Literally makes no sense if you ask me... Pretty sure a knife is sharper and deadlier than a shoulder. Especially if the knife is either on fire or an explosive...
Edit: To those of you who say that shoulder charge is a high risk, high reward ability... it’s really not.

Well if hunters can go invisible, than titans should be able to also.
-
As much as I want that, throwing knives would be incredibly broken as a ohk ability and would end up being a huge problem. I personally think it should just do 157 to the head like they did in D1.

4 RespuestasAt least hunters and titans dont have to waste their greneade to OHK melee

2 RespuestasYour flaming throwing knife is bouncing off my full face helm mate. Whilst I body slam your skinny cloak wearing ass in my full plate armour at 100 miles an hour.

Editado por MC 077 Lasombra: 8/20/2019 10:15:45 PMIt’s not high risk going into shotgun range in pvp? It’s not high risk to have a long animation that leaves you vulnerable? Um yeah, shoulder charge it ohk because it is very high risk. Unless it’s around a corner, then sure, it’s kinda a sure thing unless the target has a shotgun. That’s no different then shotgun dueling. I’ve been killed around corners, sometimes when you have to start it before they come around they hear it and pop you when they come around. Meanwhile you toss your knife from a distance. Much safer. Less risk, less reward. Seems right to me. The problem is Skullfort, I know. Skullfort can’t be nerfed. You use it to chain multiple melees in pve, period. Anything short of an instant cool down makes it worthless. Equally with the health regen, you need it to recover damage taken from coming in or you’ll be dead before you can get a second melee in. They can’t take it out, it’s the only good one for pve. Oem seems to be the pvp exotic. I main it because it synergies with Earthshaker. Lots of fun in pve, not so much in pvp.

3 RespuestasEditado por DuBChiri2: 8/19/2019 5:35:15 PMIt can be buffed to do more damage, but no melee should one shot if there's not a charge time to it. Shoulder charge doesn't take very long to activate, but the important part is the condition required to activate it. The requirement of running for a short time means you can't be in the middle of a gun fight and just tap the melee button to one shot them. Even in higher competitive play, shoulder charges one shot nature becomes less valuable because of how much more alert your enemies are. In something like quickplay where there's a lot of chaos, shoulder charge can be a nuisance, but in comp...you are likely going to die before you even had the chance to use it. This makes it more of a surprise attack and with a game where radar is so unbelievably strong, it becomes more of a hindrance to have. Useful as a movement ability, but the shotguns put you down so fast. Vs a throwing knife which can be done instantaneously. I think it's harder to hit a headshot than simply running at your target and pushing the melee button, but it's the condition that matters. Hitting a headshot could be something easier done with enough practice because travel time and the arc are something you can easily calculate especially at closer ranges. A target is running straight at you and you didn't know, so long as you are aiming at their head, just quick turn, melee, and they are dead. The ability for throwing knife to one shot was something that actually made gunslinger meta in d1. I don't know why, but the burning throwing knife could kill you with the burn after doing incredibly high damage and bungie actually patched this fairly quickly...for bungie anyway, because they knew of the problems it created. Shoulder charge is anannoyance and getting one shot doesnt sit well with anybody, but throwing knives were just...something you couldn't counter. Something that was considered "hard" was being trivialized and abused by the players who were good at the game. Shoulder charge isn't something that being good would make it better, at least not by much. It's one of those things where the skill ceiling and the power at that level shouldn't match which for whatever reason people seem to think that something harder to use should always be stronger, but the issue of making something hard stronger than something easier, is that once you close that skill gap, you can actually abuse it. Much like after they buffed golden gun to one shot every super in the game in d1 no matter what...the deficits of that super were heavily eclipsed by just how strong it was, making the skill ceiling artificial and what used to be a super used more as a counter super, turned into a literal unstoppable death machine. You hide or you die, that's all there was to it.

Editado por ReGoober: 8/20/2019 5:04:38 PMTechnically titans weigh a ton and have more force than a car so it kinda does make sense that it does more damage than a rinky dinky knife. I don’t care if they do buff throwing knives to OHKO I just wanted to add that I have no opinion on this issue

61 RespuestasNo No No. It’s incredibly easy to land headshots with throwing knife. It will make hunters even more viable in crucible then they already are.

Editado por Vegalink: 8/20/2019 3:37:22 PMFull disclosure I am a titan main. Using shoulder charge usually ends up with me dead. Not always, but usually. There is rarely a situation when I used shoulder charge that it wouldn't have been smarter to just use a shotgun or fusion rifle. Shotguns are soooo much easier to get kills with than shoulder charge, and are often what shuts down a shoulder charge. When I shoulder charge I have to be prepared to die, because often I do lol. You sprint and can't use your gun. You can't slide. Titans do have OHK abilities but it is much more difficult to use than most secondary weapons are. Most of the time if I got a kill with shoulder charge the person wasn't paying attention or would have died to a shotgun blast even more easily. Peregrine greaves is the only thing I can think of that give shoulder charge more power than a secondary weapon.

If you think getting killed by shoulder charge is annoying, just wait until your getting stuck in the face every 2 seconds without being able to counter it.

Editado por warlordzsinj: 8/20/2019 12:07:02 PMUnless all you ever play is rumble, then of course shoulder charge is high risk. I'm not saying it's any more high risk than a shotgun rush, but there are usually other players ready to finish you off once exposed, and remember Titans can't dodge or dance around in the air or go invisible or run away as fast as Hunters, we have a predictable glide which is easily followed by most weapons. So shoulder charge *really is* a high risk manoeuvre.

2 RespuestasShoulder charge is super buggy and is countered by shotguns. It's extremely overrated

11 RespuestasEditado por Asylum: 8/20/2019 4:27:42 AMI believe that every class should have a OHK melee/ability. Titans have shoulder charge. Warlocks have handheld supernova. Hunters have................ Either every class has one or none of them have one. I thinks that a fair statement.

3 RespuestasShoulder charge is to hunt the cowardly shade step Hunter.

Blunt force tends to do better than blades with the armor that Destiny features.

You know that sound that follows shoulder charge. That's the sound barrier breaking basically. You get shoulder slammed by a guy going at high speed wearing like 120lbs of armor.

1 RespuestaEditado por Dreams_Adrift: 8/19/2019 4:08:43 AMGet a knife throw headshot kill Get the knife back with 50% buff for 5 seconds. Allowing for ohk headshot. After the 3 seconds the knife will go away. Drawback: Die if you don't land your knife Reward: Ohk knife for 3 seconds Both titans and warlocks have draw backs such as needing to be close and having the charge up melee/grenade while being open to shots. This is my suggestion for Bungie.

Editado por A78Chec: 8/19/2019 9:07:33 PMI have heard Hunters, Titans and Warlocks complain about how the other subclass has OP abilities but when it comes to their own....absolute silence...when Gwisin Vest was broken I barely heard hunters complain, Titans and Warlocks hated it. The same goes for wormhusk in a primary meta. The valid argument that Dawn Blade is the most aggressive super in the game? you won't hear Warlocks talk about balancing it because it benefits them, contraverse hold with handheld supernova? Thats a Titan and Hunter problem. We can sit here and go over how some exotics and abilities are OP and how it makes a subclass overpowered....but in the end if its really that good......just play it yourself....sometimes in order to fight the cancer you must become it...
-
The reason is because your hunter class ability can give you free melee charges and the throw is instant while shoulder charge needs time to activate.

1 RespuestaEditado por Billahzz: 8/20/2019 4:13:52 AMThe dnd nerd in me immediately thinks of bludgeoning damage vs piercing damage against armour and sorry man but the space magic fueled shoulder check makes a lot more sense rattling you than a tiny knife piercing some space age armour. Although i then remember a rogues sneak attack and im back to square 1 lol.
