What do you guys think about this change? Good or bad? SSDD? Let's discuss!
I'm feeling kind of optimistic due to the letter he wrote.
I want to personally thank Harold for his friendship, passion, hard work, and dedication in helping make Bungie the great company it is today. As a team, we celebrated many victories and weathered many storms.
To the players of Destiny, I want you to know that my number one priority, and Bungie’s, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together. I believe that Destiny is a one-of-a-kind experience. I also believe you have yet to see our studio’s best work. My new role here at the studio will be entirely focused on fulfilling that promise.
the first thing the New Guy will want to do, is?. get rid of all the crap he doesn't like of the old guy, then he's told thats not possible and slowly, he starts to learn all the crap the Old Guy was dealing with but no one spoke about, then you all will wonder WTF?? where are the changes where is the new great content????. and the New Guy will be to busy just trying to keep this boat afloat until D2 delayed arrival
-
Seems to me he's just the guy left holding the shitty end of the stick

1 ответSO FAR BUNGIE IS STILL FAILING MISERABLY.

Изменено (AlamoCity): 1/28/2016 7:44:01 PMOnly time will tell if things turn around for Destiny. However, this very second, Destiny is continuing its downward path.

Изменено (x2jakes): 1/28/2016 5:07:58 PMI think it is a great decision. Bungie has a self-described reputation of being "irreverent" (disrespectful) it doesn't fly anymore. There are too many other options out there that go out of their way making game updates to reward the customers. Guys like L Smith and S Merrill wouldn't make it into the parking lot of a company like CD Projekt Red. The PVE Sandbox Team misread the players somewhere along the line when they destroyed what was great about this game. The fun. They may have a PVP background and assumed PVE players sought the same sweaty challenge as PVP players, they were wrong. Myself as well as 90% of my friends list left because of the nerfs in PVE. The great weapons we used to raid for, make videos of getting were iconic. I'm not claiming they weren't overpowered because they were, that was the purpose. We didn't stop playing when we finally got them, we played MORE to use them. Smith and Merrill cater to streamers and have made PVE Destiny a game for streamers. Casuals have left in droves, they used to be able to reach end game content, top level, and even raided. They didn't have to be great, the rest of the fireteam could cover weaklinks until they got the hang of it because their were OP weapons that bridged the gap. No longer, rather than challenge elite players to use a weapon without elemental damage they remove it from all primaries for all players. Instead of elite players using something other than Vex or Gjally they cry that those weapons be nerfed or removed because they are breaking the game in PVE. In other words, scrubs and filthy casuals can now complete raids too and they are no longer special snowflakes. S Merrill and L Smith are in my opinion the chief offenders in this regard. They scoff at and look down upon the majority of their own fanbase and I resented it along with many of my friends. As long as they are still around refusing to accept that their vision for PVE and their irreverent attitude towards their customers remain, I will stay gone. I wish him luck and hope the best comes out of it. Destiny is a great game at its core, if they understand that challenging and entertaining are not equal. If they understand that PVE and PVP gamers have different wants from their experience, this game will explode and once again become legendary.

We shall see. I'm hoping this means a brighter future for Bungie. But damn...now you can add another high profile name who left in recent years.
-
Smoke and mirrors to preserve what little reputation and the image they have left. Nothing will change, but they'll say it is. A new CEO doesn't change contractual obligation.

14 отв.Holy crap I just came to the bungie forums from #Gaming just to see if I can find some interesting topics and all I can see is posts about the ceo of destiny. How boring!

1 ответИзменено (wickedwahine808): 1/28/2016 12:49:33 AMLetters or posts don't mean anything to me anymore. Action speaks louder than words. Ryan's actions/decisions left me with a bitter taste in my gaming. #NeverForgetMotS

6 отв.I think this is a good step forward. Some people here are quick to judge and spread negativity about Destiny/Bungie. I think they're a company that keeps working hard to make their game great with what they have. They've made an -almost- wonderful community that just keeps growing. Let's hope for the best!

"...one priority, and Bungie’s, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together..." bla bla bla ... they can make even golden dinosaurs in Destiny - not going to spend 1 dime on Destiny. I wasted 1,5 year and im willing to swap fo other game/games and stream them rather than sticking with bungie and constantly throwin money at the screen while beeing shit all over me by them. Thank you for this journey - good luck. You'll need it.
-
They need a complete internal review and operational analysis as well as a communications education. What they really need is business majors who understanding business management, not necessarily game development to assist them. Techies and engineers rarely make good strategy setters. Hopefully the new guy shakes things up and hopefully Activision doesn't hold as much or more sway with him than the last.

I feel that new leadership and direction is what Bungie needs. I would like to see where the company goes now.
-
7 отв.This is what im thinking. The reason why there have been so many delays in dlc is because of some issues at bungie. Now that a new CEO is in charge, I feel as though destiny will be getting back on track. Because, let's face it, if a board of directors has to change CEOs, then something within the company isn't right. So hopefully im right and destiny gets back on track.

1 ответWoowoo. Harold Ryan scrapped Statens story and was the reason Marty got canned.
-
Well, I worked in Target Canada when it opened and a year later the CEO "stepped down"/got fired and a year after that they stripped 133 stores from Canada... Let's hope Bungie stays upright lol

Year 2 Gally hype

Изменено (Vicex): 1/27/2016 11:38:32 PMBungie is circling the drain and this is just one of many desperate attempts to fix the problem to come. And not- I don't mean financially, just in the general direction of disaster from producing such a mediocre game. Welcome to Bungie 2.0 where no one gives a -blam!- about previously held standards of greatness anymore.
-
I hope this means we'll actually get a balanced and fair game

One of the few remaining folks from Bungie's early days as a developer.. :-(
