IB PvP experience as non-pvp player
Decided to play IB to rank 4 for that stupid sidearm.
How bad can it be? Maybe like 2-3 losses and 2 wins to get to 4?
Well...
1. Matchmaking:
takes forever goes to 12/12 several times but fails to load. Go afk for 5+ minutes still not loaded in jfc.
Not even getting started on that one minute blackscreen between "match intro" and match start.
2. Balancing:
i know i suck, but loosing every match with maybe one being close, but all others were pure stomps. Mainly 2-3 Stacks in enemy team. It's to the point to, "why even try". Getting steamrolled and teamshot by stacks is fun. lol
Decided to be "afk" and clean up my vault the last two matches.
3. Connection/Hit registration:
There were many instances where i know i didn't hit my shots but still managed kills. To a point where i was shaking my head in disbelief how bad the hit registration was. It's obvious also the other way around sometimes. But mainly it feels so very off. Is that the aimassist or just bad net code?
Overall: 0/5 wouldn't do it again, even if my life would depend on it. Just shoot me in the head.

I was having severe hit registration issue.. my connection is fine and I am probably being matched against players from south asia (I m in US) low player population severely affecting the pvp playlitst

Idk I played a lot and experienced some lag towards peak hours. I had a good string of matches that were decent.

My experience was the same as yours… Also, the gameplay seems to be “managed”. It’s nothing like PVE. Movement, gunplay etc appear to be partially under ai control. Maybe it’s mixing pc & console that creates weirdness.

Think I played 3 for rank 4 and got enough engrams to get 4 more sidearms. IB itself was exactly as expected. Total crap. But the sidearm is fun.

1 RespuestaI am a below average PVP player and had pretty much the opposite experience. 21-20 in 41 games, maybe 5 mercy's and most were competitive. Load times were never more than a few minutes and as a solo I rarely faced stacks. I did experience lagging players but not that often, my biggest complaint would be the TTK, it often seemed like the mode was Momentum instead of IB. Were you playing eruption or control? I did play a few of eruption inadvertently and my experience was exactly as you described.

I did this for years. Shiny thing only available in banner? Ok, I'll go in there and see if indifference can get me it. (Many stories of Gjally rewarded to the afk nightfall player in d1. I got an efrideet's spear god roll just -blam!- around with a friend in ib.) The thing is, it still works. Pretend to play but screw up purposely - your rewards will be better. Also - one thing learned the [i]hard[/i] way. - If you play continuously your rewards will decrease to nothing. Take breaks. The game rewards returning players, so play and leave continuously if you wanrt good loot. By leave I mean weeks at a time. When I see posts saying 'I completed X raid 500000 times and didn't get X reward' I just cringe inside. Stop playing for a moment.

6 RespuestasMy question is: Who the heck actually complained that the mercy rule activated too easily?!! Now it’s not activated sometimes until the enemy team is 5-10 points away from winning anyway. My guess is it wasn’t the players who thought they might have a shot to come back. It was the ones who wanted to further inflate that kd and feel like gods humiliating the other team.

4 RespuestasI can see everything except the last happening.... Lol, I have never missed a shot and "had it hit" before. That's wild. The closest I have come to that is with the melee auto-track, but, even then, it wasn't anything I couldn't explain. Balancing isn't great right now. It feels like SBMM isn't present at all in games, especially when stacking in a group.

Yeah PvP especially control just isn’t for new players ! I just had a game with the same trio I’ve encountered the last few days and they are cracked and play control religiously. There’s just no point playing against them as you know exactly the outcome come as soon as the game starts which is pointless to play so don’t blame people for quitting .

It’s like bridge trolling mode when I’m on auto pilot just grinding games. What annoys me still though is engrams still don’t drop on wins 100%. They absolutely should. And why are weapons 25k still to focus? lm not Elon paying people to grind for me, I do have commitments in the material world. Thank god I got my air trigger chill clip /loose change chill clip/impulse chill clip rolls back to back to back last time out on about 44 or 45th engrams focused. Played so much yet still didn’t gild, which is odd. Next season without the grenade mods that sidearm going to be pretty meta I’m thinking. GL.

1 RespuestaNo, you have a crap IB experience because most players can't IB/don't give a f***/love to lose (and it has nothing to do with the aim or being good). - 5 to cap A and no one to rush B at the beginning = defeat - flip spawns instead of holding A+B and racking kills = defeat - leave heavies to the opposite team = defeat

Getting wins is easy... as long as you know how to play the game. I've accumulated plenty of losses this past week. Teaming up with my friend, who hasn't played the franchise since Destiny, I've tried teaching them how to use their character again. Their skill level and knowledge of the game isn't as vast as mine. As a two-stack we've had plenty of losses where I'm usually the top player on my team and most often they're at the very bottom. Of course, having a horrible connection doesn't help make winning any easier.

My experience as a non-PvP player was that matchmaking and balance was non-existent with mostly being at the bottom (as I should be) and sometimes at the top (which ... just ... no) and our top player having the same KDA as the opponents' weakest player. BUT I enjoyed the time enough to play several rounds even though we were being slaughtered literally half the time and isn't that really what counts at the end of the day?

My experience was pretty gud I'm crap but love PvP had lots of close matches ok sum blowouts which is expected I'm from UK and I found wasn't much lag even in early hours which surprised me mayb it depends on time U play where U from etc because when I went back in iron banner after I rested about 11ish in morning I was in alot matches that were like 6 v 3 what I learnt was hunters in really gud players hands r horrible to play against as a warlock main

There’s an issue that has been around since the launch of D2. Sometimes you are about to load into a game, but then you return to orbit and it says 11/12 players. This happens over and over again, so your best bet is to exit the matchmaking and try again.

They made it solo’s vs solos and fireteams vs fireteams with solos filling any empty spots a bit back but the population has dropped that much match making can no longer supports that. If you want a better chance at winning use LFG to put a team together.
