Remember when sunbreaker was the only super used by titans due to it being easy to use? It was basically 4-6 free kills, and all you had to do was spam the trigger until you get that killstreak.
Stormcallers are starting to become the new op sunbreaker. Due to it being so easy to use, along with the long range and chaining capabilities (and landfall), it easily becomes not only one of the best supers, but the easiest super to use. You can walk into a room full of enemies and be zapping one guy, and the chain be hitting everyone else, and walk out with 6 easy kills.
The reason the super is so difficult to kill is because of:
A). Ionic blink (which personally i dont care for)
B). Everyone being too scared to shoot at it, so they just run (same problem with the op sunbreaker)
C). It's lightning hits you before you can even react
And lets not forget about landfall, it's basically a mini fist of havoc that takes up 0% of your super yet kills from it are considered "super kills". The fact it can pop a titan bubble is also aggravating.
And last but not least, the duration of the super. I understand there is a perk that lets it last longer if you gave grenade and mele energy charged, but even without it you can go on a long enough rampage to kill the whole team twice.
So like i was saying before, stormcaller is a easy yet powerful super, which is why it is used by many. I'm not calling for a nerf, but maybe some tweaks here and there might do the trick.
Stormcallers are starting to become the new op sunbreaker.
They've been like they are since TTK came out. In fact, when TTK came out, everybody complained they were the weakest super. What changed?
Due to it being so easy to use, along with the long range and chaining capabilities (and landfall), it easily becomes not only one of the best supers, but the easiest super to use. You can walk into a room full of enemies and be zapping one guy, and the chain be hitting everyone else, and walk out with 6 easy kills.
Long range? The range is about 15 feet. Not long at all when you look at Golden Gun. The chaining? The Lightning chains to only 2-3 other people unless you choose "Superconductor", But that removes Landfall. Plus, I've never seen a room full of the entire enemy team, and if I did, I'd be dead before I entered.
The reason the super is so difficult to kill is because of: A). Ionic blink (which personally i dont care for) B). Everyone being too scared to shoot at it, so they just run (same problem with the op sunbreaker) C). It's lightning hits you before you can even react
A. Ionic Blink gives the super the ability to actually be a good mobile super, but use up 2-3 seconds of said super every use. B. Yes, let's nerf something because people are too afraid to shoot it. C. It's the ONLY super with any Time-To-Kill whatsoever. You're telling me you want it to be instant?
And lets not forget about landfall, it's basically a mini fist of havoc that takes up 0% of your super yet kills from it are considered "super kills". The fact it can pop a titan bubble is also aggravating.
Yes, it could be considered a mini FoH, Seeing as t has 1/3 the range and killing power, and I must be directly over my enemy for it to be of any use. I will agree with you on the Titan bubble, however. ONLY with that:
And last but not least, the duration of the super. I understand there is a perk that lets it last longer if you gave grenade and mele energy charged, but even without it you can go on a long enough rampage to kill the whole team twice.
The only reason Stormcaller appears to last long is when using Transcendence, which, as you said, needs to have both your grenade and melee charged. And when a super can kill an entire team twice (It can't), three other factors should be considered: 1. The players skill 2. Horrible map spawns. 3. You running directly at them?
So like i was saying before, stormcaller is a easy yet powerful super, which is why it is used by many. I'm not calling for a nerf, but maybe some tweaks here and there might do the trick.
Ah, the classic "It's used by lots of people so it must be OP" argument. Los of people eat Pancakes in the morning for breakfast. Are Pancakes OP because of that? No. People just like Pancakes. Now, as I said before, the one tweak that should be made is for Landfall to not pop a defenders bubble. One change. Here's the patch note. -Increases Ward of Dawns resistance to Landfall by 50% Tah-dah! TL:DR Go read the whole thing. It can't be summarized here.

1 ответOkay but our damage resistance isnt great. I am a 319 light warlock that can be shot down by a 307 hunter with a 306 1k stare.

What super is easy to use again? People just don't realize that if you mess with PvP, Bungie's dumbass ends up hurting us in PvE. Crucible isn't the -blam!-ing center of the universe. Bungie needs to realize that shit. Separate that damn game mode from PvE already...
-
Stormtrance is actually really easy to shut down.

What super is hard to use?

Pfft, I killed a bunch of storm callers with primary and clever moves. Not a problem.
-
ur 2nd reason made me laugh. so because people are too scared shoot them like a bunch of pansies is a reason u want it nerfed?

2 отв.I have all three classes over 310 when maxed out so I can say this... SHUT UP, YOU NERF HERDING NOOB! The hammers are now broken. They need to be fixed and are now so weak they are useless. They never were overpowered... You got five and had to manually aim... But losers cried because they want a trophy, too. The lighting power is not OP... It is, as a super, right where it needs to be... If you play it stupidly, you will die long before you hit anyone. No more Nerfs... Things now need buffs to undo the Nerfs.
-
With landfall it's ridiculous
-
1 ответI think you're just salty after the titan nerf.
-
1 ответArrr, are you ready scrubs? Aye Aye Bungie! I can’t hear you! Aye Aye Bungie! Ooooh, who lives in a raid arena under the reef? Spongebob nerf pants! Annoying and glitchy and laggy is he? I understand there is a perk that lets it last longer if you gave grenade and mele energy charged, but even without it you can go on a long enough rampage to kill the whole team twice. .
But there lies the tradeoff... to have that long super you have to save your nades/mele... so it reduces the damage potential for most of the match. Plus the lack of armor for the stormcaller makes it one of the easier to shut down. Using Guardian.gg as a stat collector, here are the best KD's of each of the Supers Main Perk: Best KD of Super StormCaller 1.15 SunSinger 1.2 VoidWalker 1.19 BladeDancer 1.16 GunSlinger 1.15 NightStalker 2.51 SunBreaker 1.07 Defender 1.06 Striker 1.09 Stormcaller doesn't look unbalanced now at all in terms of KD of the players running them. I concur to actually use, it is the easiest... no doubt, but you also have to be aware of situation and use cover, or your going to get shut down rather easily. The only adjustment they should have made to the SunBreaker was to reduce the armor/health gen combo...

lol i remember when people used to say storm caller sucked, you people are weird.

Изменено (Brennus79): 1/8/2016 11:41:18 PMThe reason is Voidwalker and Sunsinger are under-powered. Buff them. A+B are different Supers if you read on Stormcallers Skill tree. Landfall is a extra Super also you get it only additonal if you have a Exotic item. Means without Exotic items you have More Range or Landfall or Ionic Blink. Landfall is one hit yes. But it is the only one hit action the Stormcaller have and it needs the Super Energy plus you need too goto dangerous Places if you want hit anyone with Landfall. Strikers have the Fist of Havoc what have a Jump before so it is more easy too hit with it without getting dangerous Damage and the Shoulder Charge. Both are One Hit Actions. I think the Problem is you don't know how too kill a Stormcaller, if you run inside the super while it is activatet it is the Wrong Way :) Should be easy with your arc 1000YS!

1 ответИзменено (Drauka-Grissa): 1/8/2016 8:08:59 PMYou don't get any bonus armor with storm trance and 9 times out of 10 within seconds of using mine I get killed by shotguns, sidearms, hand cannons, snipers, auto rifles, even titan and hunter melees. Its not op. It is probably the least op sub class of any character. The only thing it has going for it is time. Supers should be super and they should be OP, please quit asking that the game be made less fun. By the way, I main all three classes and nine sub classes. I'm not biased, I like them all, they each are special in their own way.
-
1 ответBecause it's fun to use maybe. I think nova bomb with obsidian mind is more effective but on occasion I light to hit that landfall light switch and chase the roaches around. It's just about it being fun to me. Shouldn't that be the way it is for everyone?
-
Listen. If it wasn't good for clearing adds in PvE I would rather see a change made to Stormcaller, and yes I main a warlock; If Stormcaller had to change, I would remove the whole way the super works. I would keep the lightning animation, but instead of holding a trigger they should be able to fire anywhere from 3-6 Lightning bolts. Golden Gun has Three bullets, four if you have the helmet that grants an extra shot. Titans can throw hammers until their super runs dry. I, like I said before main a warlock, and although I disagree that Stormcaller is OP, because it isn't really Over Powered. I think it is too boring to use as it requires little to no effort to get a kill. It doesn't have a insane super health buff, it can still be easily taken down(from a safe range like all supers). However novabomb, requires aim. Sunsingers throwing grenades, requires aim(to an extent) and then the human lightning rod, requires range. Aim is not a major factor, range is. Get within the range and your dead or at least close(depending if you take me down before I give you a static bad hair day). In conclusion I'll say once more I would prefer to have a super that requires a aimed super. Several fast flying lightning bolts, or something that breaks this easy button-hold-to-kill super. OR at the very least I think the lightning should be bound to enemies on the ground. Real lightning starts by static charging on the ground, so in game, if you jump you are safe and if you land in the lightning range on the ground it will get you. At least make it more fair.

2 отв.Изменено (Dinkus McGee): 1/8/2016 7:18:01 PMI play only as a warlock, And I NEVER run stormtrance in the crucible but for mayhem. Why? Because it's NOT a good super. I am nearly guaranteed to be killed while using it. One sniper from across the map and I'm dead. Often before I get a chance to "sith" anyone. It's fun in mayhem, and I'll use it to clear roaming groups of adds in pve, but that's it.

All hail the master race.
