I can’t help but be EXTREMELY skeptical. What does the unvaulting of content look like in a game who’s been designed around it for years!? Is this a commitment to make things playable again, or make them actually purposeful. I’ll probably play them either way just for the nostalgia, but if they’re half assed into the game as “Legacy” playable activities… I’ll be pissed. Much like the Legacy Kiosk we had previously if there’s no purpose to engage, well then we won’t.
I feel as though a proper integration of this content is almost certainly way beyond the scope of bungie current man power and resources. I’m talking:
- Proper Leveling Adjustments for a MUCH bigger game. If I’m max level by the end of RedWar ready for renegades… what’s the point?!
- Loot System Overhaul. Are the weapons going to be rerolled into our current loot system? Or will they be reissued objectively meaningless novelty pieces? Armor traits?! Is there even going to be new loot, or will it just be more ways to get what’s currently available?
- Power creep Problems. We are so severely, severely over powered relative to the old cut content in the game. What’s the adjustment plan? Is there an adjustment plan? More enemies? Bullet sponges? Light Caps? Etc?
- Overall progression. What does it mean to actually progress. Going back to leveling. If I’m raid ready at Red War, what then is renegades but another activity in a cesspool of similar activities. “Why continue and care about the story when I get big loot from weekly raid?” Maybe implement a chapter system to focus story engagement and a natural story progression relative to playing with the staggered releases of DLC?
If these aren’t addressable then I’m sorry but WHATS THE POINT. Is something like this even achievable given the Destiny is still the “side project” what’s the release window? If it’s years down the line just call it a new game at that point, and do it right. Especially now more than ever I need the clearest, almost overbearing amounts of communication, to even start to rebuild my relationship. Hope it all works out. But I can’t hold my breath any longer.

I have everything from VoG minus the flawless shader. I still play it just for playing it. I will do the same for the old content. Especially the raids I never got to experience. I don't do strikes to gain anything, I do them because I enjoy playing the game. This is a good faith leap from the devs. I'm fairly confident the wrong people in charge of Bungie were removed this last year, so hopefully this is a true leap of faith.

These are valid feedback points, I'm also curious how things will pan out with the return of Sunsetted locations and content, also to the extent of which content. Is it just the beginning and the raid and raid lairs as well as scourge, or is it all the seasonal content alongside it from start to finish. There's a lot of missing content to fill the gaps from over the years from red war to current year D2. I'm curious if this will be implemented over time or as a whole single update. If it's drip fed to the community it would be a good thing in the long run imo, this way we have something to look forward to as time progresses, and would also give Bungie time to cook a possible D3 if they decide to go that route. There is a lot of speculation for certain, but only time will tell, for now we got transparent confirmation and something to look forward to, till then let em cook, give as much feedback as possible for D2, and potentially a D3.
