C'mon you my boys, I'm rooting for you all to clean sweep the pentathlon. I've won a poker torurnment or two in my day, so here is a little advice. You don't alway have to play the percentages. the key to playing a seemingly medocore hand is to see how many on the field are playing a face cards. Let's say your sitting with one of my favorite hands, (any hand that is suited/or not suited and has a ten or a five, but not both, and another card to make a straight .. You shouldn't be the dealer, nor should you be the first to bet with more than five player) clearly state "raise", and raise the hand no more than 3x the bet.(Which you should always do whenever you raise, so they can't read your hand based on your bet.) Now if you get more than 2 callers, your golden; heads up, be leary. Now the flop is the most important state of the game, this is where you make or break your hand. At this point play the percentages, if your smart and know the odds of making your [i]straight[/i], you'll catch them off gaurd, and they will complain about how bad at poke you are, and why the hell you would play such a hand, but we know, it just 'cuse your Old Skool!! If any Old Skooler needs any advice, just ask, as for the rest of pentathletes you can [i]suck it.[/i]
