To my mind this game needs to be re-thought from the ground up. Here are my biggest WTF things that need to be changed.
1. Limit on raid rewards. I can understand if pinnacles only dropped the first time per character, per week. But if I want to play your raid again and again for a chance to get a raid exotic, sparrow, shader, or mod, why in god's name must I wait a week to do so.
2. Armor elemental affinity has ruined an otherwise amazing armor update. I have the feeling that someone very high up must have made this call, because continuing to defend this makes absolutely no sense. If an idea is bad, just get rid of it (no matter whose idea it was). Allowing us to change the affinity is just adding (very expensive) garnish to a turd. It's still a turd.
3. Why are there no meaningful tutorials for new players!?!?! I, for one, will never recommend this game in its current state to a friend EVER again. I have brought about 20 people into Destiny and all but one of them have quit playing. Why? Because they spent four weeks just trying to understand the convoluted armor, mods, and light level stuff. I invested a lot of time into each one of them (including hours upon hours helping them navigate the 4 dozen quests you drop on them after the singular mission that makes up new light). The learning curve is far too steep.
4. The state of LFG is almost completely a symptom of your game design choices. I get it, Bungie. You want us to make friends for life in your game and you make raids and other endgame content around this concept. Raids aren't hard for me because I have been with you since 2014. I get my clears in early in the season so that I don't get caught behind the "must have 10+ clears" wall. But most of your players do get caught behind that wall. When I do a teaching raid it fills up in seconds. People are dying to get in and learn the mechanics. People are dying to play your game. And I, for one, am tired of doing your job for you. I do teaching raids to preserve the ecosystem of the game I love. But I am getting exhausted, Bungie.
5. We have too many useless weapons. Why not drop this weekly elemental singe crap that no one pays attention to and give weekly buffs to different weapon types. I have collected so very cool guns that just sit in my vault because almost anything can be solved with [REDACTED TO PREVENT NERF] in my primary and [REDACTED TO PREVENT NERF] in my heavy slot. And half the time I just use [REDACTED TO PREVENT NERF] in my secondary slot because why not, it does the job. I want to use other weapons without having to justify the drop in DPS. Rather than nerf powerful things, give us times, encounters, etc when we can be rewarded for having a diverse collection of cool shit.
6. Oh yeah... go ahead and give me another Ten Paces hand-cannon. I dare you.
7. WTF is the point of having 3 characters? Titans should have the occasional Titan thing to do. Like defend a wall or fight back a breach of the city walls. Warlocks should be out searching the darkness, unraveling mysteries and what not. Hunters should be scouting, running recon, assassinating HFTs or something. Hell even different dialogue, or choices, or -blam!-ing anything. Right now the only reason my Titan and Warlock exist is for weekly raid drops (see #1 above) and to make different meaningless choices with the Drifter. Either let us have one guardian with three different suits (like Anthem) or develop reasons for us to have all three.
Look this game does a lot of things right. I am not trying to be a hater. But if we are to keep this ecosystem healthy, you need to take a long hard look in the mirror. I didn't bring up PVP because I am not sure that can be fixed short of having dedicated servers and better matchmaking.

Liked post, because it's THE TRUTH!

I agree with points 1-5.

Editado por AbsolutZeroGI: 2/17/2020 6:01:46 PMYou got the up vote from me for #7. The story telling in the game used to be one of its strongest things compared to other shooters (who plays COD for the story?). It was a little thing, but I remember in D1 having to report to Ikora way more often because she was my vanguard as a warlock. Not quite what you're talking about but it runs along the same lines. Now? "Defeat many bad in quick horde mode because reasons!" I miss saving the universe from evil. I don't care about fractaline. Also, linearity in the story is a mechanic that helps new people that Bungie completely threw out the window. It was a problem in D1 too. I started at the taken King and I had no idea where to start, let alone where to go next. Also, I have just shy of 90 raid completions and over 70 sherpas. Teaching people to raid is this game's last great challenge.

Outstanding list, being a new player I spend way too much time thinking WTF do they want me to do now and don't care about being forced on a blind date to be able to advance. I suck at raids and most of the other "team" jump around and kill things until you find the magic chest someone else has opened. Love the PvE FPS aspect and environment but hate the forced social experiment aspect.
-
Number 3 is pretty simple. They only look at the end result with no thought of new players. Just like with all the material needed for this game. There is 0 thought put into this game. Darts being thrown at a board full of “ideas” is all it is. It’s a veritable mess of a game.
-
Those ideas are on point guardian. Will they implement any of them?I bloody well hope so,especially the point about class specific tasks!Well thought out man.

Solid list 👍 sounds suspiciously like the feedback they've been asking to get for the last few years but can't seem to find or act on 🤷

2 RespuestasBungie is too arrogant (as are most developers) to backpedal on decisions like elemental affinity completely. Instead, we have to wait for the team to decide that it needs to be changed on their own, come up with their own ideas on how it should change, discuss ideas, all agree on one idea, implement idea. And we know from experience that the solution chosen always keeps or adds another element of grind or expensive resource cost. Live service games are really the antithesis of fun anymore.

A set of weekly missions for each specific class and while we our on the subject, can we bring class specific exotic/legendary weapons?

I liked this post. I read the whole thing which is rare but I have to admit the valid points kept me reading and nodding my head. 👍🏾

All I can do is clap at this post. You are absolute right about everything here. Hopefully Bungie with save their baby before it's crushed under the weight of it's many failures.

1 RespuestaAccording to #3: What could help is if I could access my friend's quests list. New players have a long quest list and are often lost to what is interesting and even have no clue what to do or what a lot of steps mean. I can access my friend's loadout, triumphs and collection, but the quests list is protected. I see no reason why this is protected. So Bungie, please make it accessible. It could help so much guiding new players.

Nothing wrong with any of that. As far as Raids are concerned, you are correct. It is extremely difficult for "casual" players to raid. There is NO difficulty range with Raids. There is no way for a bunch of dills like myself, to have a go at the Raids, learn the mechanics, the enemies, the maps, without getting immediately killed, and perhaps spending the rest of the Raid dead. As far as the complicated part, jeez, has anyone experienced such mindless, unrewarding complication? For a start, how much currencies are there? Glimmer, planetary mats, all sorts of shards etc etc etc. FFS, even some currency is only used to buy other currency!

1 Respuesta
2. Armor elemental affinity has ruined an otherwise amazing armor update.
I actually think armor 2.0 is not that bad, i think this system is much more flexible than the old one.
3. Why are there no meaningful tutorials for new players!?!?!
I totally agree with this one, the game must be very boring for new players or for people who have not played since months.
4. The state of LFG is almost completely a symptom of your game design choices. I get it, Bungie. You want us to make friends for life in your game and you make raids and other endgame content around this concept.
I have made many good friends thank Destiny, but they all stoped playing and now i am too shy and lazy to join another clan. I think having a LFG system in the game would be really great.
7. WTF is the point of having 3 characters? Titans should have the occasional Titan thing to do. Like defend a wall or fight back a breach of the city walls. Dredgen Yor was a titan and is heavily associated with the Darkness, hunters can be mad scientists too, not just warlocks.

1 RespuestaBrother, I felt 3 and 4. You are a blessing to this game and community... and Bungie is too dumb to not appreciate players like you. They are killing their own community and game. Feels bad. Sad.

1 RespuestaEditado por Deadly Peanut: 2/15/2020 2:20:09 PMgood list OP some fun stuff and fun weapons, but many other WTF stupid game design moments.... I'd nominate: ANNOYING end game mechanics. Bosses and mini bosses that give massive damage but don't take damage until you complete some silly game mechanic involving glowy balls and jumping on one foot. Orbital bombardments you can't stop. annoying jumping puzzles. hiking 14 miles to kill a few adds and get to the boss fight. 27 step quests to get a pretty good weapon. tbh, D2 has the most purely annoying end game play i've ever experienced in an FPS. it's as if some sadistic 12 year old designed large parts of end game content in D2. conclusion? big parts of D2 i simply don't play because i don't play annoying games, even for a shiny new weapon. so i've DL a couple new games and i'm breaking them in. D2 is soon to be deleted, i'm sure.

That raid one is a good point just dont drop powerfull so i can grind for stats

1 RespuestaYou have many good points in this article. the only one that i c any problem with though is #2. as a Destiny vanilla player the Energy Affinity as I'm sure you remember goes back to the days of Destiny Taken King. The problem isn't so much the Affinities as they don't really do anything anymore. Back then if you ran an Arc class with Arc Affinity Armor it boosted your Arc class abilities and powers. Now i don't see any difference in my class powers no matter what Affinity armor I'm running.

Point 7 is a new one, I didn’t read all of it, just the first sentence of each. But weekly class bounties/activities would be awesome. Reminds me of the d1 weapon smith quest for x weapon for each class
