*SPOILERS* 'Life of Pi' Dicussion *SPOILERS*
Has anyone here seen Life of Pi? I would very much like to discuss it with someone, but haven't really had a chance to do so.
Why do you think the ship sunk?
Which story do you prefer and why?
Did anyone else notice the carnivorous island was in the shape of a man?

I thought the movie was pretty good, especially with the end where you're left a more feasible ending and a more appealing ending and have to choose which one you believe in.

The 3D and overall direction was fantastic! I especially loved the scene where the boat is floating on the water and the beautiful sky is reflected onto the water. Beautiful movie. The story was good, but not great IMO. I'm not sure why the ship sunk in the movie, and to be honest, I never thought it important enough to think about. The story with his mother, the cook, and the other humans definitely seemed more plausible, but in the end you're rooting for the animal story because you just experienced it. I did not notice that, but that's really interesting especially when Pi finds the flower with the tooth inside it.

Implausible book. An orangutan would totally beat a hyena in a fist fight.

Read the book. Ship sunk due to explosion in the machinery room. I prefer the animal story, because it is easier to handle. No, because I didn't see the movie.
