Ah I miss that UI for crucible.

Queueing up solo in Gambit to knock out milestones. Ugghh. “Used to be ok to play PvP games in Destiny as an average skill player but now Bungie doesn’t use match-making” were my thoughts as the Drifter announced “Cabal!” like we just won something. I had scoped out my team – I was going Skullfort Titan, Sidearm, shotgun and Sleeper. My quick check revealed three other characters all playing new subclasses: DeesKnots – Chaos Reach Arc Warlock, 2 primaries and a tracking rocket launcher (no help) Kloptitudinal – Big hammer titan – shotgun, shotgun and Sleeper (I’m seeing empty shotguns dying to adds here) Smoggy Pluto – New void Hunter – Duke, Gunnora’s axe and Tractor Cannon (Not sure what the synergy was here but I wasn’t hopeful) The match began like they all do, easy adds die super easy and we are off to the second spawn at the beach – it was the drill map. Hooray – everybody dropped off their motes. I think we were a little slow but we didn’t lose any motes so still in the match. When I got to the second spawn that’s when I noticed something odd – I shot the Centurian with my sidearm (with range finder, armor piercing rounds and outlaw it does good work) and it just melted. Suddenly I noticed all motes marking my radar and the next spawn location was up. Too soon for a super and I was pretty sure the first spawn ate all the grenades. I was perplexed. But drop off 5 motes and on to the next spawn. Except for the Titan – the combat feed announced our shotgun gorilla went to the other side and just as quickly the Titan was back – 1 kill, probably didn’t have ammo for the Sleeper and had to trade with the shotguns. More of the same as far as adds melting and I started noticing Soggy Pluto was going invisible – all the time. Slide, Duke goes bang and then a melee to a big add. Quick though, like quicker than you could think it. Slide, BANG, knife..Slide, BANG, knife – over and over. Radar is just motes. I stopped even adsing my weapon, just spray and pray everything and keep up with picking up the motes. Drifters “Bank your motes and spawn in a Primeval!” took me off guard – it didn’t feel like we had worked hard enough to be there yet – the other team was only three quarters of the way through. I had no ammo for my sleeper, but my TITAN SMASH was ready – I was going to wait for the witches to be done – hopefully after invasion. I was into my punch a witch for trench shotty when I heard “invaders on the field”. I braced for deletion – this early in the Primeval it’s almost worth it just to eat the sleeper shot but I just caught the tail end of a perfect wombo combo thrown across the map by Soggy Pluto. I think the Warlock got maybe one shot in to finish the invader and the Titan – of course – was invading. But my witch was gone – the other witch was gone and I just catch a glimpse of the newly visible Soggy Pluto leaving the boss. I’ve caught on now though – Soggy Pluto was applying perfect execution debuffs to everything and now was the moment for TITAN SMASH. Warlock goes Electric hose boogaloo and I think Soggy Pluto started booping shortly after that because by the time I got the Ep shotgun cranked up it was over. Primeval melted. At the round intermission I chose to throw my lonely swingset emote – trying not to be too cocky. It didn’t matter though – Soggy Pluto was a Hunter on a mission -everything died and quick. Primeval time – and it was THE BOSS – the floating – tentacled menace. Malfeasance was mine! If we killed the boss. The other team was just now calling their Primeval. Aggghhh – Soggy Pluto was down – taken out by a quick Sleeper shot from an invader – The warlock popped the super and cross mapped hosed the invader but now we were down a super and of course the hammer titan invaded as soon as the portal opened. I rez’d Soggy and turned to get the witch down. The other team’s yellow bar was 2/3rds but didn’t look like a full blown melt. Our witches were down and I was watching Soggy Pluto for go time- and there it went, invisible melee boss and dart away. I did the thing for TITAN SMASH, I also heard Mr. Hammer titan pop hammers -back from invading I was glad for the extra super and the Warlock’s Rockets were coming fast. I switched immediately to shotty and proceeded to melt. Malfeasance was ours! And we owed it all to Soggy Pluto. That’s when I noticed in the fireteam chat that Mr. Hammer fireteam chat posted “you’re welcome for the Malfeasance carry, you guys and especially the worthless hunter don’t deserve it” The cluelessness, just stupid self congratulatory idiocy made me see red – I’ve always ignored bad fireteam chat but to be in the presence of greatness and fail to acknowledge it – to even find fault was too terrible an affront to all that is good and right about gaming and team sports. “Smoggy Pluto deserves not just this Malfeasance but ALL Malfeasance’s – I’ve never seen more heroic gameplay – you had front row seats to the greatest spectacle ever performed and spent the entire time at the snack bar”
