Ever since the beyond light release with some of the lighting changes the HDR on Mercury & Nessus are nearly unplayable. I'm seeing so much dark crush and severe red tints. I've spent nearly 4 hours changing settings on my Tv and my Xbox nothing has worked so I'm only assuming it's an in game issue. Please help as this makes the game unplayable for me.
Edit 1 - for those confused on why I'm saying Mercury & Nessus even after the planets disappeared I'm referencing PvP maps.
Also heard earth can be bad to.
-
Same here. Its like when I get into a dark area my lighting almost has a negetive filter over it

You may also try to set Black Gamma to 2. If you don't have the Xbox, until you find one. PS4 includes another tool, but not has thorough.

They've never been able to get the blacks right.

4 RespuestasIt looks great for me. I have a 60hz lg and a series x.

I can’t use HDR now. I can’t see shit in dark areas. I’ve attempted adjusting the light and dark settings too.
-
I’m seeing atrocious dithering in areas where dark meets light, where they’d overlap, especially with a nearby fluctuating light source. It is reminiscent of early 1990s low-color issues. Looks bad.
-
Yeah, EDZ is EXTREMELY bad. Like someone maxed out the brightness on my tv. Haven't noticed it on pc yet, so i'm guessing it's a console issue.

Editado por No Kings: 11/14/2020 3:46:00 PMYeah, me too. I just posted a comment in feedback about it myself. Destiny's dark areas have always been too dark but since I upgraded to a 4K TV and began using HDR, dark areas are just black, opaque spheres to me. I can see and discern nothing. I've tried everything on my PS4 Pro's settings, my TV's settings and within the game's video settings to fix this. Nothing has helped. It's the Destiny Black Hole Effect, on steroids. Clearly I'm not the only one who's dealing with this. For the record, areas that have a decent amount of light look amazing, like the D2 Cosmodrome for example. So much better than the D1 version. But those dark areas really, really suck.

On PC on some maps dark tones are now Blue ... ?!?
-
Turn hdr off in settings reload d2 than change brightness to 4 switch hdr back on problem solved mine was too bright on series x that sorted it

3 RespuestasNot having this issue on ps4 outside of my ship in orbit.
-
My buddy experienced this in Pit of Heresy last night
-
6 RespuestasTurn off hdr. Problem solved. Bungie has never been able to get hdr right
-
I’ve had the same issue and I’m so relieved it’s not my brand new tv or Xbox
-
Editado por GoingMobile: 11/13/2020 10:36:44 PMAh, and I thought it was just me as well. Dark areas now appear as almost a "negative" or a kind of crazy awful 80s music video washed out pastel effect I'm on PS4 Pro by the way, so looks like it's the game not the console
-
Bump as this need to be seen
-
Yeah certain areas look absolutely awful
-
5 RespuestasI've not noticed this at all... What type of display are you using?
-
2 RespuestasTurn off the HDR tf even is that anyway
-
Omg just did the strike on Nessus and holy hell has Bungie messed up again, all my guns just looked like black smudge. Everything is fine on Europa, whatever updates they have done to the game it’s messed up the old planets
-
I'm having same issue on PC since launch of bl. It looks terrible no matter what I do. Some performance issues all the sudden too.

5 RespuestasEditado por Oelepap: 11/13/2020 11:44:16 AMI was having the same issue. Everything looked horrible. Colors looked false and no smooth transition from light to dark areas. Like you I tried everything within my TV and XBOX and Playstation settings. But now I found an article on the Internet that changed everything for me. Try this: Enable HDR on your console and TV, start Destiny 2 and go to settings and choose video. Go to "brightness" (not sure how they call it in English, I am playing the German version) where you can set the white and dark point for HDR. IGNORE the instruction and just move both sliders in the middle position (you need to confirm each change with A (XBOX) or X (on Playstation)). When this is done, take a look at your picture. I hope this has the same effect for you that it had for me. It went from the most horrible picture quality to one of the best looking HDR games I have seen so far. It is ridiculous. There instructions are wrong and make you completely screw up HDR. I hope this was helpful. Kind regards Olaf

I thought it was just me! Or my new X series or TV, glad to know it's a d2 thing because I was getting worried and honestly playing like ass because of it haha! Like inside at A on Burnout looking down to outside I can see anything! And heaps or red and green algae looking crap all over the place. Kinda looks psychedelic but really impairs my ability to play at even 75% in those situations.

1 RespuestaSame here on Xbox one X.

2 RespuestasEditado por BloodS1ay3r: 11/13/2020 10:54:17 PMYeah! Like everything has weird red and green fog in places. Its odd. I thought it was just me! Im on One X
