I just played through the Forsaken Mechanist’s mission on Xbox and the Drake Tank refused to go backwards. Whenever I pulled down on the left stick I accelerated forward (usually into a wall). I noticed that the tread cover things wouldn't move to the back of my tank so it might have something to do with that. Because of this the only way to turn around was to make a massive circle and strafing was out of the question. About halfway through the mission I got myself stuck in a corner (what a surprise) there was still a wall in my path so I ended up having to destroy the tank so I could respawn it, using most of my heavy ammo in the process :( If someone else made a tread about this before me whoops sorry, but there is no bloody search bar on this forum.
