Witch Queen era appreciation post

Technically this is feedback on a past dlc so it should be okay to post here. I know not everybody appreciates this dlc(Renegades) or what we’ve seen in the past that much, but man, I miss the love in the community from that whole year of witch queen though it’s seldom seen. That was one hell of a banger of a dlc, note that I love most of the DLC’s in game and have a more optimistic, realistic interpretation of the ones that just sucked that most disliked since cope is my only option as a clan leader who wants to keep the game a bit better for those I tend to. But man, I miss witch queen, what a good dlc😄. Everyone had hope, it would be spectacular to see that sort of positivity come back into the series even though that may have been it, I just hope y’all appreciated the ride and don’t look back in anger when this is all done because as much as you may hate it this game had it good and was special and will be forever. It’s not over yet though for those who believe greater and wanna push the companies to do what’s right for it yet though🙂

  • Which Queen was so good, especially the seasons and the light-subclass overhauls. On top of that, the seasons were pretty fun, with the cool activities I’m glad they’re mostly back now. PvP was at its peak here, imo. And then we got origin traits, which made hunting for new gear actually fun and worth the effort.

    After Shadowkeep, I put D2 down for a bit. Skipped Beyond Lame until Witch Queen had a bundle an Got BL and WQ for the low. Beyond Light sucked except for DSC raid which I enjoyed. Witch Queen had a fantastic campaign and the seasons were not bad. For me it was a good time to be back in D2. Then LIGHTFALL just ruined everything. I put this mess behind me. Bungo gets no more time from me

  • i am not sure what was so fun about witch queen tbh... campaign was ok, and once again campaigns represent at best 8h of gameplay for the YEAR since you dont replay those for fun or loots. the destination was as empty as it could be, and the loot in there was and still is bad wellspring was the most boring 6 man activity ever made, and the loot was the same as the destination (aka bad loot), except you had to spend hours in there to get the exotic glaives that also were insanely terrible only good things from witch queen were the raid and void 3.0, the rest was and still is mid or bad.

    It wasnt positive all throughout its run. When it launched, The Mars Relic was the worst kind of crafting in all of gaming (even worse than Warframes) Getting patterns and farming the sleep inducing Wellspring activity for drops as rare as shiny weapons was kinda like portal grinding. Oh, and deepsight chests and sources were nerfed and throttled, and there were all those crafting elements that made no sense. The Story, lore, Raid Boss and Throne World were A++ though. And it's right behind The Final Shape and Forsaken as one of the best. It was the expansion Bungie proved that they could tell an amazing story with TWO compelling villains that were serious threats.

  • Witch Queen had the legendary campaign, then farming Wellspring for useless glaives(not counting Vow Of Symbols) Without the seasons it was Witch Lean People just are expecting brand new experiences out of a decade old game, so they say themselves up for disappointment, and look for things to complain about and don't even look for anything good Sabers are has game changing as the first swords in Taken King, and the Frontiers Extraction Lite is an evolution of gameplay I didn't think was possible Content wise Renegades is better than Witch Queen

    • It was truly the last great expansion in my opinion, The Final Shape didn't even come close in comparison. Between Lightfall and Edge of Fate, all three combined aren't able to touch the magic of that single DLC. Wasn't the biggest fan of Risen and a lot of the community was absent during Plunder, but Haunted and Seraph were outstanding seasons. Crafting was new and while not anywhere near what I was hoping to see while also being very time consuming and expensive, it was still good to be able to work towards getting a perfect roll.

      • Hot take: Bungie needs to release two well received expansion packs in a row. The on again, off again thing is hurting the franchise, making it hard to get excited.

      • I transitioned from blueberry casual to dedicated D2er because of [i]Witch Queen[/i]. I seriously miss those days! Season of Plunder was [b]INCREDIBLE[/b]! Nothing like stacking up with homies to run [i]Master Wellspring[/i], [i]Master Ketchcrash[/i] and [i]Legendary Dares[/i]! And it was [b]ALWAYS[/b] exciting as people were collecting patterns and alloys to build with! I miss those days :'( I miss my friends!

      • Bungie should have just made that campaign free and more aggressively funneled players towards Witch Queen once they get through the tutorial between its release and Final Shape, both to make sure they unlocked crafting and introduce the world with a narrative that actually felt like it was written to be new player friendly.

        • I started D2 during that period and it was so close to perfect (for me) that I bought every expansion I could after that. Until EoF. But it is because of the Witch Queen era that I have not moved on completely because I am waiting for Bungle to wake up and make the game good again. Like it was back then.

          Best bit about witch queen was all subclasses got a revamp and even the campaign wasn't too hard or too difficult .Then enemies 2.0 happened which some streamers hyped so much probably knowing full well bungie would lose over 50% of its playerbase due to difficulty increases and feeling the need to watch a tutorial on yt that slaps you with loads of 60 sec adds 😆 .pointless nerfs came during the same time well got nuked same for titan barricade cooldown/ bubble nerf and hunters got there beyblades nerfed aswel as smokes an tether Bungie thought because of the praise of the legendary campaign that we wanted that everywhere lmao hence neuroma ,beyond light/ witchqueen / lightfall and the final shape all had great cutscenes ,comes to renegades the cutscenes we get are great but it felt like we only got like 3 cutscenes in total (saving drifter ,saber fight and the end in space i generally cannot remember if there was any more than that
