Making players do grandmaster for a weekly challenge is a terrible idea
For starters, most players aren't high enough light to do it. This is due to a variety of reasons (like bad RNG), but the worse part is that it's impossible to grind high enough to get there in a week if you're not already there or very nearly there now.
"But you have all season"
Except the passage of time exists and we have less than half a season remaining to complete it.
Don't get me wrong, I understand encouraging players to try new activities. However, something like 80-85% of your player base literally [b][i]can't launch the activity[/i][/b] because they're so far down the ladder.
Maybe give endgame players a separate list of challenges to complete or something, but these challenges took the place of weekly bounties and now you're gating it exclusively to people who play for hours every day.
Bungo, weekly bounties were universally accessible by every player, new light through no lifer. These new weekly challenges are not, and players who want to do them can't magically improve by 20+ light levels to do it, likely even in the remainder of the season because RNG exists and nobody is that lucky in this game.
I know a trials one is coming soon too, and that'll be another "only for the top 10%" challenge.
If we have to complete all of them to get the bright dust reward at the end of the season, that's going to be a huge slap to the face to players, especially the ones actually trying to level up and can't because RNG keeps feeding them the same useless leg armor over and over again.
One more thing, I'm season rank 112 and even if my light were, say, 1310, I [b][i]still[/i][/b] wouldn't be high enough light to do a Grandmaster. You have to basically no life the game to be at 1325 at this point.

Grand master anything is a great addition to the game and all the rewards tied to them. But I totally agree, to have it as part of a weekly bounty is absurd. A triumph, yes of course. I'm lucky enough to be able to play religiously every day for 4 or 5 hours. At present I am 1321 with power bonus. Even with the best RNG possible, it might take me another 2 weeks to get high enough to take part. Then what will I do, solo it? By all means, put challenging endgame stuff in Destiny, but have a think Bungie. Not everyone can get high enough power level, not everyone is fortunate to drop the gear needed for this kind of activity, not everyone is a content creator and has friends in the same clique who can group up and farm constantly to get ahead, and not everyone has a fireteam to jump in with. So don't include such high end activities just for a bounty. What will be in next weeks challenge.....going flawless in trials? ( If it comes back).

5 RespuestasDo all activities until you hit 1300 at the start of a season. At 1300 do all pinnacles then do powerfuls to even out. Repeat until 1310 with one item in each slot. Proceed to play activities you enjoy to finish upgrading the rest of your gear to max. Hit 1310 with all gear. Don't waste time doing activities that net you nothing. Yes we enjoy some more then others but if you're going to have a completionist mindset then you need to be willing to approach the game with that attitude. I do no more then the required bounties to get powerful drops. I do not bounty farm. I am 1329. I play 2-3 nights a week. I use a ghost with +12% exp, I turn in bounties with my friends to max out return. This week I logged on helped my brother do his pinnacles to hit 1325. Did the grandmaster and am done for the week. I will log on next Tuesday. Do the seasonal quests, the new GM and be done. I will repeat this single night of play for the rest of the season while ppl continue to think I no life a game that I just have played so long I've got down and have a plan for. I wish you all luck on your crusade. If bungie does indeed get rid of this quest that is fine, I did it already and will do GMs until I have the conquerer title. Whatever makes everyone happy lol.

1 RespuestaIt's also a joke that we are forced to win 7 trials games as well. If they fix China's funtimes, then idk how people are going to bother with such a broken activity that also bars out new-lights (even if they are 1300 by now) and power-gates wins.

8 RespuestasThere seems to be a lot of arguing about this and I feel a lot of people are missing the point. It isn't about high end content, the fact there are grand master nightfalls is brilliant as far as I'm concerned, for what I believe is a minimal outlay for bungie they can add activities that are challenging for the top players, all good. What the issue is, is that when you tie that activity to a weekly challenge (effectively a bountie) which should be accessible to ALL players, no matter their level. This is the problem. It's similar to adding quest steps that go against the objective of the game mode or that cause detrimental issues for your team mates. These are just bad design decisions, and ones that bungie seem to constantly make. If they are not called out on them then they will keep adding them in. Who wants to have to camp heavy to complete a quest steps, no one. The most recent example. Personally I believe tieing a GM nightfall to a challenge is a terrible move and obviously a lot of other people agree. Some don't, but it would be good to hear why instead of insults and decrying 'casuals' and just 'git gud' comments.

4 Respuestas1325 isn't no lifing the game. You can barely play and hit 1325 easily. I'm sorry you have to put in a tiny bit of effort? They made leveling easier then it's ever been light level wise and season pass XP wise.

I lfg’d it; it’s really not that hard to be 1325. Just do your weekly pinnacles and Dane bounties. And you have like a month and a half to do only one gm; sounds like you’re just lazy

Idk, I ran three of them last night, stasis, void, solar, just need to do my arc run. All runs went smooth, and one of them was a no mic run. I’m not the average player so I cant relate.

9 RespuestasI didn't mind arc burn omnigul as much as I hate GM's. Just too much cramming people into a specific layout. My two challenges that don't have to be completed are already default GM NF and Trials wins. Win 7 rounds in Trials is a step in week 8 for those who don't already know.

When i looked at LFG’d, i saw Posts that needs 1325+, or the Person who want Help in GM be like 1324, 1313, pretty silly. After my first Successful run of GM, i wouldn’t see Vandals the same ever again. From Raids, Dungeons, Nightfalls, GM Nightfalls is the most intense experience imo.

2 RespuestasYou’re overestimating the effort it takes to hit 1325. I wouldn’t say you have to “no life the game” but it does take effort and some time as it should. Also be aware that you do not have to complete every challenge to get the reward, you must complete 75. That should leave it so there are a couple challenges you can skip. Also it’s only asking to do 1 GM nightfall and you have multiple weeks left to hit 1325 and simply complete 1. It’s not a huge ask just because you cannot complete it this week.

2 RespuestasYeah you don't have to do every challenge to do the big challenge. Also I think youre over estimating the effort to get to 1325. I'm personally glad bungie is incentivising people engaging in end game activities. As doing some is not the massive no life time sink people seem to think it is. This season I decided I wouldn't do any pinnacles for "just the pinnacle" basically if I didn't wanna do something I wouldn't do it for the pinnacle. So I do about 9 pinnacles per character a week. (5 come from a raid that can easily take under and hour to clear). I'm 1309 base and 1331 with relic. The challenges are way better exp than the weekly bounties and even doing 1/2 of them is so much better than weekly bounties. I'm almost past the season level I had at the end of last season haha. Tldr its not the end of the world and doing end game activities doesn't mean you have to no life. Neither does getting a decent level.

2 RespuestasTotally agree with you .. I got fed up of Bungie bullshit, they really have no idea anymore .. My best feeling of late as regards Destiny is, I quit playing it .. I stay on the forums though for entertainment, It also reaffirms my decision to quit playing .. I am currently playing a demo (Outriders), which is less buggy and more polished than Destiny's full game .. Trolls and fanboys .. Please try to ignore this post, lmao

3 RespuestasAgreed 100%. I usually play with my wife. We don't do raids and we don't do trials but we both run three characters and generate 15,000 clan points per week each. The seasonal event was a goal for us to reach but had we known there would be tasks that aren't available to all players we probably wouldn't have dedicated so much time to the quest. It just sucks when trying to complete seasonal events that it requires this high a level to participate. If you play trials and want a trial award, fine. If you do raids and want raid rewards, fine. Why are seasonal events not accessible to everyone?

I just wish the trash mobs weren't as tanky making them more lethal or behave less predictably would've been nice.
