The Only Way to Fix Destiny
The series has come to the point in community backlash where it needs to be taken offline. Bungie needs to consolidate. Come together, look in the mirror and say yup... We screwed up big time... Subsequently, the game should be taken offline. And enter a reboot development time.
Drop the number "2" from the title. Give it a classic reboot name, just like FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. At this point. The team should be given ample time to develop complex systems catering to fun gameplay, competitive edges, working sandboxes, and a hefty open beta experience. The game needs time to cook. And these developers need the help of the community. I cannot, neigh... WE cannot let such a great back story continue on without reaching its maximum potential.
I sincerely hope someone from Bungie reads this. It won't happen. I know it won't. But the best thing to do is recreate everything.

Upvote the crap out of this like Reddit did. 15.7k people upvoted a similar post to this. If anything they need to say "Guys, we screwed up. We plan on finishing up the updates to D2 with the second expansion but plan on releasing the Fall expansion onto Destiny 1 and continue updating the game there. Destiny 2 will not be considered a sequel, it is in this universe a 'spin-off' event. We have learned some things you enjoyed in D2 and plan on updating the sandbox of D1 with these ideas. The fall expansion will be free for those with a working copy of Destiny 2 on your hard drive. PC players, we plan on later down the line releasing a up to date version of Destiny 1 alongside the Fall release of the expansion. It will be a full priced $60 game but all content will be included that is up to date with consoles. We are sorry that we failed to live up to what we created in D1, and have decided to support Destiny with no planned sequels for the next few years."

6 отв.As long as the "lead developer" continues to believe his "vision" for the franchise is "working as intended" there will be NO major changes to Destiny 2. D2 will either end up like The Division where after at least a year the game will be palatable to players or D2 will end up like ME:A and just fade away into obscurity. Either way, DO NOT expect any quick miracles to "fix" D2.

Bungie has a PR problem at the moment because they tried to rebrand the game, and alienated the PVE player base....and that PR player base isn't going quietly. Sort of like the girlfriend you break up with, who just refuses to go away, and keeps bad mouthing you to all your friends. But don't confuse that PR problem for a "dying game". Because Destiny 2 isn't going anywhere....and the people trying to jam up this forum with shit-posts aren't the people showing up to play the game every day.

2 отв.This is great but you are correct, it won't happen. The sandbox team think they hit it outta the park. The slow mobility, abilities, weakened weapons, longer ttk, all weapons equal, power levels don't really matter, nothing to want for because it's all the same. PVE non raid endgame all speed runs because enemies have to be weak enough to one shot or drive past with the weakened PVP weapon loadout.

6 отв.I think another studio needs to basically come up with the EXACT same game concept and simply make it better. Bungie won't do it and it's up to somebody else to do a better job...

I’ve also linked the research mentioned in the vid. You can clearly see why today RNG loot boxes are being rammed down our throats. Anyone who defends this practice when targeted at kids not to mention vulnerable adults should think twice imo.

7 отв.The better option when it comes to re-branding a title would be to hide the numerical value. For example when Destiny 3 comes out it should be visually represented as three lines rising to meet the three points of the Destiny icon. And if they do plan to reboot the franchise they should start the timeline in a much earlier date. Perhaps during the War of Twilight Gap, The newly risen guardians will find themselves behind enemy lines. Allowing them to stir up trouble giving the City Guardians a chance to push forward.
