Needs of the many pal. When the vocal minority starts winning, there's a problem

In this case the "many" haven't put the time into for their needs ro even be considered, ffs. That's like a tourist demanding new laws in a country he or she is only visiting.
-
No, it's like the general population of a country getting all pissed off when laws and policies start to only favor the top tier. Its literally the 1% argument from a video game perspective. Difference here is that the 1% don't have their fingers in Bungie's pockets so they're reduced to complaining about it day after day
-
Trust me the casuals aren't complaining about anything to bungie. They get on for 4 or 5 hours a week, maintaining there predetermined 1.0 KD, and then going on with their lives. How is their five hours played / week valued over my 4 or 5 hours a day?
-
Because they bought the game same as you. To Bungie, that's all that matters. The player base is big enough that they don't need to pander to the hardcore fans, because there are so many. Let's say one million, just for simplicity's sake. Of that million, let's say there are ten thousand everyday players that get screwed over by SBMM by being too good to be easily matched up, and another ten thousand with the same issue at the bottom. The bottom ones fit your idea of casuals, because they go 1-25 consistently and probably don't have much fun. They probably play rarely, cause it sucks to suck. The top ones play constantly, at least enough to average out the bottom ones. That leaves the other 980,000 players who are somewhere in the middle. They play every now and then, buy all the dlc, and generally do whatever is required each week to get the max rewards. They're the bread and butter of Destiny. As long as they're happy, who cares about the outliers? That's why SBMM keeps creeping back and getting a bit more persistent each time. It benefits the majority of the player base of whom Bungie gets most of their money from
-
Are you saying that people like me aren't allowed to have fun. I bought the game just like everyone else.
-
Not at all. I'm assuming you're top tier here. Just that if Bungie is forced to decide between people at your level having good matches and the vast majority of players, they're going to pick the majority every time.
-
Bud, listen to yourself. You're telling me that 980k average players can't be matched up consistently? Even if all of those players are online playing a 6v6 that's 81k games being played. Let's half that number between current/old gen. Still about 40k games being played on both platforms. Now the chance one of those highly skilled players is going to be in your game is 1/8. You've got a 1/8 chance of just being in a lobby with a crucible god. And keep in mind that's just 1 player in a game with 12. Basically a 12% chance someone in the game is going to have a 2.0 + KD , each game. Not bad odds if you ask me. With the SBMM if you are even slightly above average it's a 100% chance 100% of the time you're going to playing against crucible gods. It sucks man. It's just not fun having to TRY HARD all the time.
-
You're right, and I think that's what Bungie is trying to do, without saying it (cause it would kick off a giant shitstorm). The goal is to keep the crucible gods away from the normal players, because normal players might stop playing altogether if they get routinely screwed by a master. So how do they fix it without alienating the majority or doing a major change like ranked/unranked playlists?
