Howdy #Offtopic, Bop here!
During my time moving, I'm going to find myself without internet for a short time, so I was thinking about going back to speedrunning games. And that got me wondering if anyone else here was into speedrunning. And if so, what's your favorite speed game?
My speed game is *clears throat, looks at script* Rose-Rosenkr-Rosenkreu...
<"Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel">
That one!
I may not be able to pronounce the name of it, but according to Speedrun.com, I'm the 25th fastest recorded player of it!
<"There's only 25 records, you're the slowest of the fastest.">
That was only my first run...I'll get better...
If anyone's curious, it's Mega Man with anime girls, fairies, and magic.
But I want to know if anyone here has experience speedrunning, or is interested in it, and for what games?

6 RespuestasI could never get into the whole entire "Speedrun" thing, mainly because Speedrunning these days usually means glitching a game. I do however enjoy watching Speedrrunners who can speed run through games without skipping huge sections of the game. The only time I ever tried speedrunning a game myself was Metroid 2 on the Gameboy, and Super Metroid on the SNES. I actually used to be very good at Super Metroid, and I used to be able to be beat it somewhere around the 2 hour mark, without glitches, and collecting most of the collectables, but I haven't been able to replicate this feat since 1999/2000.

11 RespuestasHeck no. As a person who enjoys game soundtracks, visuals and story, I do not try to speedrun. I like to take it all in.

1 RespuestaI used to enjoy speed running destiny strikes, but I didn’t time myself or anything.
-
5 RespuestasWhy would there be any speed runners? The general consensus in the modern gaming community is to patch out anything allowing speed runs.

Editado por shell: 10/18/2019 10:56:32 PMI used to do a lot of IL runs of Sonic Mania. I should get back into it. By Sonic Mania, I mostly mean Chemical Plant zone. I tried other levels, but never got a time I was proud of. No other level had the same flow, anyway. My personal best is linked above, 34.69 seconds.

I decided to check, ‘cause why not, but if I posted my time on Speedrun.com for Hollow Knight I’d be 207th.

Next time I’m home I’m going to try to beat Outlast on Insane with no batteries again. It basically requires you to haul ass through the game.

Editado por Caggus: 10/17/2019 9:36:52 PMI completed Metroid Prime 2 in 3 hours once in the any% category, if my guess is right that places me in the top 200 for speed runners in that game with the WR being 54 mins. Glitches were heavily used along with me knowing the game like the back of my hand.
-
I completed super Metroid in 50 mins once.

3 RespuestasI dont stream anymore. But I did Portal 1 speed runs (PB of 14 mins). I've also done a speedrun of Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, and SOMA. Thought of doing one for Bloodborne

8 RespuestasI had to speed run Batman Arkham Knight because I screwed up in my last save. Only took me around 21 hours (over a span of 3 days). Classic games are a lot easier to speed run.
-
4 RespuestasI don't speed run myself, but I do enjoy watching Summoning Salt's videos.
-
I tend to casually speedrun Sonic games, I got a 2:15 on windmill act 1 in Sonic unleashed and I think 40 seconds on ice cap in Sonic adventure 1

12 RespuestasI love watching Kirby speedruns—preferably where Mix isn’t allowed. Seeing them plot out when & where to switch copy abilities is fun. Collectathon speedruns, like Mario or Banjo-Kazooie, are fun, too. The only game I’ve speedrun myself is Hollow Knight. It’s.. Not great, but I can confidently claim to be thr fastest Hollow Knight runner on this forum! The movement in that game is pretty great! I was thinking of speedrunning it myself, actually, but I don’t have any way to keep track of my time, since there’s no built in timer like Hollow Knight.

I like to speedrun resident evil 4 but I've never done good enough to post a time. But in the arcade game Quick and Crash I used to be in 54th place. But I am much much lower on the board now.

Editado por Sumpig-2: 10/17/2019 5:37:44 PMI play WARFRAME. I just need to get Gauss or Soni- uh Volt.

Only time i ever speedrun is to the toilet. When i do, i Rodie Run there a la GoW.
-
Currently trying to decide between learning Sonic Adventure or Pacman World 2

I speed ran through sekiro a couple of times, but I didn’t keep track of how fast because I was more focused with getting the platinum. I would assume I beat it in like 5-7 hours though. The only game I really got into it with was Furi (still a very underrated indie game). I think I beat it in 57 minutes at one point. It’s nowhere close to the record, but it’s pretty good.
-
I beat undertale in three hours so that's pretty cool
-
1 RespuestaI tried to speed run dark souls 3. My best time is 14 hours
-
I speed ran the main quest in Skyrim. Took me like 8 hours.

4 RespuestasSpeedrunner here I don't really like speedrunning slow paced games so im more into the x series than megaman classic But i honestly do it for the fun of it i see no value of comparing times with others, i used to but i grew out of it. If you're interested here's a list some of the games i like to run
-Sonic Unleashed - Colors - Generations -Megaman X4-X6 -Metroid Zero Mission -Super Mario World(nowadays i just stick with maker 2) -Mirror's edge And at one point of my life i did destiny 1 raid speedruns but i didn't do it enough to count it)
