I’m getting burnt out

Bungie is not paying attention. They are nerfing stuff we don’t ask to be nerfed and they are buffing the wrong things. They are taking things away from us that we worked hard for. They are over nerfing stuff to where it makes them obsolete. They invite people to cheat in the game. They don’t fix what we’ve been asking to be fixed until they either break it or nerf it to the ground. They don’t know what balance means. They don’t test things before they launch them. They take money from us without letting us know it’s about to be payable with bright dust. They make content so absolutely difficult or so absolutely easy that it makes content less enjoyable. They allow us to grow in power but feel weaker as players and undermine the hard work we’ve been putting into the game all these years. They troll us with BS like Wish 15 and undiscovered and unresolved lore and secrets. They don’t answer our questions. They don’t give us servers to alleviate all of the really long hold times and the excessive error codes we keep getting. They allow stacks vs solos in the Crucible when we don’t want to play against stacks. They make a grindy game exponentially more grindy with armor 2.0, stat rolls, materials needed, elemental affinity, and mod grinds. Damn it I just want to play and enjoy the game. What the -blam!- is wrong with you and your -blam!-ing RNG? I’ve had enough. If we’ve already obtained Fallen, Hive, and Taken armaments.... then just -blam!-ing give us a 2.0 version. We’ve already obtained Transcendent Blessing mods, then just give us the damn thing so we can play the game. The fact that Transcendent mods for 2.0 armor are only consumables is BULLSHIT! You said we wouldn’t be forced to play old content anymore. You’ve lied! You said you would give us SKILL BASED MATCHMAKING! You LIED! These matches are just the same as before but just a laggier experience. You still have someone who got 2-3x more kills than anyone at the top and everyone else is average or below average. That is NOT skill based matchmaking. A reasonable person would expect the KDA and kills overall to be leveled out throughout the fireteams and the team scores to be almost even. But NO -blam!-ING WAY! Because you LIED to us. You’re burning me out. I’ve been playing this game pretty much daily since Destiny 1 and my triumph score is over 100,000. I have every exotic in the game. I have every catalyst in the game. I have every pinnacle weapon in the game. I put in the hours. I dedicated myself. And I’m feeling at incredible odds with where this game is going in the future. You’re losing me by the minute and it’s just getting more and more difficult to actually want to put in the work into this broken game anymore. There’s just so much wrong. You aren’t listening to us. And when you do, it takes forever to get something from you and it’s more than likely not what we’ve asked for. I’m done.

  • can i give you some advice? Destiny 1 i was the same way. i was so into it. had every exotic, gear or weapon, every legendary, i killed it every expansion. all triumphs. top 1% for crucible rating on xbox and ps4 combined. but ive been working alot more now that im older, diff job, ect. I dont get to play as much and i fell behind in exotics, ect. Destiny can either have alot of content, or just not enough, depending on how much you play. Maybe tone it down a bit. GIVE yourself something to do instead of flash lightning everything in 1 day. regards.

    • Nope... they are.. definitely paying attention. You just personally don't like what they are doing, but the game does not revolve around you. They dont lie.. they dont BS.. they dont put peanut butter in your sandwich when youre not looking. Just stop playing if you cant handle the game. Not that hard dude. Giving reasons to play old content is literally a god send, imagine putting great raids that spent many many hours to make to waste, those mods are the only thing keeping them alive. There really isnt "so much wrong" because you can barely even list any half coherent reasons... zzzzz

      • [I’m going to start by stating two things: 1)if you’re getting burnt out go play another game, I don’t care what it is; 2) I will try to respond in as calm and polite manner as I am capable.]
Bungie is not paying attention. They are nerfing stuff we don’t ask to be nerfed and they are buffing the wrong things. They are taking things away from us that we worked hard for. They are over nerfing stuff to where it makes them obsolete.
[while you may not ask for some of the stuff that’s been nerfed/buffed, others have. Also, paying attention/listening and acting on it are two different things, bungie has only lacked in doing the latter.]
They invite people to cheat in the game. They don’t fix what we’ve been asking to be fixed until they either break it or nerf it to the ground. They don’t know what balance means. They don’t test things before they launch them.
[the cheating was something they never intended to happen and punish with bans.]
They take money from us without letting us know it’s about to be payable with bright dust
[well, if you spent money on eververse that’s your issue, bungie putting what you you bought in the bright dust shop isn’t stealing (especially with how hard it is to get bright dust.)]
They make content so absolutely difficult or so absolutely easy that it makes content less enjoyable. They allow us to grow in power but feel weaker as players and undermine the hard work we’ve been putting into the game all these years.
[It’s been 6 years, and this goes back to the nerf/buff thing earlier that bungie is trying to listen we just send mixed signals.]
They troll us with BS like Wish 15 and undiscovered and unresolved lore and secrets. They don’t answer our questions.
[personally I love this, as it allows us lore junkies to speculate our asses off.]
They don’t give us servers to alleviate all of the really long hold times and the excessive error codes we keep getting.
[Well, D2 isn’t compatible to have dedicated servers, and I can only assume they’re planning on having them for D3 (hence why it’s likely not coming out next September)]
They allow stacks vs solos in the Crucible when we don’t want to play against stacks.
[I’ll get to this later, but it is a fair point.]
They make a grindy game exponentially more grindy with armor 2.0, stat rolls, materials needed, elemental affinity, and mod grinds. Damn it I just want to play and enjoy the game.
[and people said the stuff that was added with all you mentioned make the game more fun, I remain neutral on the matter.]
What the -blam!- is wrong with you and your -blam!-ing RNG? I’ve had enough. If we’ve already obtained Fallen, Hive, and Taken armaments.... then just -blam!-ing give us a 2.0 version.
[Uh, I actually don’t know how to respond to this, sorry.]
We’ve already obtained Transcendent Blessing mods, then just give us the damn thing so we can play the game. The fact that Transcendent mods for 2.0 armor are only consumables is BULLSHIT!
[again, I don’t exactly know how to respond to this, as you seem a bit pent up with rage on the matter.]
You said we wouldn’t be forced to play old content anymore. You’ve lied!
[They never said that, and playing old content is always part of the grind in these types of games.]
[That’s how SBMM works in destiny, it’s always been shitty and it always will be. Again, our best bet for a solution is D3.]
Because you LIED to us.
[Only about “no more nerfs” before forsaken launched.]
You’re burning me out. I’ve been playing this game pretty much daily since Destiny 1 and my triumph score is over 100,000. I have every exotic in the game. I have every catalyst in the game. Stop and play something else, I don’t even care if it’s fortnite.]
There’s just so much wrong. You aren’t listening to us. And when you do, it takes forever to get something from you and it’s more than likely not what we’ve asked for. I’m done.
[again, listening and acting are two different beasts. Also, they don’t have two extra studios providing manpower to get bigger patches and bug fixes out on schedule.]

        • But you have to consider that Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

When I enjoy doing the Collector job in Red Dead Online more than Destiny, something is wrong. I don't have the patience to grind for armor all over again. Destiny 1 was so much better than this boring, grindy, unrewarding, and nerfed dumpster fire. I'd like to do the new raid, and the dungeon, but I can't find an experienced clan that raids on a regular basis.

          • This game is not sustainable. I’m highly considering just leaving the game behind. For those of you who’ve left kind words of support, thank you. It’s not easy to leave a game I’ve dedicated so much of my time and life to. It’s not just a game to me, it’s a lifestyle. It’s a way for me to relax and enjoy myself. Considering I’m really not enjoying myself right now and I don’t foresee anything changing that any time soon, yes, I’m highly considering leaving the game for good. To those of you who have left sarcastic or hateful comments, you will know what I mean when the time comes. You will eventually agree with me and want to leave the game too.

              • The best way to handle live services games, because remember, they're not games in the same way other games are, is to play them (or not play them) based on how you feel. These games are typically played over years. If it's a good game, most of that time will be good, but there will be slow periods, and the company will try something new that won't work for you. Live services games will all eventually cause some kind of burn out in it's playerbase. I can't say that I'm not tired of all the strikes in D2, and I doubt I'll ever touch an Adventure or Heroic Campaign mission ever again. If Bungie doesn't do enough new content each season, I don't really see myself sticking around either, but that's not the first time I've said that, yet here I am. Still grinding away....

                • I was feeling like this too so I picked up a copy of modern warfare and after playing on that and coming back It makes the connection issues even more obvious. Almost every game there is someone lagging to the point they are teleporting or just dying with a delay. Then pve just seems pointless this season. The rewards are crap and there is just nothing new.

                  • That's fascinating. But did you know that A lemming is a small rodent, usually found in or near the Arctic in tundra biomes. Lemmings make up the subfamily Arvicolinae (also known as Microtinae) together with voles and muskrats, which form part of the superfamily Muroidea, which also includes rats, mice, hamsters, and gerbils. Lemmings measure around 13–18 cm (5–7 in) in length and weigh around 23–34 g (0.8–1.2 oz). Lemmings are quite rounded in shape, with brown and black, long, soft fur. They have a very short tail, a stubby, hairy snout, short legs, and small ears. They have a flattened claw on the first digit of their front feet, which helps them to dig in the snow. They are herbivorous, feeding mostly on mosses and grasses. They also forage through the snow surface to find berries, leaves, shoots, roots, bulbs, and lichens. Lemmings choose their preferred dietary vegetation disproportionately to its occurrence in their habitat. They digest grasses and sedges less effectively than related voles. Like other rodents, their incisors grow continuously, allowing them to feed on much tougher forage. Lemmings do not hibernate through the harsh northern winter. They remain active, finding food by burrowing through the snow. These rodents live in large tunnel systems beneath the snow in winter, which protect them from predators. Their burrows have rest areas, toilet areas, and nesting rooms. They make nests out of grasses, feathers, and muskox wool (qiviut). In the spring, they move to higher ground, where they live on mountain heaths or in forests, continuously breeding before returning in autumn to the tundra. Like many other rodents, lemmings have periodic population booms and then disperse in all directions, seeking the food and shelter their natural habitats cannot provide. The Norway lemming and brown lemming are two of the few vertebrates which reproduce so quickly that their population fluctuations are chaotic, rather than following linear growth to a carrying capacity or regular oscillations. Why lemming populations fluctuate with such great variance roughly every four years, before numbers drop to near extinction, is not known. Lemming behaviour and appearance are markedly different from those of other rodents, which are inconspicuously coloured and try to conceal themselves from their predators. Lemmings, by contrast, are conspicuously coloured and behave aggressively towards predators and even human observers. The lemming defence system is thought to be based on aposematism (warning display). Fluctuations in the lemming population affect the behaviour of predators, and may fuel irruptions of birds of prey such as snowy owls to areas further south. For many years, the population of lemmings was believed to change with the population cycle, but now some evidence suggests their predators' populations, particularly those of the stoat, may be more closely involved in changing the lemming population. Misconceptions about lemmings go back many centuries. In the 1530s, geographer Zeigler of Strasbourg proposed the theory that the creatures fell out of the sky during stormy weather and then died suddenly when the grass grew in spring. This description was contradicted by natural historian Ole Worm, who accepted that lemmings could fall out of the sky, but claimed that they had been brought over by the wind rather than created by spontaneous generation. Worm first published dissections of a lemming, which showed that they are anatomically similar to most other rodents such as voles and hamsters, and the work of Carl Linnaeus proved that they had a natural origin. Lemmings have become the subject of a widely popular misconception that they are driven to commit mass suicide when they migrate by jumping off cliffs. It is not a deliberate mass suicide where the animal voluntarily chooses to die, but rather a result of their migratory behavior. Driven by strong biological urges, some species of lemmings may migrate in large groups when population density becomes too great. They can swim and may choose to cross a body of water in search of a new habitat. In such cases, many drown if the chosen body of water happens to be an ocean, or is in any case so wide as to exceed their physical capabilities. Thus, the unexplained fluctuations in the population of Norwegian lemmings, and perhaps a small amount of semantic confusion (suicide not being limited to voluntary deliberation, but also the result of foolishness), helped give rise to the popular stereotype of the suicidal lemmings, particularly after this behavior was staged in the Walt Disney documentary White Wilderness in 1958. The misconception itself is much older, dating back to at least the late 19th century, where in the August 1877 issue of Popular Science Monthly, apparently suicidal lemmings are presumed to be swimming the Atlantic Ocean in search of the submerged continent of Lemuria. Another myth may have roots in the fiercely aggressive nature of lemmings during population booms, and the corresponding leftovers of predatory frenzies: lemmings do not explode.
