SMG damage is way out of hand and range has to be dropped off

1 RespuestaThe main problem with further SMG nurfs is the fact that Bungie dosn't make changes like this to just PVP or PVE. SMGs baring a few exceptions underwhelming in PVE. If further nurfs to range and damage are made they will fall to the point were they are useless in comparison to other weapon types. Personally I believe we should continue to encourage bungie to start balancing each class of content independently.

7 RespuestasBoth Autos and SMG’s should not be out-damaging Handcannons and Pulses imo. The forgiveness for missing your shots on full auto weapons (sprayers like autos and smg’s) is far higher than when you miss a shot with precision weapons like a HC or Pulse. They should be low risk low reward; not low risk high reward. Reduce auto & smg range and boom, problem solved.

It’s 3rd party scum/trash that make smgs. On console anyway. Peacekeepers for some.

I dont use smgs in PVP but Why is damage "Out of Hand" , because they actually kill you ? What is the line of normal and "Out of Hand" damage ? , to where they are not a threat at all and easily beaten by your favorite meta? Your just another snowflake -blam!- because you died in crucible, and want everyone else to adapt so you won't have to, and that is true of every entitled self absorbed whiner who makes a nerf post!!

Alright, which class of Guardian schooled you with Immortal in PVP? If I had to guess, it started with a T, wielding Imm & Peacek's? Is this a PVE nerf post or PVP nerf post for all SMGs? Remember, weapons that get nerfed for PVP, also get "adjusted" for PVE.

I agree, Funnelweb was nerfed too hard and needs its Witch Queen buffs and range back, those were the best days.

14 RespuestasSMGs don't have a ton of room to work with... Under 15m, sidearms are better (and shotguns, fusions). Over 25m, handcannons and auto rifles are better. Additionally, it is difficult to get high Stability, Range, and Handling on SMGs. You have to sacrifice one stat or the other. Target Lock is a perk that many point to when considering whether SMGs are too strong. The TTK of an Immortal with Target Lock is 0.67s. The TTK of an Unedning Tempest with Target Lock is 0.7s. To put that into perspective, the base TTK of a Messenger is 0.67s. Practically all sidearms kill faster than Target Lock SMGs. In my opinion, SMGs are only "broken" when paired with Peacekeepers, but that's more a reflection of how strong PKs are than a reflection of how strong SMGs are.

Could not agree more. I’m sick of running fun precision weapons and getting cooked in a millisecond by those two. Absolutely ridiculous
