Well for what it is worth, I had it with cheaters and poor multiplayer conditions in this game.
1. Cheating
It is beyond ridiculous. In almost every game there are peoples using cheats. I thought this was bad 1 year ago, but now it has been taken to a whole new level. If someone wonders why there is such a decline in the player base for PvP - look no further.
2. Matchmaking and P2P hybrid model
When one match up with mostly peoples in other continents, you understand that there are way to few players playing PvP. On top of that there is no servers - only the "P2P Hybrid Model" implemented to save money. Bungie knows that this setup is below par, and instead of being honest about it they have gone to great lengths to hide the information. Currently there is no way to identify your own latency, lag, jitter etc. Same goes for the other players one play against. Those functions that previously gave us this information has all been removed by Bungie. So I guess it is best strategy is to sweep your dirt under the carpet and remove all possibilities for others to check it.
I guess Bungie will try to milk the last drops out of this game with a couple more expansions and season passes etc. However this game will need to be reengineered from bottom in order to stay competitive in years to come. Sadly I find it hard to believe there is any willingness from the decision makers in Bungie to do so. Take my advice and invest your money and time in a game and studio that actually cares about it's players.

1 RespuestaSort of makes you wonder about theose "highly skilled" players who are adamant about cheating being rare... Cheating is commonplace in this game.

2 RespuestasYou are a bronze player, I’m pretty sure you couldn’t identify cheating unless they were using flying or speed hacks + aimbot. That being said this is not an airport, you do not need to announce your departure.

1 RespuestaD2 have been a great success over the years. Estimates suggest that Destiny 2 has a cumulative player base of around 49.3 million players across all platforms. However the decline in the player base has been ongoing for the last several years. Daily player counts vary significantly, with estimates ranging from 272,000 to 800,000 daily players across all platforms in 2023. On Steam specifically, the average daily player count in December 2024 was 24,826 marking an all-time low. In contrast, the peak concurrent player count on Steam reached 314,379 in June 2024 with the The Final Shape expansion release. We also know that PC accounts for roughly 40% of the player base, with the remainder split between PlayStation and Xbox. PvP modes, primarily in the Crucible, attract a smaller portion of the player base compared to PvE activities. PvP players estimated roughly to be 10-15% of the total population at any given time. On July 1, 2020, approximately 728,000 out of 1.18 million daily players participated in PvP In 2024 PVP made up only 7% of playtime in April/May. So let us say 7 % of 50.000 players then. That is about 3.500 active daily players in PVP as of June 2025. Matchmaking Issues: Over the last 2-3 weeks 3 out 4 matches starts with 5vs5 in Crucible. Sometimes even 4vs5. Even at game end it is common to be 5vs6 or even 5vs5 still. That says alot about the player pool for PvP. Cheaters: Let me put it simple. We talk about those who uses aimbot, wallhack, radar hack also know as soft cheats. The morons flying around the map, or even make themselves 40 x larger etc are just mofos who don't care if they are banned or not. Layoffs Impacting Anti-Cheat: A 2023 Forbes article highlighted that layoffs at Bungie, including members of the Player Security team, led to a surge in cheaters, particularly in Trials of Osiris. This issue has carried into 2025, with players like streamer GernaderJake calling Trials “unplayable” due to rampant cheating. Community Observations: Read the posts. There are so many stating the game is “dying a slow death due to neglect” from cheaters and device users (e.g., XIM/Cronus for aim assist). Anti-Cheat Measures: Bungie implemented BattleEye anti-cheat in 2021, which initially reduced cheating significantly. However, its effectiveness has waned, with players reporting that “AI aimbots” are now harder to detect. Bungie’s ban rates have increased historically (e.g., from 656 bans per week pre-Season of the Worthy to 2,133 post-launch in 2020), but 2025 data suggests a slowdown in enforcement due to reduced security staff.

I report players regularly (but I'm sick of doing so) and have had Steam ban players before Bungie does.
-
Wait till the new raid comes out with cheaters will again get their emblem. Cheaters don't feel bad about cheating until net limiting gets banned.
-
Cheating is absolutely rampant right now. Multiple games of 6s and cheaters in all but one game. Those who deny are either cheaters or gaslighting you.

3 RespuestasYeah I mean you are almost at my level of pvp from the looks of stata, not far off. And I'm pretty bad. I'm top 3 half of my games and do have some sick games. But I still know I'm at the extreme low end. I have never ran into a cheater, and tbf if I would I kinda wouldn't care because of my low elo. I mean how is it ruining your games? If someone at my elo has to cheat he is 100% killable by a ok player.
