Depends if your fire team has them equipped are not. The first few parts of the strike you really don’t need them but at the end you will.

Lament has shield piercing tho, right? So it doesnt matter if i have a pulse rifle with a shield mod or lament, right?

The boss has shields and the mini boss... see how your lament will work against that.. 2-3 hits from the boss will instantly kill you.
