12 days after Destiny launched, Angry Joe dropped a review which accurately pointed out that Destiny was a cut-content shell of a game.
Not only that, but Bdobbins and some others echoed this truth. They all acknowledge that the gunplay is good but the game itself is crap.
The saddest part of Destiny is that despite these 100% accurate critiques of this "game", the weak-minded continue defending it.
I invite you to consider this. 12 days after launch a respected game reviewer called Bungie out for cutting content so they could sell it as DLC. Fanboys then railed against this opinion, only for the truth to be revealed that content WAS CUT, and eventually to be sold as DLC.
Bear in mind the recent article which revealed that the Dreadnought and Oryx were intended to be the final third of the VANILLA story. That Rasputin and Osiris were meant to be significant characters in the VANILLA game.
Hate on me all you want, but please remember that I am not the one who charged you $120+ for a shell of the game ( which could have been a real game) that should have cost you $60.
It mystifies me that people can be so stupid, but I guess that I am doomed to a life of being mystified. The stupidity of fanboys is apparently never-ending.
Edit: over 500 responses in just a few hours, it seems I've struck a chord. Remember this, people: Activision likes to encourage minors to gamble. If you don't stand against this, you are endorsing it.
Glad to see this has finally petred out. See you all again when the Eververse starts selling things that effect gameplay. Until then, remember this: Activision will consistently provide the least amount of content for maximum amount of profit.

30 отв.So, let me put some logic into this, since OP clearly has forgotten to do this. Yes, the Vanilla Destiny seemed like a shell of a story. I am not denying this, it's true. But Bungie has been saying from the very beginning that this is supposed to be a 10 year project. If they threw all their theoretical eggs in one basket in the original story, what kind of story would they have left to add on to expand that. In order to be able to make this the long term game that it is supposed to be, they have to release the entire story slowly over time. Of course they already came up with the whole story. You don't start writing a novel without the whole general story already thought up. From there they had to decide how they wanted to break up the story, and when they wanted to release each part. If you are really worried about Destiny being a shell, and Bungie holding content, then wait nine more years for the final part of Destiny to be released. Then pick yourself up a copy and see the whole story all at once. But of course you'll miss out on nine years of great fun with an awesome co-op game. Bob MF Palmer

Lastly to all who are STILL complaining about how much they have spent just to have the content be sold for cheaper or even including it in the Taken King please leave, as much as you'd like to deny it for one reason or another this is a game that at its base has an mmo design behind it. Now what that means it there will be expansions you will have to buy and in turn the previous one will drop in price or be included in the newest one to give players that haven't played it before, are returning, or otherwise the incentive to play it. Conclusion: some things may have been planned into the game but fully complete in background data after a total revamp is highly unlikely. If you like to blame someone don't blame the developer it was their publisher Activision that is to blame for a last minute redesign.

1 ответI don't remember a lot of ppl defending it but it was pretty obvious when Joseph Statin left Bungie 1 year before release that things were gunna change and not for the better. Same with the Marty odeonnel situation.

Pal, Angry Joe is a prat. And I trust his 'reviews' as far as I can throw binary. Moreover, if they felt the story needed to be overhauled THAT badly, then maybe JUST MAYBE, we are better off for it. The money side of the take. I can ignore (some won't) but my $/minute for vanilla and outrageously good value

As far as we know, the original story could have had 2 missions per planet because they were trying to fit too many locations in. Yes, the ideas for the Reef and Dreadnaught existed before the release and had been developed. But how much? I am not trying to defend anyone, it's just that these facts are not known, or talked about.

2 отв.Aiming at the wrong targets IMHO. If you like playing the game ( I do ) then great. No ones held a hand cannon to you and robbed the money out your wallet. This is a story of software Hubris. You make a thing and people say it's good (Halo), you think you can make better and bag $500m funding. That buys you a lot of talent hours. You run for three years and decide it's all gone Pete Tong?? That is dreadful, woeful project management. The people who should have gone were not the writers, but the top echelons of management. They should have given better direction and oversight. I've worked in software for 25 years, large and small teams, so I know how to deliver something you want people to buy. You do not, in any way, go for three years without checking. Sheesh, in Agile projects you don't go a month without checking your on the right path, big reviews every quarter. The micro transactions to support a 'live team' is just a sign of something super wrong. You build that cost into the funding, unless you have burnt all your dough already and are seriously compromised. And that's $500m that's been misspent. You rent some offices, buy some PC's and pay your staff $75k a year? Where's it all gone? Maybe that 500 figure is made up, because I can't see where it's gone. The problem ain't the game story.. It's the Bungie story. I love the game environment gfx, guns, team play.. they have defined a genre. But I would have stuck with the story they had, the cut scenes, maybe spent some time adding more story to explain any confusing bits.. The very last thing I care about in Destiny is the 'grind more' cards. Don't read em, could not give a dingos testes for them. I want my story telling in game. Call me old fashioned... I'm not here to defend or attack just to point out some truths. People like angry Joe and BDobbins are both incredibly hard to please. Nobody was looking for a game that scaled to the expectations that these two people had. In every subsequent video, they bashed the game AND THE PEOPLE THAT PLAY IT, while they, themselves, kept coming back to the same game, grinding the same grind, running the same maps/strikes/raids that we were, making multiple characters, doing everything they repeatedly bashed in their videos to play, WHILE MOCKING THEIR FAN BASE. How are you going to repeatedly tell people that they shouldn't have bought the game when you, yourself have bought it, play it, and have just as many hours invested as the people like tripleWRECK and Gothalion, who are getting paid by players just to play this game? Neither one of them have legs to stand on in that department. As a viewer, I fully discredit them for their arguments based on their own hypocrisy and arrogance. I'm sorry you fed into them.
