Players with Significant Others IRL.
As a dude with a really awesome girlfriend, it can be difficult to create a solid balance between giving her the attention she deserves, and the time you need to put into Destiny in order to thrive. Fortunately, she's a huge bookworm and doesn't mind sharing the couch while I farm/raid/etc as long as she has her own entertainment. In your experiences, has Destiny put a damper on your relationships? Or does your lady/man not really care, so long as the two of you have "you time" every now and then?

EDIT: Nearly 200 responses. Holy crap. Great dialogue going. Now I'm curious for those of you that play with your SOs, do their or your misadventures (maybe one of you is much better than the other) cause tension, maybe an argument or disagreement between the two of you?

Before I had a kid, I'd play when she read or slept. Now I have a 3 week old kid, I don't find much time to play. Maybe I can find one or two nights a week and a few hours per nm session to play any sort of games. But that's about it.

Well, me and him play destiny together all the time lol, especially now that HoW is coming out soon, we've basically been playing nonstop whenever we both have the time. It's pretty great :)

My missus is from India and watches a bunch of Indian TV shows. They are, mostly, absolute horse shite. So whilst she watches those, I game. Everyones a winner. :)

I'm a weekend only player so when she goes to bed on weekends I log on and play. Works out great that way.

Similar to you. As long as my wife has something to do/watch I'm golden to play. Lucky for me watches CSI and all that rubbish. It's on all the time. Very nice!!!

From what I read from other comments it seems that girls are the same all over the place, with rare exceptions lol. Mine usualy doesn't mind me playing, she usualy even asks a lot about the games I play "what is that, what it does", I even put her playing Halo back then (waiting to grab the MCC for Xbox One later this year so that we can play the full story together) but she struggles with aiming. Anyway, usualy while I play on my X360 she tends to be playing XOne and dominating on Just Dance and Xbox Fitness. There are two situations where she nags me about me playing: - She wants to watch a movie or Tv Show... time that she will be spending looking at the phone; - Going to bed. I don't sleep much and its very rare to be sleepy before midnight. While in her case its rare the day she isn't sleepy before 9pm and wanting to go to bed at 10pm

My first triumph getting my lady into gaming was Eve Online, which she loved then on console it was Diablo III FOR 360, and now she's playing Destiny. Gonna wife her up.

Some advice. Your significant other > Destiny. Always remember this if you don't want to lose them.

I was once given the best piece of marital advice: the key to a successful marriage is tv's in different rooms. So when we bought our house, we bought 2 60" tv's. One for the living room, and one for my game room. So at night after we make dinner, clean up, put the kids to bed, and talk, I go upstairs to the game room and play and she watches her sparkly vampire shows and plays on her ipad downstairs. It works out very well. I have learned that you don't nave to have the exact same interests or hobbies as your partner, just a mutual respect of them and an understanding that everyone needs time by themselves to enjoy their own things.

My girlfriend doesn't always enjoy me playing games because she doesn't see it as an investment. But I just tell her it's another hobby. She's perfectly fine with me playing games as long as I get other things done around our apartment. And she would rather be doing something with me instead of watching me play. I've tried getting her to play games, but the most she'll do is play FIFA with me, she is awful at everything else haha. She's so cute when she plays but she just gets too frustrated with it. Doesn't help with the fact she has generalized anxiety disorder. I will NEVER put Destiny before her, but I still try to put time into it.

My roommate is awesome she cooks and cleans and fu*ks me every now and then. It's like all the benefits of a relationship without the commitment Lol this won't last long but I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts.

My girlfriend likes video games. Only certain kinds though. She's huge into the indie game/pc thing and loves strange indie horror games. She finally went around to buying herself The Evil Within, so currently she's sitting on her laptop playing it while I wait for my group to get on and run the Nightfall

1 ответI have a strange issue with my gf.. She doesn't mind me spending time playing the game. Hours upon hours is fine... However she will get angry if I talk to her about any of my clanmates as if they are people.. lol. For some reason she gets jealous of me being on Destiny talking to people and not mad about the game time.. I could play skyrim till I die only pausing for meals and holidays with no complaints from her LOL!

My wife hates it but I dont drink,smoke,club or really go out without the family I give them the time and love they deserve so I get to play when she at work and also she been buying my games lately she understands that a game that cost me 60 dollars might sit and collect dust after a while but at least she knows where my money is at 😂😂😂😂
