I've played since D1 beta and I have NEVER seen so many server issues. This is ridiculous. I'm an avid Destiny fan, but I'll not purchase the next expansion is this continues. Enough is enough.

3 RespuestasDestiny players losing their -blam!- when there's a server problem once every two to three months is endlessly entertaining to me.
-
3 RespuestasProbably the same old servers from Forsaken launch years ago. Lol

5 RespuestasBest Answer:: If you've been playing BungLe games since ODST, you're LITERALLY on the exact same servers. And that's the whole story.
-
These servers runnin on a dorito chip or somethin

1 RespuestaEditado por Toots238857: 4/16/2023 2:37:43 PMAnd they have the nerve to talk about "Breach of Trust". Seriously. How many times do they think we will keep falling for the BS? They're probably pissed that they have to address this AGAIN, instead of working on more recycled content to sell back to us.

1 RespuestaGuys, guys, relax! Bungie is a small indie company. Give them a break. You guys have never spilled some Latte before? It happens sometimes. 😂👍 But a good question still stands. What did Sony even buy from Bungie for $3.6 BILLION? Movie rights, perhaps?

They have had so many problems since beyond light…Only gotten worse.
-
They are too busy accusing people of leaking stuff.

1 RespuestaNew trials weapon and GMs starting in the same week, bungie probably wind down server capacity and didn’t anticipate the numbers they have playing
-
3 RespuestasI never had issues with the server :)

1 RespuestaEditado por ojroberts2010: 4/16/2023 10:44:17 PMYes,as the consumer you should deserve more than broken servers. Also you should not have to have deserve this if you have been a frequent money supporter on there behalf.
-
1 RespuestaBecause bungie is not willing to invest money into proper support for the live service game that they sell us.
-
2 RespuestasI’ve also played since D1 beta. We’re literally playing on old halo servers we need a new engine but bungie doesn’t acknowledge it. Smh
-
Because they're still using their original servers from Halo.

Editado por blade329: 4/16/2023 7:35:46 PMI can't imagine why their state of the art servers are having issues.

1 RespuestaI'm beginning to wonder if the game has become too complex and the servers are crashing due to integer overflow. Before I go further, I would like to say I am not a game developer or coder. Nor am I trying to fear monger about the end of the game. I am simply stating a pattern I have seen before in a completely different game that probably has no bearing on the current situation. This is a theory and nothing more, but I'd like input on it. With that said, and I'll try to keep this brief, the game is starting to do what happens in late game modded stellaris. Now that game is horribly optimized, but is infamous for late game lag, even in unmoved games. This is because the game checks populations to do job updates, add pops, etc. This becomes a problem when there are thousands of pops that have to each be counted. Each pop may be in a sub species category that just increases the complexity. The game freezes, then crashes after a while. Eventually the save dies entirely and can't be recovered. Now how does this relate to destiny? Look at our weapons, hundreds if not thousands of combinations, spread across millions of players. If the game checks them to verify they are legit, that's alot of work. There is also old code that was from launch that still is probably being checked. Since people like hoarding weapons for any possible situation, there are a lot of weapons (and armor) that is likely being checked to ensure its valid and its where its supposed to be. For example, say 500k players have half the vault filled with weapons (300 weapons). That's. 15 million unique items that the system needs to track. Then there is constant equipment switching, using the app to move gear, etc. There is quite alot of things going on in the background. Why now? Honestly, I don't know. Maybe it's because we keep getting more and more gear. I'd like to know thoughts on this. I think the only way to fix some of these issues (IF I am right) is delete stuff. Which I know people aren't happy about but it may be necessary. They could start with things like uncommon gear, and simplifying ghosts to be ornaments rather unique items. There is also old items like tokens and planet materials that haven't been used in forever. This would also likely mean they would need to almost completely renovate the game, like a operation health like siege had. This was longer than I expected, but I'd like to know any thoughts on this. Once again I have not understanding of these things and I'm just going off of experience with a completely different game.

1 RespuestaCorrect me if I'm wrong, but I do believe it's the game engine itself is pushed to the limits as its outdated as hell and every little addition to the game can push the engine over the edge. We need d3 mostly for that reason alone. It's too limiting

This, exactly this ☝️
