Destiny feels like it’s pushing me away
I’m not here to complain, Im just giving feedback. Now that, that’s out of the way...I’ve been pretty checked out of destiny since the start of season of Opulence, I did the raid enough times to get all the gear including what in my opinion is the worst raid exotic ever. And I did menagerie till the nerf cause it was the best version of EP to date. Even though that’s all it was. The latest iteration of a recycled concept. And pvp was such a disaster there was nothing left for me, And I haven’t touched destiny even momentarily for getting on 2 months now. I was excited for Shadowkeep as I always am for a destiny expansion but the more I hear of bungies new design philosophies and this battle pass business, I feel less and less incentivized to pick it back up again. It’s not a reluctance or a boycott it’s just pure apathy which is a new feeling for me to have about destiny. I either loved destiny or hated it depending on what was going on at the time but now it’s nothing. I don’t like that they’re treating a full price AAA title with paid dlc like it’s a free to play game. Apex for example is a F2P so I can look past the grubby price points but with destiny there doesn’t seem to be any excuse other than they need more money..it feels like the gap is growing for me. The jump back into destiny was always a leap of faith in previous dlc releases but now it seems like it’s a Chasm. Idk maybe I’ve just moved past destiny and the things that are pushing me away are unique to me. I’d really like to know if this is just me or this is a community issue

50 RespuestasBungie is a company with nearly a thousand employees. All of whom have to earn a living. What we pay for this game pays their salaries.... and allows us to get [i]professional[/i]-quality games. There are no free-to-play games. Those games just spread the cost over the entire community rather than demanding everyone pay an individual share. A point that one of the Apex devs got dinged for pointing out to people pissing and moaning about lootboxes. (Most of the people complaining weren’t the ones paying the cost of the game). When you complain about how these games are monetized you are basically saying you don’t believe the people who made the game should get paid for their work. And that those who risked losing their money to allow the game to be made, should be rewarded for taking that risk.

I think they’re aiming for more of a fly-by-night player who will dump money in the game and leave and the type Bungie’s behavioral studies say they can squeeze and keep on the hook. The gameplay will draw fly-by-nighters and the battle pass system will keep the others on the hook. Such a shame. Destiny’s gameplay is superb if only Bungie had faith in themselves to deliver the rest without feeling the need to exploit their consumer.

2 RespuestasIt’s ok to love the game, I loved D1 even with all its obvious flaws and content droughts. I miss the good times and friendships I had playing D1... they just aren’t there in D2. As for D2, sometimes I truly hate it and can’t find a single thing I want to do in the game. I enjoy trying to help Sherpa guys through raids but most of the time now just end up farming clears, which is sad. I play other games. I am swiftly approaching apathy myself as I see nothing but a bungie cash grab in the future.

3 RespuestasD2 has run its course. I was shocked at how many players I used to roll with have quit for good and will not be getting Shadowkeep. I put the game down for good. These Forums and the community here are way more fun than the game itself.

They are not going to stop forking this game up. so as much as it sucks because I loved d1 it's never going to be as good and iam done with lagging I dont pay alot of money for internet to have a shot time. so I will be moving on as soon as cod comes out or the new season cause iam not buying it till there is a decent amount of change not bull shot armor changes it's going to make the game worse just watch and see

For me it's just content droughts. These past 3 seasons had given me almost nothing to do after the first week of release. (Except for Opulance, which gave me quite a bit to do.) I haven't played destiny in a few weeks and Everytime I try, I ask myself, "what do I even have left to do?" And I'm scared about these next seasons cause I feel like they won't have anything in them.

I don't have a problem with them making money. That's ok. But give me the chance to get my money back if I don't like the product. Then they can produce as much trash content as they want and I can get my money back if I don't like it.

I haven't played for seven months now, came back here to check on shadow keep previews but am just reminded again on why I stopped playing. I've always loved this game's shooting mechanics but there are so many other things that I just hate. And this new free to play structure sounds even worse. I won't be coming back myself.

They really have nothing to lose here with d2, they will get more aggressive with micro transactions as the game comes to its natural end. If worst comes to worst shareholders and owners will just sell and then reopen under different brand and use the experience to scam you even harder next time around. Fool proof. “They have to feed their family” stuff is bs. Plenty of money to be made without scummy tactics. They aren’t there yet but I think they’ve made it pretty clear where they are headed.

2 RespuestasI piss & moan & complain about all the dumb design decisions made by Bungie but every September I pre-order at the last minute and take time off from work to play more Destiny. This year when Bungie moved the release date to Oct 1 instead of taking vacation time for that date, I cancelled my pre-order. Taking vacation from 9/13 - 9/24. I'm going to try F2P Destiny before I spend more money on Bungie products. Maybe I'll get Shadowkeep next year or November if 1/2 price. The whole Season Pass thing is screwy. The initial season is only 10 weeks and there are 4 seasons. Seasons should be 13 weeks long each if all the same length and last a full year. Where are the missing 3 weeks going? The DLC comes with one season, so the further into the season you buy the DLC, the less value you get for your money. Need to buy the DLC on the first day of a full season to get the most bang for the buck. We should already know the start and end dates of each of the next 4 seasons if they're going to sell them to us now. I normally wouldn't worry about deciphering all this confusing crap but Bungie has proven to me that they can't be trusted. They're flat out shady and even when not being intentionally deceitful or deceptive, they're not very good at speaking the truth.
