1 once you have hit that rank. Fabled should still require somewhat consistent win-streaks and Legend should NEVER be accessible to the vast majority of players. I know it sounds elitist, but not everyone deserves every reward.

2 отв.Изменено (SAVAG3 B3AR): 4/9/2019 2:06:43 PM100% agree.

I support this idea. Comp isn't truly comp. The connections are not stable, people quit, and even if you have a fireteam you can still get Ddosed (especially at higher ranks). Having a safety net to catch you when you fall doesn't make the climb easier. You still have to pick yourself up and climb if you want to reach the top; also, the net doesn't completely eliminate the issues you'll run into (the ones I mentioned above).
-
like i keep saying, comp should be random player matches only (solo only)everyone in teams are all randoms, everyone be on the same level of fairness, its the only fair way to do this and have a better chance at moving up for everyone, id play alot more then i am now.
-
1 ответAlso, have to give the OP praise. His post isn’t a massive cry baby session, it is honest and well thought out. And I’m my opinion his idea is a fair one for the community that loves and plays this game.
-
1 ответThis is an absolutely brilliant idea
-
To everyone who is saying not to cave into this and to those who genuinely earned their Luna I understand. I remember earning malfeasance and then Bungie changed it and made it easier. But in comp and especially with Luna there is so much paid carry garbage going on that it really doesn’t matter at this point. You earned it and can take pride in that, the rest doesn’t matter. If creating a subfloor progression system makes it better in the whole community while taking a huge cut out of the full time paid carry player bs then in all for it. Those players that do this full time and get paid to do it just to get someone else a weapon is making it miserable and somewhat impossible for the honest ones that love this game.
-
Agreed it is dumb it is so dependant on everyone else and not yourself. I get in and play and do well and you have people who quit or don’t even load in and then that impacts me the player trying to finish a challenge. It should always and only be about the individual because I paid for this game which now I can’t even get the weapons I want because of a dumb set up by Bungie that impacts me the player who paid for this game. There are to many people who either are not that good or are not even playing and that should not affect my progress it should only affect them.

1 ответИзменено ($hirtless Captain Kirk): 4/7/2019 5:53:41 PMYeah we've consistently kind of had this forward progress with backward progress mechanic in Destiny in some shape or form. There's things like the OG Thorn quest but I also think about things like Trials of Osiris and Trials of the nine, and Glory Rank systems. I think history shows that anything tied to wins in Destiny with potential backward progress is just basically AIDS. It has nothing to do with your individual skill or your ability or anything like that. It has more to do with the general toxicity of this community and the lengths people will go to in order to obtain said loot. I think in general these systems need to be tuned just a little bit to remove the elitist element from them and completely remove that element from the game, the community, and the narrative. For example Glory rank or maybe trials type loot. It should definitely be something you have to work hard for, grind your ass off for, and perform well to complete. At the same time I do not think there should be a mechanic in place that sets you back when you're super reliant on things that are completely out of your control. To sum it up I honestly think that a bit of a participation award is needed in these cases and we cannot keep going with the idea that such an idea is being lame or other dumb shit like "git gud." That's just childish and solves nothing. Case in point Luna's howl. I just obtained the gun myself recently solo along with Recluse. So I'm fully capable of obtaining these weapons. Went flawless on both games many many times. The problem I see is that I know players out there that are also capable of doing this. They often hit a brick wall because of things like account recoveries, stacked teams that want to deny people loot, ddosing Network malfeasance, and all kinds of things like this. Budgie needs to just accept these things as a fact and a universal constant in Destinyand adjust the Pinnacle weapons and things of that nature to account for this. Period. I say make things win TALLY based. Like you gotta win 100 games, but once you win 30, you're not going down to 29. Otherwise we're just going to keep doing this hamster wheel of bullshit that it's been since like D1 trials where people are getting frustrated and pissed off and they don't feel like they're working towards something. They feel like they're digging their own grave in Destiny or something. That's the only thing that makes sense in Destiny. History proves it.

3 отв.It's normal to be put against higher rank teams. I used to get matched against teams using not forgotten and that was before I even reached fabled. Best to just grit your teeth and deal with it, fun doesn't exist in competitive play. That's not to say I'd like things changed. Comp should be grueling.
-
2 отв.I personally know five people that play this game with me making six. Five of us share OP's sentiment of fear of losing all progress, so we dont play. The sixth guy pays for the pinnacle weapons every season by having other players play on his account...
-
Agree with this. I rarely play comp and when I do decide to play, after 2/3 straight wins I'm thrown against a team of sweats which is a guaranteed loss.. surely there's a better mechanic you can use to "match make" than just aimlessly throwing two teams together and expecting it to be fun for both sides.
-
1 ответTotally agree. Couldn't have said it better.
-
I agree. I have no problem losing glory for losing games, but it would be so nice to have checkpoints. Sometimes things are out of our control, like matchmaking. I am right around an average player in this game, and I had 1700 glory the other day. I played comp for a few hours, and had the worst string of luck with matchmaking i have ever had. 17 matches, 3 wins. This started off with a 7 game losing streak! Every match was against hardcore sweaty players, with no one competent on my team, myself included, and none of the other teams were 4 stacks. Most of the time it is about a 50/50 mix. I get a few games like that, a few games where the sweaties are on my team, and a few games where both sides are evenly matched. It was just awful, and i didn't have a good time at all. Even worse, my glory dropped down to 1000. I'm not complaining that i lost to better players. I understand that is going to happen, and i tip my hat! I know that the grind will be a struggle for me, but it would be nice to have something to help protect against poor luck matchmaking luck like that from completely ruining our experiences. I worked hard and played my best, trying to be improve my skills to be better in order to get to 1700. It's frustrating to have all of that progress lost just because of the randomness of a stretch of matchmaking.

2 отв.I try to solo grind comp to fabled each season. Needed some team mate help for the last 2 wins since I was running into more and more dodgy connections and 3 vs 4s. I think there should be some deduction for loses as that’s the point of it being competitive but within reason. Loses should be 50% of the win points. Loss streaks shouldn’t multiply. A cap on moving backwards beyond ranks should exist (i.e. fabled to heroic not heroic III to heroic II). Just my thoughts
-
3 отв.At this point if you do not have erentil, Lunas Howl, and a god roll dust rock- my advice is to not even think about comp. I have helped my brother to get his Luna's this wee ( this account) and it was miserable because he didnt have these weapons.
