Why is Trials of Osiris Such a Sausagefest?

Okay, I know that the life mission of some basement-dwellers is to go flawless every single week. They know every map in rotation pixel by pixel, every single sniping lane, and every perfect arc for a grenade. But good lord is it rough to play Trials of Osiris. Not everyone is Jesus Christ, and people who mock average players like myself needs to understand that. Not all of us can execute perfect 3v1 situations with nothing but a sniper rifle, not all of have the RNG to have a Last Word, and not all of us have the capacity to contain all that salt and sweat. So, when your response to this poll is "Git gud u scrub," it just goes to show that you're nothing but an entitled elitist that is probably part of the problem. I love connection-based matchmaking, but I would suggest that Trials be partly SBMM. Still prioritize connection, but don't pair up a group of ~300's who want to go flawless for the first time with a sophisticated clan of 320 quickscopers who all have Tic Fit. Not only does that give the 320 players an unenjoyable win, but it makes the fresh players less likely to return, thus resulting in less people playing ToO in general. SBMM in Trials would not only make matches more fair and consistent, but it would also make the whole thing more challenging and fun. If you're the group of 300's mentioned above, then you're just twiddling your thumbs waiting to get your asses handed to you. If you're the 320's, then you just walk in, claim your victory, and leave. No one has fun in that scenario. However, if your group of 1.2 KD friends and another group of 1.2 KD's play against each other, you're both constantly engaged in the game, putting in all your effort, and gaining true satisfaction from emerging victorious. And if you lose? You'd probably be more likely to appreciate your opponents' skills and learn from your mistakes, thus making you improve as a player. Of course, many people despise SBMM, and, to a degree, so do I. Pure SBMM is horrible, since doing this puts connection to the side. But if a proper blend of the two were found, then Trials could become a much more enjoyable experience. Why is Trials such a sausagefest in general? It seems like every single game I get thrown into is with a full team of self-rezing, Voidfang-wearing, Doctrine/1KYS/Truth tryhards! It it just doesn't stop. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you have to use a bad setup or else you're an awful person, but some people just need to put their dick away. So, what do you personally think of Trials? Are you a weekly visitor to the Lighthouse with a mural of the Last Word on your wall? Are you a fresh 300 who wants to get cool-looking gear but isn't able to because he keeps having to play against tryhards? Are you a PVE player who couldn't care less about Crucible? All opinions are welcome... except for the mean ones :(
In all fairness, I'll occasionally use a "scrubby" setup whenever I'm bored or tired, but usually I'm using something besides the meta. I still have fun playing the game with friends and all, but Trials is the one thing that keeps pissing me off.
Edit: I know what sausagefest means. I think it describes Trials pretty well. Edit 2: It appears that this is trending? Mkay lol Edit 3: This post is getting a lot of feedback, so some of your comments might get lost down there. If I don't reply, don't take it personally.
