There is an obvious divide online in the fanbase between people who despise the repetitive nature of Destiny's farming activities and those who apparently praise the company for making certain items relatively impossible to come by. The funny thing is the latter argument is something like "powerful items should be harder to come by." However, EP's IKELOS drops are all random so somebody who is Light Level 350 who can't even damage the adds from EP Level 5 can just sit on their hands and wait for the boss to die at the end and get lucky with a powerful weapon drop. Escalation Protocol drops are not rewards for people who can "clear hardest content". They are rewards for sheer luck not skill. Listen to me and try to allow this information to formulate in your brain. If you're powerful enough to grind through all 7 levels of Escalation Protocol and beat the boss multiple times (try 70), then the drop rate should be so much damned higher fo you than the 350 scrub next to you. A player with a higher level character (or three) who has completed the Mars campaign, adventures, and the quest-lines for Polaris Lance and Sleeper Simulant should be frickin' guaranteed a drop when fighting the correct boss. At the very least, someone who is Level 50 at Light Level 580 should get a guaranteed drop. Games that reward luck are bait for Gambling Addicts. If you're fine with the luck-based nature of this activity, then good for you. But don't try to claim that this reserves high-value rewards for the better-skilled players when clearly skill level plays absolutely no role in its acquisition. TL;DR (IKELOS drop rate needs to be patched to better represent players' skill level and dedication of time.)
