There are three Episodes scheduled for the current year (we are currently in the first week of Act I for the first of these Episodes), and there is an expansion (edit: or something codenamed Frontiers, anyway) planned for next year as revealed in a vidoc released six days ago (warning for minor story spoilers):

No expansion next year, 9 episodes over next 3 years then new game

Where’s your source for that?

New game started being built late 22, it's at least a 5 year build, as a per a destiny dev on Reddit in February. Everyone working on marathon to hit release of early 26 to trigger final Sony payment then those guys are being put on the D3 build, as per several Devs who since left bungie. 1st episode started by showing a little, explosion with 9 little off shoots, thinking is those show the 9 episodes. When Microsoft were looking at buying a bungie a trusted Xbox guy said bungies plan was a new destiny game with new console launch around 2028 & was bungies target, then in the court case months later Phil Spencer said he expects new consoles in 2028, which was the 1st official dating, proving the leaker wasn't making things up. He's very highly regarded in the Xbox leak scene as being close to the top at MS Plus all the destiny leaks over the last few years which forecast a Marathon delay to 26, no destiny expansion in 25 so the full studio can hit the latest release day to trigger Sony bonuses. There's lots of little clues & pointers & they all point destiny 3 being real but being at least 3 years away, a perfect gap for 9 episodes. If there was anything new next year you'd know a name by now. Oh DMG who left bungie as lead CM because he didn't think there was a future in destiny, recently got rehired as destiny lead cm & said it's gonna be a long time before we know what's really next in the destiny universe but there's something we're building up to slowly.

All I got from reading this is that there’s nothing official, so then there is nothing confirming or denying what you’re proclaiming.

Of course it's not official, they can't say anything because a lot of it is in flux & anynconcrete news will potentially affect FS sales & population numbers. If they say now 9 episodes people will peace out & that will affect the D2 population, income etc etc it's basic business. I get what I wrote was a little put together mish mash, I'd just had a nap after an early morning. I read everything I can & try not to repeat things I don't believe to hold weight. There's always a small chance frontiers is an expansion, maybe just planned recently, but a new game is years away & they'd likely have a name for an expansion & not a codename, they 100% want marathon marketed next year with no interference & that has to release by the first half of 26, that's contractual as per Sony's buyout, then will follow staff loseps as people get paid & move on, Sony expect this, which is why the valorant lead was brought in to take over marathon to make sure it's in safe hands if a mass exodus happens, marathon was rebooted & lost staff to final shape so was delayed quite recently, that's official. It was supposed to be destiny, then concentrate on marathon & matter, let destiny chill, then get back to destiny once the other 2 were up & running & run 3 games. But after, or during, the buyout, a Sony head visited Seattle & matter was properly cancelled & D3 became a real thing, this was from a laid off dev & everything he said about FS was 100% accurate. DMG being rehired too, as destiny cm, shows there's a long way to go for destiny, he would never come back if there was no long term future in the game
