This has absolutely nothing to do with warlocks or anything you think it is
It’s bungie being pure lazy
Instead of reworking boss mechanics or actually getting creative
It’s easier to nerf us instead of doing actual work
Now that we have established that
Change the click bait title immediately and think before you write in future

Editado por X EARTH W0LF X: 9/6/2019 4:31:39 PMWhat mechanic would you implement that makes the current meta not the best? Is there even one? Even IF they made it impossible to 1 Phase, the instant reload grenade launcher meta is still the obvious choice to go with. Even if you took it to the extreme and said “this is the maximum damage you can do per phase” like they did with Oryx, people will still equip whatever loadout puts out that damage fastest in order to complete the encounter faster. And let’s not forget that people hated Oryx specifically because it capped how much you could do each phase. People hate bosses that cap damage per phase (Fanatic Strike) so what else? Make you move during damage phase? Cool. Now LFG groups require 3 warlocks/titans minimum. You haven’t fixed the issue, you’ve just made it worse. What could you possibly do to change that without removing instant reload?

Make the players move. Can't use wells in calus because you switch plates every 10 seconds. Make Argos literally spin 90 degrees twice during damage phase. Gotta leave the well behind. Make riven close and open her mouth so you have to wait. Well runs out while you wait. Make SotP keep moving even during damage phase. It already moves. Make final boss in CoS switch between the 3 sides consistently. You could still stand in the well but now your smgs are worthless. Alternatively, make all of them do damage for once. Have them target the well like a 7th guardian since it can be destroyed. Shits not hard.

Editado por X EARTH W0LF X: 9/27/2019 3:28:19 PMWe still use Well because it lets us 1 plate Calus... We still use Well because it lets us kill Argos in 5 seconds... We still us Well because it lets us kill Riven in 5 seconds... We still use Well because it lets us kill Insurection Prime in a single radiance swap... We still use Well because it lets us kill Gahlran in only 1 hands phase... The only way to stop Well from breaking encounters without nerfing Well is to make bosses have more health or have health walls where you can't damage them anymore. People hated Health walls in Oryx and if they make bosses harder to accommodate for Well, then we get the raid equivalent to Reckoning Bridge where the raids are literally made harder just to be a challenge for Well, making it basically impossible to complete without one. Also please don't pretend like you don't know for a fact that teams would just require multiple Warlocks. I played during leviathan launch. I could go on about the number of teams I ran with who had a warlock for every plate... Seriously, just change your damn subclass...

There are so many mechanics that it literally is sky’s limit A rotation of Elemental barriers A specific weapon type that can only damage the boss or shield Etc etc Look you can’t say that bungie have tried everything They haven’t it’s just lazy programming The two I mentioned above alone would change everything and those were just off the top of my head It’s sad that a taken captain in gambit is more of a challenge than raid bosses

Editado por X EARTH W0LF X: 9/28/2019 9:15:22 PMNeither of your solutions stop auto-loading Well from breaking encounters... Need a specific element? Cool, everyone just spams different element grenade launchers with no reload time and +25% damage, and Bungie will either have to tune the damage needed to accommodate this (making it near impossible to do without this strategy) or it will make it so easy it breaks the mechanic, making it pointless. Need a specific weapon to damage the boss? Cool, everyone will just spam that weapon without reloads and +25% damage and Bungie will either have to tune the damage required to accommodate this (making it near impossible to do without this strategy) or it will make it so easy it breaks the mechanic, making it pointless. So.... What problem did you solve exactly...? The problem is that auto-reload bypasses a critical balance feature in the game. Extremely high damage weapons are supposed to have inconvenient reloads. Mountaintop is a perfect example; It literally deals the same (if not more) damage per grenade as a power slot grenade launcher. It's balanced when you have to reload every shot considering it only uses Special ammo. But without reloading, it's absolutely broken with its damage output and up-time. And if you dare suggest Bungie just adjust bosses to accommodate the MT, then you're just setting up a situation where players who don't have MT just can't do the raid because a group of people were too stubborn to have to change their subclass, so now half the raiding community can't play the raid... The game people generally compare Destiny to in terms of Raiding is World of Warcraft. Well in WoW, your damage comes from your abilities. Do you know what Blizzard doesn't do in WoW? They don't give instant free cooldowns on your best damaging abilities! Because they know full well that it would break the encounter to let players have such consistently high damage output. Tuning down play power is how we get away from the Raid formula we've been stuck with. The fact that we can melt a boss in 10 seconds is the reason we have the "Immunity phase; complete a mechanic to remove immunity; damage phase; repeat" formula. We can't be allowed to always be able to shoot the boss. As someone who has completed Crown of Sorrows more than once, I'm getting sick of the typical raid formula.

Yeah try balancing a rocket or grenade launcher knowing that raiders will just use instant reload to maximise it. Then everyone who doesn’t complains about damage being abysmal
