Tldr: my confidence to purchase day one has been shaken. I'm not angry. I'm not expecting anything. I just can only judge what I've played. Directors admitting ignorance doesn't inspire confidence.
Many of us got the beta to test the gameplay not your network testing. This is twice now you've claimed it's a months old build and you didn't even remember what you shipped in it now?
How am I supposed to have any confidence in the final product? Me like many are judging the game based on the beta you gave us not your claims of what has changed. You lost that trust long ago.
And you wonder why preorders are waning.
Edit: for those who can't read between the lines the beta and PR from bungie has taken away my confidence in the game so I will not be purchasing day one and waiting for reviews. This is just why. Bungie has proved over and over their word can't be trusted.
Edit 2: to those still assuming I expected a final or current build I do not. I simply judge the game by first hand experience not promises or marketing which bungie has proven cannot be trusted.

5 отв.I have to agree. Bungie, after 3 years of destiny and all the ridiculous network problems you had, did you learn nothing? After 3 years, you still have to test networking? Wow. Thats just laughable. How are you still in business? Oh yeah! You lie to people and trick them to get their money.

71 отв.Appreciate the feedback. Yes, network testing was a big goal for the Beta. We want to make sure the game is ready for prime time at launch. We also wanted to let you get an idea of what the gameplay is like. No, as with all Betas, it's not a final product and some things will change at launch. I actually thought wow bungie are adding more of an environmental danger to pve. It didn't take long with my Titan, warlock got hammered by the turbines a little bit. Didn't think too hard about it, then see they got nerfed? Lol really, bungie desperate to hold the casual players hand through d2.

1 ответI agree, you can only screw up so many times until people lose faith in their product. Bungie is committed to making their own franchise look like garbage. All the fan boys are acting like every thing is just fine as usual. I'll be laughing when they get their new shiny game and the player count pulls a for Honor and commits seppuku a few months down the road.

2 отв.I seriously can't believe that the turbines where that big a problem for people. Took only a second attempt to figure out where to jump to and how to run to avoid those slow moving things..... But I agree, being told that beta was that old and having Luke Smith make that comment just increased my fears for the game. I still think the biggest cut was when he and mark noseworthy revealed how messed up the story telling for d1 was, especially the line about Exo Stranger being wrapped up

Playstation wouldn't refund my 100$. It took the horrible Beta for me to realize the rehashed, watered down goop I was pre-ordering.

4 отв.the 2 turbines problem could easily be solved if guardians ran faster. The fact that they have solved it by removing one turbine, likely the top one so you can jump over the bottom one, suggests that they do not plan to increase guardians run speed.

So many ads and background scripts shoved into each and every page that it generally crashes a browser window a time or two before you can read the article. And the amount and quality of information contained would generally embarrass your average Buzzfeed article which is really a low bar to shoot for. 'The build is old, and we changed something between beta and release'. Umm...yeah, that's how the software development life cycle works, in case anyone didn't know; you deploy an old, but known-stable build to the environment, and collect data from usage. I got more useful information reading the vulgar phrases my coworkers had made with the word magnets on our fridge while getting morning coffee than I did from this article. If this caused you to cancel a preorder, you either don't understand how the SDLC works, or you're a jumpy consumer type. It was literally the statement, 'Yep, business as usual for a developer'. I swear people are reaching for anything to cancel or dislike the game...have your opinion, sure, but don't make up a fire where there's not even really smoke, IMO. Software shops, mine included do this exact same thing all the time.

Like it's our fault they are misleading and don't act with integrity. Hell he even said there was 2 and surely remember taking out 3. I have no words to describe the nonsense this company spews in the name of loving and respecting its fans. I can't believe anyone can continue to defend them. What do they have to do to make some fans begin to doubt them is beyond me.

Instead it was "Pre-order now and get early beta access" and "Please come to the feedback section and give us detailed concerns and any constructive criticisms you have". The former being honest, the latter not so much. Why do you want feedback on a build that you later admit has been changed, yet don't disclose any of the said changes? I don't have a problem helping test servers or whatever as a consumer but I think it's more than fair to disclose what I'm getting, especially since I pre-ordered solely to get the early access so I could share the experience with my friends. It's even worse that the beta build was (IMO) terrible. The beta build being outdated is ok, but March 2017 old? C'mon.

5 отв.Releasing a months old product to be beta tested when you basically used the beta as an incentive to pre-order is just a terrible business decision. I have to say that Bungie is not likely THAT stupid, unless they were also letting the Sandbox team drive every other decision in the Bungie building as well. If that is the case, then I completely understand the boneheaded decision! More likely? The gameplay at the reveal felt good because PVP/PVE was tuned differently on local servers and when they put them together, they had to reconcile the differences for the beta when the sandbox would again be unified. When they did this, they tuned it to make PVP feel good and they felt good about where the tunes were at that point (or flat out didn't care how it felt in PVE). They weren't expecting the kind of backlash they got. Basically, they expected PVE players to just sit and take it. For the sake of the PVP players.... I said it before and I'll say it again: Bungie's BIGGEST blunder was the failure to separate PVP from PVE. And I knew it was a bad sign when they didn't announce they would be separate at the reveal.

The freshly announced pre-order bonus junk was supposed to cloud your mind and make you forget how bad the beta was so that you are salivating over the free up-coming exotic junk weapon that you will, most likely, put in your locker (if there are lockers) after using it one time.

Just this week at my own place of employment there was a major scheduling change that affected me, and although it has been arranged days in advance, no one told me about the change until minutes before I was expected to be there. I wish I could say that its a rare occurrence. It isn't. Much to my irritation, believe me, it isn't. Never attribute to malice what can easily be explained by ignorance, laziness, or incompetence.
