Everyone is missing the point. Warframe gives you more freedom in customization and the only reason there are micro-transaction to get it faster is because it is F2P. Triple A games that cost $60, like Destiny, should not be using the same model. You already paid, they should not be restrictive in their customization system. Which the new shader system is.

I tried warframe.. and it held my interest for a short time.. I got frustrated with it. Its full of microtransactions to grind, the making of guns and things in the foundry or whatever it was takes hours to DAYS to make anything.. and thats real time hours and days. It was complete turn off. The game was interesting.. but it was not for me.

And warframe charges you to unlock all the colors for your frame...... colors! And if you want a new frame you have to grind three different blueprints and develop them for 12 hours and than once that is done it takes 3 f*cking days for your warframe to be crafted! But you could always pay money to get it instantly. I am not fond of microtransactions but at least in destiny it doesn't take 4 days for me to use something else

No, Warframe is free to download and play [i]but[/i] the business model of the game heavily promotes the use of the game's cash-shop. Platinum is queen in that game, and the ability to trade goods to acquire said currency is extremely limited at the early account stage(MR 0-6), hence a strong temptation to spend money. It is certainly not required, but there is absolutely a strong incentive to do so. Last I checked, I was Mastery Rank 21. [spoiler]A measure of how much a player has involved themselves in the game, like maxing out all weapons and characters. I believe current max rank is 24 right now.[/spoiler]I haven't played since a bit after Banshee Prime (Bansheeframeisbestframe), and I can attest that the early game is very rough to start up in. Late-game (MR 11+) is a much different experience than early game.

But hey, at least Pyramid ships are maybe finally going to be in the game (after 3 years and a DLC paywall). There are good youtube videos that compare the two games but you'll never convince destiny fans. Bungie could poop in a bucket and the fanboys would still eat it up exclaiming in was the best filet mignon they'd ever had.

Free, true if you're patient. However In Warframe you play a powerful Space Ninja. In Destiny 2 you play one of the hundreds of grunts that pulls out a primary and gets insta-killed by that Space Ninja.

Have you EVER tried to farm ivara? Nidus? Atlas? Endless grinding if you have terrible RNG. Oh, want more than a handful of frames? Guess what, extra weapon and frame spots require the use of PLAT which is the same as SILVER. Yes you can grind for stuff and sell for plat but how long does that take you to firstly, grind for the relics, then grind for the void traces if you run out and need to make a relic radiant, then farm the frame parts to then hold on to a frame until you get a reasonable buyer because people are cheap. Are we playing the same warframe game? And you are bitching about a game that when you get a helmet you dont need to farm for parts to build the helmet to then set it in the build for 24 hrs and then have to wait 48 hrs to fully wear the suit. Im sticking with D2

If you are the type who enjoys doing more grinding than a belt sander just to get anywhere in a game (or enjoys paying real money to skip said grind), then Warframe is the game for you. I'm sure many of the people around here who are bemoaning the lack of grind in D2 would love it. Myself, I happen to like the fact that I've already got D2 to a point where I only need to play it a couple days a week and can spend the rest of my gaming time on other games. This whole game-monogamy thing that many of you practice just isn't natural.

Then go play Warframe and be done with Destiny.

Ok I have officially had enough of this Warframe nonsense. Does it rise above expectations as a free to play game, yes, that is not disputed. However, that doesn't mean it's a great game in and of itself, and it also doesn't mean that it's better than Destiny. Let us also not pretend that this game was created out of the goodness of some developers heart and that they have no interest in money or profit. Because that is straight bs. The grind in Warframe is brutal, for a reason. It's so players can get impatient and literally spend hundreds, and yes I mean hundreds, on actual Warframes, skins, weapons, ships, you name it. And it is all overpriced. For the money one spends on two Warframes, one could purchase an entire game and get more bang for their buck. Including Destiny. Could you grind for these items, sure, but who in their right mind is going to spend 1000 hours in a game to acquire the multiple amount of components required to build a Warframe, weapon, or Prime Warframe? Not many. They are going to buy it. And I find it incredibly ironic that the same people who bitch constantly about pay to win, and that everything should be earned by playing the game, and blah, blah, have absolutely no problem with Warframes market system. Because this is actually a case where you can purchase weapons and armor. And just because most people do not play pvp in this game doesn't mean it's not in the game. And this is clearly a case that according to most of these people, where it gives players a clear advantage in power level, fashion frame, leveling up, etc, if you pay for it. Also, the game is not that good. Gameplay is meh, nothing exciting. There is lag, it drops frames on a consistent basis, enemies are spongy, the third person mechanics are too fast, there is too much going on, on the screen to even have some sort of proper orientation half the time, the missions are repetitive, same thing Destiny is accused of having, there is no context, the story is locked behind some weird, complex leveling system, there is no flow in it, the director UI is clunky and unhelpful, and I already know what the fanboys are going to say, '' It's really not that hard to get into and figure out, blah, blah.'' But it's not a question of hard or easy, it's you are the developer, it's your job to lead me on a journey with context that makes sense. It's not for me to have to sit there and mindlessly stare at my director wondering what the heck it is you are trying to convey through your game. Warframe tells no story that doesn't require hundreds of hours of gameplay and loads of patience. I have a good amount of gametime in it and I honestly couldn't tell you what is going on or why it matters. All I know is I'm a space Ninja and I have to go kill aliens that I know nothing about, for little pieces of gear that I could simply buy. There is more than I could get into believe me. The mod system is weird and difficult to figure out, the social hub is boring, the weapons are nothing to write home about, and the actual Warframes have the same personality as that of Guardians, the personality of a toaster. Not saying it's a bad game, but stop making this thing out to be the next KOTOR, because it an't. It's ok at best. In my opinion one step below Destiny. So please, enough. If you love it, go play it. But stop with the undeserved praise and misguided comparisons to Destiny.

I enjoy Warframe... but it also... feels free. No offense to the great dev team. I think its an awesome game... But there is a reason for the discrepancy.
