You can easily get a good K/D by being in the back the whole game. But some of us aren't sissies. Some of us are AGGRESSIVE. We're going to break their lines, grab those crests, cap that Bravo objective, dunk that rift, or just straight up disrupt the enemy by any means necessary, and take down as many enemies as we can in the process! If being that shift in momentum and topping the team comes at the cost of a few more deaths, so be it. Guardians are immortal after all.
That paragraph is an example of playstyle elitism and a poor justification for low k/d play. Those who identify with it are basically perpetuating this line of thinking even more, creating a greater disconnect between the argument 'k/d doesn't matter'.

Playstyle elitism. That term better describes those who care about their KDR opposed the other. I.E my kdr is better so, i'm better <---thats elitism, and poor justification for it at that. I identify with it because it's sometimes my style of play, and I also enjoy having a couple of those balls to the wall players on my team opposed to those that will sit with a sniper looking down a pathway for easy kills instead of helping the team take a node/helping with the objective and just watching the team move while picking up garbage kills. If you have too many "I care about my kdr more" players on your team you've already lost, If you have too many "-blam!- shit up" type of players, you might not win but, it'll be a fun loss.
