There have been a ton of “Nerf Jotunn posts lately. To anyone who thinks it should be nerfed, let me ask you a few questions.
Have you tried it yourself?
It’s not that hard to get. The tracking is terrible. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to shoot at somebody and completely miss because they moved a meter to the right. The charge time is really bad also. Unless you’re constantly charging up, most fights will end up with you being dead.
Are you being smart?
Seriously, are you playing well? Are you paying attention to your radar? Are you watching the other player? Are you moving out of the way when the enemies gun starts making a bright orange light? Do you check players inventories before the game? I can’t tell you how helpful this is. Knowing who has wardcliff, who has Lh, and who has Jotunn is incredibly helpful.
Have you considered what people [b]aren’t[/b] using when they use Jotunn?
Because they have Jotunn, that means no Luna’s, no wardcliff, no Ace, no Tlw.
Sorry for the rant post, but all these nerf posts have made me kinda mad. If I had to some up all the counters to Jotunn in two words, they would be

6 отв.No matter what the gun (other than hearts) you should never need to actively avoid a player just because they have it. Luna you can stay at a distance, same with recluse. NF is iffy. There is literally no counter play to a jotunn if the person using it is good. If someone misses you it isn’t because you dodged it it’s because the person using it is so bad they failed to hit a tracking OHK proxy Det nade.

1 ответJotuun is not op. It’s op vs players who don’t have good maneuverability. Flat footed players, crouch walkers, corner campers, and hardscoping campers are the ones that want Jotuun nerfed.

7 отв.It needs a nerf at least in gambit. It shouldn't be able to 1 shot an invader with an over shield. Maybe bring them down to 1 or 2 shots from an auto rifle, but not 1 shot an over shield imo. And I don't even invade. I feel dirty every single time I kill an invader that way.

weapons arent the problem...we dont need more nerfs that hurt pve...the entire pvp is the problem. peer to peer pvp will always be flawed and unbalanced...all legit pvp games have dedicated servers

Don’t give me this shit that it’s easily avoided, you cant watch everyone all the time. It’s a 1 hit special weapon that require zero skill to use.

Honestly once you identify who is using a Jotunn, it's not that hard to literally just jump out of the way of it if you're playing aware.

I've never really seen a problem with it, and this is coming from someone that posted an embarrassing number of posts about how stupid Telesto used to be. I don't use it because I can't deal with only having two bullets and like you said, its kind of a gamble as to whether its going to track your opponent or not. It's honestly perfectly fine where its at imo. It's powerful but not overpowered. They hit a nice balance with the way it works. People seem to get confused between when something is annoying to get killed by and something is truly OP. Telesto in season 4 was completely, absurdly OP. Jotunn is just annoying to get killed by.

Tbh I thought it was originally a heavy weapon. If it became a heavy (with higher damage both burn and impact) then it would be even more interesting to use. I think it’s fine as is but if they increased the charge time it would compensate for its ease of use. That way if you miss there’s not the high chance of a follow up shot.

All I want changed is the fact that it one shots invaders. Being sniped by a jotunn from behind a rock while invading feels like garbage.

And, even then I got kills on Hunters when they weren't as keen on timing. Its a weapon that effectively farms people with low skill/inability to react. It may be easy to say "just dodge" but some people are too engrossed with a fight and there's literally no way for them to dodge. I will also say that, though it does require some finesse to learn (the charge time was ever so slightly longer than I originally thought), the ability to insta-kill coupled with tracking is still a bit too good for non-hunters to be able to efficiently dodge.

As someone who came back into the game about a month ago I feel the gun is too potent. But before I continue, no I don't have it myself. So here what I mean. This is a high damage fusion rifle that shoots a single shot without any damage fall off, and has the ability to track targets from long distances. While I don't think it over powered, it too strong for what it does. No other fusion can do what it is capable of, and if it wasn't strong you wouldn't see many people using in the crucible. The problem I see is it's utility, not it's damage. If I were to change the gun I'd increase the charge rate to 900, and add damage drop off. That way you have to commit to the gun and not try to kill something from a rediculous range.

2 отв.Nah dude, it is okay to admit the gun is at least a little OP. I used it and it is pretty easy to get kills with. I don't know about moving a little to dodge nonsense. Doesn't work that easy for me. I used it for a while, then it started feeling cheap, so I stopped. May bring it to comp if I ever go back. It is okay to admit when guns are strong.

My only requested nerf is that it gets moved to the Heavy Spot. You gotta admit. It kicks the shit outta 99% of Specials.

Yeah we don't need more nerfs - I have used jotun n while it's fun I find I trade more times than not - prefer using telesto lol!

1 ответIt's the only non heavy where you can just shoot in the general direction of the enemies and get multi kills.

I don’t have the gun myself but have easily dodged it with a simple jump or hunter dodge. It seems perfectly fine in its current state.

I haven’t seen a nerf Jotunn thread since the first few weeks it got released. It doesn’t need a nerf anyway, it’s pretty easy to dodge and if they’re using Jotunn it means they can’t use Lunas

Did you get angry at the constant spamming of telesto? Did you get angry at everyone using nova warp? Do you get angry at getting absolutely DESTROYED by it in gambit and crucible? If you feel no rage, you are a robot.
