Well, Bungie, you did it. You killed Warlocks.
Final Edit: It seems I wasn't clear enough. Nova Warp needed a nerf. I think it went too far as a nerf, however. Again, I'm a Stormcaller main. Warlocks have a useless class ability in PvP, they have poor maneuverability, and in this recent update the only thing that got a substantial buff was a shutdown super, and even then it's still not great, it's only more viable. This is not a conversation about Nova Warp. This is a discussion about Warlocks as a whole.
I know Titan and Hunter mains are going to down vote me into oblivion but this needs to be said.
The least used class in crucible just got the heaviest nerf I've seen in my life (60% charge cost, PLUS 6.8 seconds shaved off? Are you serious?) AND got the laziest buffs out of everything listed. Three seconds for Dawnblade is actually nothing. You might as well have said you don't want to tweak it. And an extra target for Stormcaller is absurd because nobody stands that close together in such a large group, it doesn't make sense.
The other two classes got substantial buffs, and are in really good spots. Factor in exotics and they're sitting pretty at the top. All three roaming supers for Warlocks are now trash in comparison.
The nerfs to NW were taken WAY too far. You'll be hard pressed to get more than two kills with it now. Top tree Dawnblade needs a full rework (Icarus Dash is useless. It needs to dodge further. Fighting in the air with Wings of SD is just putting a target on your face). Stormcaller needs more range, or armor, or damage. Something.
If you need any proof, look at the numbers. Warlocks are the least used class in crucible by a long shot. You need to do something about it, Bungie.
Edit: This post is focused directly on roaming supers. I'm aware Nova Bomb was buffed and tuned. Please stop bringing it up.
Edit 2: I'm for Nova Warp getting nerfed. I'm not happy with how far it went. I'm unhappy with how little the other subclasses got. Stop trolling about NW.
Edit 3: Stormcaller main here. Seriously, cut it out with the comments about crutching Nova Warp. You're not offering anything other than toxicity. Yes, I have used Nova Warp. But my primary class has been Stormcaller since TTK.

I completely agree. I love the concept of destiny and am loving the story of beyond light. but everyone knows the game itself and endgame is all about crucible. PVP. I gave up on Trials long ago (Hackers). But crucible itself is so fun and all of the game modes so exciting. me and my friends get so excited winning and getting beat in good fair games. but when it comes to balancing, this game is so unfair in so many ways. I honestly think the developers dont even play the game after they make changes apon what the players talk about in forums. This last hotfix did it for warlocks of course. From getting rid of the 30% damage buff from the void grenade last season, to ruining the freeze from the new stasis, to the exotics no where near as exciting as the hunter or titans. The melee doesnt kill, it just freezes. and yet everyone elses can insta kill. the freeze doesnt last long enough to do anything anymore and hunters can now insta dodge out of every situation with mobility that makes Them some of the best in crucible without even needing hacks, easily. even the titan can insta melee. and the only way to beat anything is to use the meta weapon available that season. which is now handcannons again. Balancing leads to diversity. fun. a change up from the norm. if i cant even use the weapons i want and the abilities i want without being complete trash, its no fun at all... and about the super...... our super lasts long to get the freeze as it goes down then burst to get a kill.... every cast wastes it so length of it being available isnt long at all and you might get one or two kills before its over now with tight grouping... but seriously, supers are trump cards, they should be last second beasts. why nerf to where its useless. i understand the nerf but not that drastically. i understand differences but balancing is the biggest issue.

Day 18 of celebrating the nova warp nerf. By the way, it may have been a harsh nerf, maybe too harsh, but I have a feeling people would have complained anyway and said that "Warlocks are useless now!" regardless if it wasnt overnerfed, because destiny players are just [i]that[/i] entitled on these forums

I play a lot of PvP on a warlock main and I do decently got lunas etc so I feel I'm not absolute trash, but from an open minded perspective cuz I play the other two classes every week as well, warlock exotics are garbage in crucible, I use ophidian aspects because there really isn't much else even close to viable in PvP. Transversive steps have their moments, but compared to the other classes PvP exotics I.E shards of galanor, gwisin vest, one eyed mask, might as well be wearing a legendary. They just simply can't compete, its flat out sad TBH. Yeah titans and hunters generally perform better in crucible, but its not hard when u can get targeting through walls, overshields, and a damage buff for winning a gun fight. Or spectral blade for 2 minutes😂😂 like I said before I play all 3 classes 650 on all, and I'm not saying nerf these exotics mentioned above, just kinda wondering why the Warlocks didnt receive something in the same tier as those other exotics. Be real here, their jump is the worst, basically a sitting duck in PvP if u jump, blink is lame in this game, and u nerf the only good super we had? The one thing that kinda helped us even out the playing field, and that didn't last long at all😂 ill admit it was pretty over powered, but c'mon bungie throw us a bone lol. Trash exotics, trash supers, trash super buffs even, like why play a warlock at all? Balance them out, make them even with the other classes in crucible. Right now Warlocks in my opinion are at a disadvantage due to not only the lack of viable PvP exotics, but all the supers are trash compared to literally any other tree of any subclass of the other two characters.

I agree with needing more buffs for some things... But dawnblade is very good... So is chaos reach... And now nova bomb is pretty good... Check cam my cakes video on forsaken supers... And warp isn’t useless you just can’t ape now... You still have your 1hit ko mininova which can give you health and more energy... And the super is now balanced... Now the duration is in line with others... With pretty good super ignoring duration... [spoiler]perhaps you could join the void...[/spoiler]

I literally have zero exotics for the other classes, because I really don't play them. This is too much to stomach. I won't come back until they have reversed the changes. And if they refuse, well, it's been fun Guardians. I'm not waiting 4 - 6 months for their next update, nor will I pay another $40 to $50 for any new expansions that will have extra abilities, that they will just nerf into the ground a few months later. I don't think Bungie is being mean or malicious about this. I honestly believe that they just don't have the talent for this type of game. It's obvious that the competent ones have already left the company (I mean, they can't even fix the most BASIC of mechanics, like bringing the warlock melee up to the SAME SPEED as the other classes. This should really be a common sense fix. This right here is definitive proof that they don't play the game). Meanwhile, I'm still seeing supers in crucible that last 45 seconds or more and can double team wipe like it's a walk in the park. Hunters literally have no competition anymore. I'm not angry, just really sad at what this game has become. Really, really, sad. Anyway, plenty of new games on the horizon (that new Storm class in Anthem is insane by the way. I finally have my power fantasy back.)

5 отв.Classes should be a choice not a desire. I will always be a Titan because I chose it. I knew nothing about the classes when I chose. I will never change my choice, regardless if things change for better or worse. Now with that out of the way, Warlocks are hurting right now, so good luck out there.

3 отв.Stormcaller extra chain is useless for ? Let me ask you... What about the Shuro Chi adds? What about Calus adds? How useful is a golden gun there? Everything good in PVP, is not very useful in PVE. Reverse is also true. If hunters can get off max 6 kills with Golden Gun, Titans can smash a team, then there's no reason a Warlock should nova warp a team at A and then teleport to the other side of the map at B and wipe them out again.

5 отв.Tried Nova warp in some strikes last night, yeah it's shit now, again PvP dictates balance in a PvE game, GG bungie. So sick of the nerf everything due to PvP mentality, it's never going to be balanced so don't know why they keep hurting the main portion of the game.

Oh yeah, I believe that Nova Warp nerf was completely over the top. Warranted to be taken down a peg, as even I think that was kinda nuts to team wipe multiple times in a match. We do have options in Dawnblade, and a bit with the Stormcaller trees. But this is my personal opinion: [b]fellow Warlocks, just stay out of PvP.[/b] It's easier to deal with it that way, less stress, less angry, and most of all... I really dont think it's worth the complaining if clearly they did this and dont plan to change it anytime soon judging by past history. Just relax, play some games you forgot about go outside, hell, I dunno, do something than punish yourselves with torment that isnt needed to be endured.

2 отв.I stepped into Mayhem as a Warlock, it felt like nothing happened to Blade Barrage, and Golden Gun is now even better than it was. Dawnblade is effectively the same. Nova Bomb still sucks. You can now tickle one extra person you don’t end up killing with stormtrance, and Nova Warp is unusable. They might as well have just said, “This is the screw Warlocks patch.”

Nova warp got hit way too hard with little to no compensation by buffing the other subclasses. NW wasn’t any more of a problem than spectral blades was and it’s still going strong.

2 отв.1 word. Dawnblade. It's very good. I main it. I have been maining it even when nova warp was completely busted. I prefer it. I can counter basically any super with backpedaling and throwing 2 swords.

8 отв.If you play a Warlock in PVP your playing PVP in Hard Mode Hunters are the easy button in PVP. They have everything they need and that's why you see more hunters in PVP than any other class. Titans are second and OEM makes them good. Warlocks have been relegated to being a PVE class because of the nerfs. Nova Bomb still sucks in PVP, Dawnblade takes skill where other classes are point and shoot stupid easy supers to use, and NV got nerfed into unusable. NV was simply over nerfed. My guess is, and Bungie I know sees the numbers, the numbers using NV have fallen off the cliff. Since the nerf I have seen 1, as in single Warlock using NW. It all Dawnblade and some NB. I have seen no drop in BB at all.

They took the nova warp and spectral blades and gave it to the striker titan’s code of the juggernaut.
