Ever have somebody in a raid, CoE, nightfall, or any game mode give you some dumbass advice? It could be a tip about something you've known forever, or trying to show you a strategy that is just a dumpster fire.
I've run into this so much. I genuinely appreciate people that are trying to help, and big shout out to all the people that have. But have you ever gotten advice from someone that made you roll your eyes? Share it here.
Today's gem for me: I was running heroic strikes farming for a couple quests I needed done. (I took a long break and came back about a month ago so some of the quests I haven't finished). We are blowing through the Malok strike. I'm using a 330ish hand cannon racking up some hand cannon kills for Banshee. Head shotting red bars like crazy.
Along the way I'm getting party chat invitations like a muther phucker. I'm ignoring them mainly because my kid's asleep and I'm listening to a baby monitor. I couldn't imagine there would be much to talk about in a heroic strike. But they keep, on, coming. I message the guy and tell him I can't chat and ask what he needs.
I get a voice message back saying, "Yeah, you need to switch to a better weapon."
??? Really? Heroic Strikes? I could burn through that shit with all prototype weapons! It'd be different if it was a raid or even a nightfall, but really? We need to equip our top gear for HEROIC strikes now?
So I equipped all vanilla VoG gear and we completed the strike. Still had way more kills for this dude. It wasn't even like the strike was taking forever. We were done in like 10-15 minutes.
I realize its arc burn but the day I need to equip my supercell just to get a Heroic strike done? Is the day I should probably stop gaming.

2 отв.Some guy kept hanging on to the orb in The Restorative Mind and wouldn't put the ball in the slot. He said he was trying some kind of Imago Loop farming method. But the strike took far longer than it should have because he wouldn't stick the orb in the orb slot.

The best advice ever was the little island that has the portal on it for the one quest right before Atheons chamber in year one you had to really try to get over there. So one of my friends floated over there with a warlock and screamed "I FOUND A CHEST", so for the next 15 min or so every one in the raid group was trying to get there and grab the chest. After they realized that they were tricked they all got slightly upset becuse the only way off that island is to kill your self and it would send you to the beginning of the jumping puzzle. That was prob the best raid run I was apart of.

Guy was trying to tell me how to cheese one of the strikes. Hate mail was sent back and forth. Cool shit, though? The guy and his friend actually accepted a friend request from me and they're chill. Lmfao

8 отв.Got message few days ago doing heroic strike at darkblade. Dude says use solar sword to kill him faster.. I was like why? My zhalos supercell does more dps arc burn+small arms.. And he departed..

Haha yessss. I wasn't expecting that example but I know where you're trying to get at. I have a dude that I sometimes help with CoE if he messages me 1000X before and he's all like. "OK guys this is precision week so we gotta get headshots okay? You guys go left, I'll handle the guys over here. Do you know how to kill this boss? You gotta..etc" I just laugh and triple his score every time. So annoying.

There aren't a like a lot of people whom I approve of having children. But you, you I like.

4 отв.Ever since the burns got introduced into the Heroic playlist, the douche bags have wriggled free from the woodwork. It's my gaming time, on my console, on my character, in my house.... Please remove YOUR head, from YOUR arse and STFU! Is what I usually say.

"Don't open the spirit bloom chest." It was so funny opening it and hearing people flip out.
-
2 отв.Some people just want to grind out strikes quickly or farm them for whatever reason, which I completely understand. I've just been using sidearms for like 90% of those strikes though. Gotta get that grimoire card lol.
-
My message settings are private, so i don't get messages from people who aren't on my friends list. Besides, I'll play however the f*ck i like because i, like most people, can figure out pretty quick whether my loadout is effective or not.

5 отв.If the strikes going well, my fireteam members could be slapping enemies with a small fish for all I care. If it works, it works.

Изменено (Alley): 7/11/2016 4:31:36 AMMeh. I like running Fabian every now and then through heroics, since it's an integral part of my extreme close range build. Fuck what they say. Just have fun.

1 ответI actually brought this one up recently. A raid last week. 5 of us are regulars, we had to recruit one random. (He's immediately the guy that assumes we all just bought the game that morning and proceeds to tell us every step). Most of the time we ignore him or mess with him ny asking stupid raid questions. We get to Warpriest. Usually whoever is in the middle for our team weakens middle knight but leaves him alive long enough to allow left and right to hop around and grab some ammo. We are used to this so all we say is "Alright, ammo run everybody." This guy tells me to kill my knight. I tell him to him to hold on, we're grabbing ammo. I dunno if he just tuned me out or what, but he kept saying that we need all three knights dead for the glyphs to start. I'm pretty speechless by this point that someone would actually say this as though the entire team is -blam!-ing retarded. Cherry on top? On the next damage cycle, he repeats this advice and then says, "Nevermind I -blam!-in got your knight," and killshots it. The entire team groans and no one is near their plates. He starts whining that we suck at the plates. Eventually we do clear warpriest but Blowhard leaves at Golgoroth after we reject his Challenge strategy. Got a random 315 guy right afterward that ran everything perfect.

This is why I stopped raiding with LFG elitists. If I wanted to deal with children I'll do that with my own kids and not some douche punks online.
-
The funny thing is these die-hards forgot that the strikes are 260 light, which means if you're anywhere near 300, it's a breeze.

11 отв.Изменено (Pippo): 7/11/2016 5:35:13 AMUsually I make my own group for activities. However, this week, I joined someone for Challenge of Elders. As you may know, we have the Precision kill bonus this time. I ignored the party chat invite because all my posts say "no mics please", which even applies if I happen to be the one to join. The "leader" was a fellow Sunbreaker Titan. The other person, a Gunslinger, disconnected from time to time. After we made about 45k in the first run, I messaged the Titan about two things. First I asked whats wrong with the Hunter. He was not present during Round Two but joined again in Round 3. Basically the other Titan and I did all the work. Apparently he had internet issues, whatever. Now comes the interesting point. No matter which modifier is active in CoE, super kills with melee award slightly more points than the bonus. In this case, Precision kills. So I messaged the Titan the advice that Suncharge would give us even more points. He was using Scorched Earth. We did get 45k without it, and it was only meant as a friendly advice from one Titan to another. I did not get an answer from the Titan, but from his Hunter buddy. That Hunter told me that Precision kills are worth more points. I answered that he would be right if the "Orbs generated" points would not exist, but you do get more points with a melee super than with a precision kill. "lol it's Precision bonus this week can't you read?" "Alright you scrub", I thought, "I'll show you the truth." Once again I messaged it's the orb points which make a difference, and non-melee supers probably don't surpass the Precision bonus either. I told him to experience that himself as a Bladedancer. Reminder here, it was a Gunslinger. When we were on Round Two, with this Taken Mind boss, I paid more attention to the points. Round 2 CoE Precision kill: 180 points Super kill: 110 points Melee kill 60 points Orb gen: 40 points = 210 total points Now if we subtract the melee points, we see that we would be 30 points short. Does that mean all non-melee supers should not use it to get 45k? I don't think so, but that's another calculation. The other Sunbreaker with Scorched Earth used it quite regularly. The Gunslinger was a bit more passive with Golden Gun. But anyway, that's a different discussion. For the last time I messaged that idiot those results, and that he now knows. I really enjoyed the silence afterwards. I did not receive any other message. Me being the top score in Round 3 with the Hunter at the bottom was even better. Just for your notes, I was in the left half of the arena in round 2 where I get less add spawns so I could not get as much points as the others in the right half with a lot more spawn. That was the only reason, in case you wonder. TLDR: super kills with a melee (Suncharge Sunbreaker, Bladedancer) in CoE award slightly more points than the current bonus modifier. It's worth it! And if you don't know shit don't try to lecture me about that. I will Suncharge and Bladedance in CoE every time from now on. It was a recent discovery for me with those melee supers. Edit: talking about Precision kill modifier week. I guess a Bladedancer with Encore is also better than any other Hunter subclass during Super week. As a Sunbreaker during Super week it's a question of whether the added bonus melee points are better or if the enhanced kill amount due to super energy efficiency of Forgemaster or maybe Sunspots is better. And Warlocks just go nuts as Stormcaller with Transcendence and Impossible Machines.

3 отв.Изменено (Roosevelt): 7/11/2016 5:23:30 AMBe me. Find an LFG group for Oryx Cp because I didn't finish the raid the other day. Notice a 4960 grimoire guy (10 less than me, 20 less than max). He says he's streaming. We start it up. He tells one of our titans "You should take off that Glasshouse, it makes your bubble last too long in the middle" Me: "But that's not how Glasshouse works, it only extends the buff. The perk in the subclass called Bastion does that." Streamer guy: "I KNOW about Bastion. Glasshouse does this, Datto made a video on it" This goes back and forth a bit, but we eventually drop it so we can actually do Oryx. Which we did rather easily, not gonna hate on their skills. But I went through Datto's videos and could find NOTHING about this. In fact, I found a video where he said it would be GOOD for the raid, but not necessary. I personally think it's the best exotic you could have at Warpriest and Golgoroth. Definitely not necessary at Oryx, but there's no reason to take it off. After the raid, I politely ask Streamer guy "Which 20 Grimoire are you missing? I'm only missing 10 from Rumble" He responds with "I only need rumble" I say "but you're missing 20 points and rumble will only give you 15, so what else are you missing?" He replies with the same thing, and then proceeds to leave the party. It just really bothers me when people are extremely adamant about their statements and opinions, even if they're wrong. He was unable to admit that he was wrong because he thought he was superior in some way. I guess if you stream that suddenly gives you insight beyond everyone else? He also hated on Sleeper Simulant, even though it's way faster at killing ogres than ToM. To each their own I guess, but he has his head very far up his rear end.
-
26 отв.A few months ago, if there's an extra tether, I'd use the quiver+predator tactic during hard oryx for the ogres. Countless times I would be told I'm stupid, stop using quiver, we don't need it. Guess what dumbass, we don't need another tether either so I might as well make use of it! I haven't raided in a long time since I hate randoms and I hate kings fall more.
So I equipped all vanilla VoG gear and we completed the strike. Still had way more kills for this dude. It wasn't even like the strike was taking forever. Изменено (Kizo): 7/11/2016 4:31:11 AMlmao. Had some random kid complain through messages I wasn't using Zhalo for the Strikes this week. I was using my Cocytus with Triple Tap. Ended up with +20 kills than him with more precision kills as well.

2 отв.We've gone through all of TTK with arc burn in strikes. Why is this suddenly a thing? Alot of us have been running arc burn strikes without Zhalo. Why now is it a must use weapon for some people?

2 отв.A guy in my clan is stupidly superstitious about RNG. Everybody knows one of those guys. I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious...

2 отв.I understand, but I use the best loadout I can always now if you want to use something different that's cool with me

I like to run bolt caster and skyburners annex in heroic strikes so I can drop mass orbs. I do this so my teammates can get more supers. If I run out of heavy I'll usually throw my zhalo on until heavy drops. Three times in the last month I've had people tell me to switch to zhalo when I'm popping orbs for them. Had one guy send me a message telling me I was a noob for not having it, so I equipped it and shot him. Just to show him I had it. So he called me a f@g and left
