I'm a titan main, ok.
I always will be and because I prefer it so much I have a strong bias for them.
I've sunk many hours into Destiny 1 and I can't help but feel like titans are just bland now.
This could very easily be because I've just played that particular class for too long, but all the things I originally enjoyed about the titans seems to have just vanished.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy my titan, but I can't help but feel like they just don't do anything unique anymore.
Maybe it's because of how similar the subclasses are, in terms of perks, but the class as a whole just feels lackluster or boring.
Not saying titans are bad in any shape or form, just that they don't really interest me as much anymore.
The things I liked about titans was the bubble.
Bubble was a unique and an unbelievably useful super for any activity there was.
Sentinel still has bubble, but it's watered down, and almost useless to use.
"Its situational," yeah, but it only being useful for one very specific situation AT THE COST of my whole super makes it feel wasted as a perk.
The fact that near nobody uses it supports how pointless it is to use.
"But sentinels the only subclass in the game withb2 supers," yeah that is true, but both of them are lackluster in many ways because of it.
Sentinel can't put out as a much ad control as striker or sunbreaker and has no good ways to deal dps.
It can block, but blocking bullets when your own allies can break the shield really makes it useless.
That's right, allied fire can break your shield or more quickly drain it's duration if accidentally shot at.
The lift.
I know a lot of people found titan skating unfair, and at times I totally agree, but there were beneficial uses to it that allowed the class to fully utilize it's more melee focused style and titans losing it ultimately makes them harder to utilize their abilities to their best potential.
I'm not saying they should add it in now, but if bungie ever tries to get the game back to Destiny 1 levels, it has to come back, otherwise the titans in both pve and PvP, will have no good way of getting in or getting out of combat.
People call them tanks, but I actually disagree with that ideology.
They are more like shock troopers.
They are designed to either hold out an area or go in guns blazing.
Even Fabian strategy, the titan exclusive exotic, paired with the shotgun, fully expresses this idea.
You either defend, or go in and take out everything you can before dying, and isn't that how titans act, in both super and out of It?
We're not tanks, were suicide soldiers, designed to die trying and try and again, and again.
The melee.
The melee isn't particularly bad, I just don't think it's good.
In pve, titans have such risky melee that sometimes offer no reward or even death for doing so.
They tried to counteract this by adding in health regen perks for titans, except in pve these perks become near pointless in endgame activities.
Sunbreaker's is fine because you don't need to kill with melee (not that the charged melee could kill anyways) and you can use any ability.
Cauterize, or whatever it's called in Destiny 2, is probably the single best perk titans have.
Even double grenade I wouldn't consider as good as cauterize, not even close.
So what does this leave for our more melee oriented class?
Our melees lose nearly all effectiveness in terms of raw power in more endgame activities, so then we have the opposite skill trees that don't have melee that deal extra damage, and you are just left with a bad mix and match of both.
Lacking melee power, lacking melee perks.
In crucible, these perks and melees are more effective, but that's the only thing I can really say about them.
Melee is weak in PvP, so those perks are clunkier to use.
I'm not necessarily saying bungie needs to give us all these things back, but by bungie taking them away, a lot of their power and uniqueness have disappeared because of it.
What are they good at besides supporting their allies with a barricade or throwing some good hammers?
In crucible they are more like not good, but definitely not bad, but rather a middle ground where a good player can make it work but ultimately lacks properly utility for crucible itself.
And that's ok, titans weren't designed to be effective in crucible.
They are almost solely pve focused with how they are designed.
And I like it like that, but I still can't help but feel that now they are just lacking as a whole.
They lack the tools that used to make them effective to use in ways the other classes weren't.
Sorry about the long post.
Just felt like getting my opinion out there.
Quick question:
Why doesn't code of the juggernaut...have juggernaut?
Edit:
Thank you for the support.
It's nice to see I'm not the only one who feels this way about their classes...although I wish it didn't start a class war...

5 отв.One word : Hammers Nothing fills the void quite like a flaming hot hammer right to the cranium of unsuspecting Hunters and Warlocks.
-
1 ответWould've made sense if aggressor had juggernaut 😐

4 отв.Изменено (BERSEKAEL): 6/5/2018 2:11:08 PMoh the titans... the class that: -can't tank -Shortest melee range -gets supressed by his own nades -ones had a bubble -cant skate anymore ..in fact, cant blink neither triple jump -and on top, most useless exotics
I main Defender
-
2 отв.Maybe, yeah. Arcstrider and Nightstalker are both really good for PvE and PvP and Hunters have really good exotics. Gunslinger could probably use some help though. At this rate, the subclass should just be called Nighthawk since that's all it's good for. Honestly, all three Warlock subclasses are pretty good. Stormtrance could maybe use a damage buff in PvE though. All I hear Titans being used for is Melting Point now. Titan exotics aren't that great either. Rally Barricade is useless thanks to Lunafaction Boots.

finally someone who understands that titans aren't tanks!

Изменено (N1NJ4W4RR10R_): 6/6/2018 4:14:54 AMYup. Shoulder charge nerf was stupid. Why make it replace melee, giving it one change as well as making it a (slow) 2 hit. Also pretty heavily effected by the sub class changes. I loved the overshield on sentinel, but I vastly prefer the aggressive tree. Cant use both...did I say I hate the sentinels shoulder charge? Also, mags are crap. Strikers shoulda stuck to the one super good slam. Sunbreakers...I like the new shard one tbh. I reckon it beats d1, just unfortunate nades were nerfed...and that melting point is now a shoulder charge.

I love my titan, have mained titan since the beta. But i keep feeling like it is my least useful class to use. It has gotten to the point where some people i raid with think i am a hunter main because i use my hunter more often so that i can help groups out a lot more. And from what i have seen about the new super that is coming, i am sad to say that it doesnt look promising. Warlocks get a laser/ dragon ball Z super, hunters get to do things like rapid fire throwing knives and zip about, mean while titans get yet another hammer, but this time we smack with it rather than throw itc yay how exciting.

I’ve been following this all day and just finally have to agree with everything you’ve said Titans needs a rework of some sort Are grenades are terrible now (besides suppression but who uses sentinel in pvp?) Our melee is subpar Our exotics honestly don’t bring anything to the table like wormhusk or lunni Barricade? Nope warlocks now do that better Let’s be honest all I’m seeing in the reveal today as followed a big ass hammer that spawns tornadoes that’ll probably only be good for Pve- Only saying this because it’s roaming and based off agility which we basically don’t have the jump or kit currently to keep up with the other two. Teleporting warlocks at stupid fast speed that have an AOE burst that’ll teleport past our hammer swing and burst right on top of us, Hunters shadow teleportation mixed with arc blade - Striker gets DFA which looks to me like a huge leap then landing short if done wrong - And Defender bubble might be back to its D1 power with a possibility to shoot out from? I know I’m wrong In complaining about this but I’ve been a Titan since the closed Alpha of D1 and the current state we are in is just abysmal GIVE US SOMETHING

2 отв.Just came to support OP i have been saying this to my clan for a long time, most of them main hunters then warlocks and just palm me off, I knew i wasnt going crazy.

3 отв.Изменено (Ghostfire239): 6/6/2018 4:57:19 AMI agree 100%. Titans have become quite bland. They need a Sentinel and Ward of Dawn buff and they need better exotics. Same goes for Warlocks. TBH almost everything could use a proper buff.
-
I miss the old defender titan

2 отв.Изменено (The_Nystro): 6/6/2018 5:10:28 PMIt is annoying that they took Weapons of light, then rally, and gave both to Warlocks in their Class ability/exotic boots

1 ответI don't care about anything else I just want Skating and Garrison back. But I wouldn't mind that stupid delay taken off of lightning grenades.
-
6 отв.I agree. Titan has been watered down. D1 crucible with friends I would love to run arc and just keep moving like a frickin great white shark waiting on the next kill. It was very much a high risk high reward situation. Often out of the gate I was the first to die because I am heading straight into enemy territory. However, more often than not one of my teammates would be getting the short end of a stick and here I came out of left gate to shoulder slam the shit out of someone. Or, if I could see multiples fast enough a nicely timed fist o hate and I could get several at a time. Now, shoulder charge just aint what it used to be. Yeah I know all the hate spewed over it. No one else had a OHK (orly? what about hunters blade to the head). People who didn't run a titan did not understand that OHK came at great risk and great loss. More often I would die trying to pull it off, than I would kill, but you know what? IT WAS FUN! I enjoy D2, but honestly I am not having as much fun as I had in D1.
-
2 отв.Honestly didn’t even seem that sick for hunters either. It really seems that warlocks get the best of everything.
-
Did you see the transition of Hunters and Titans from D1 and D2? They got the life sucked out of them, they’re supers and abilities aren’t fun to use. Warlocks got upgraded a lot. Dawnblade is ridiculous.
-
4 отв.This mindless train of scrambled thought has too many errors for me to bear. D2 titans feel bland now because they started so incredibly over powered. Hunter abilities are still not quite there. They seem so good because they started so bad. Titan skating was never meant to be. It makes melee attacks way to easy to use. The heaviest class moving the fastest makes no sense. Having armor, recovery and speed is not balanced. The only exception is headstrong for Strikers. That does its job. Titan skating is way too much, especially with people that are good at it. Not that skating is hard but whatever. Paired with aerial evasion and simply landing and skating again gives way too much agility. Being able to run from literally any super besides maybe Golden Gun as the heaviest class makes no sense. Titans weren't meant to be good with pvp? They've been the best choice for pretty much the whole duration of Destiny. All of D2 and all of Destiny after Year 1. They've had all kinds of panic devices, the best grenades, double grenades, easiest supers to use, as you said, titan skating with melee attacks, overall the easiest class to play and the best abilities. Not sure where that came from. The worst part about all this is that everybody complained about Arc Blade in Destiny. People thought it was op and too easy to use. Now that you have the same thing but better in D2, now it's bland and weak? Missed me.
-
No, but many who play them have become whiny bitches.
-
Just see the number of hunters in PvP....you can tell, Titan is not a loved one at Bungie.
-
1 ответИзменено (Rikudo Osatsu): 6/6/2018 1:54:03 PMYou titans are now paying for your sins. Skating at high speed with juggernaut shield and the matador 64, shoulder charge cheese tactics, cancerous double lightning grenades. The list goes on.
-
3 отв.No they're evidently just weak willed as evidenced by these threads and the agreeing replies.
-
2 отв.YOU TAKIN THE PISS

1 ответI think the main problem with titans is subclass variations. I feel like the hunter subclasses all have a distinctive vibe and theme, while the titan ones are all just: tanky guy hits stuff hard, especially with sentinel replacing bubble. Hopefully the new supers will address this and add more depth. ps. titans can one shot melee in pvp tho ;)
-
Изменено (pig-golem): 6/6/2018 1:09:30 PMThat's what you get you panic fisting bastards
-
I hate the fact that shoulder Charge can't be spammed now but also it deals little damage and consumes a melee charge. I don't know the raw numbers but I know I can OHK a psion with no melee charged but I cant OHK the same psion with shoulder charge. Or even if you have the "subtree" thing that isn't shoulder charge still you don't kill it.
-
1 ответHow you feeling about the new class supers (especially for titan)?
