Ace of Spades Gambit kills
Still see some people upset about this. Just hang in there, you will get the kills eventually.
YES you are going to get robbed of a few kills here and there.
YES you’re going to get frustrated.
NO they shouldn’t get rid of the crucible aspect of getting the exotic.
The Ace of Spades is definitely worth the grind and frustration. Even if you’re not a hand cannon user...it’s Cayde’s damn gun. If they doesn’t make you want it enough, then don’t grind for it.
Gambit is a really fun game mode. Just enjoy it, don’t go crazy out of your way looking for the kills to complete it. Enjoy the game, play the objectives and get the kills as they come. It will be over before you know it .
Bungie don’t change anything. Hope they bring back more exotic weapon quests for the raid too. Something more like touch of malice and outbreak prime.

6 RespuestasThe only issue I have with what you're saying is that it's really hard to enjoy any PvP game type while you're forced to use guns you aren't comfortable with. I'm a hand cannon guy, so the kills came naturally for me, like you said - but if the quest required a sidearm or a sniper, there would be nothing organic about it... I'm just saying, at a minimum, you'd have to be carrying a cannon in one of your slots the entire time (because it would be a pain to have to switch to it every time an invader came over), meaning you're limiting your options until you 'organically' complete the quest step. That still impacts one's enjoyment of the game mode (which I love by the way)... Anyway, I think those are the biggest reasons why this quest step was poorly designed...

I get that they want to make me try their new mode. But getting hand cannon kills on invaders was such a stupid ass idea. I thought it wouldn't be bad because "I'm good at PvP whatever" but that's not how gambit works. Invaders use heavy and supers 90% of the time. My ten paces isn't going to do well against a sleeper simulant. And because I can't get the quest done on my own invasions I have to try and camp out the invader. It encourages me to not play the objective and paints the whole mode with a bad flavor. I will get it done of course yeah. But I won't be touching gambit again for a long ass time afterwards.

I have my ace of spades now and I don’t plan on playing it again unless it’s for another weapon and it’s all because of that stupid bounty. Whatever they thought they were doing to get players to try Gambit out, it worked the opposite for me because now I don’t wanna play the shit ever again.

1 RespuestaThere should be options - no one should have to play crucible or Gambit if they don't want to - Gambit isn't that great, either - certainly not worth the hype it's been getting... If you want to slap a story/quest to an exotic, no problem - make it hard if you want, I don't care - but don't force me to play game modes that I have no interest in playing just for the sake of getting a weapon to use in PVE...

Are you crazy I've played 50 or more fckng Gambit match's I haven't got 1 -blam!-ing hand cannon kill how do I kill some prick with a hand cannon before they sleeper shot me or super me or wycliff coil me or snipe me no dude this mode is garbage for pve players I've already got the weapons the armour so to go back over and over to play this trash is only going to infuriating -blam!- the ace of spades

The problem for me is that, as you said, it's a fun game mode. But for the last 9 days every time I play I feel obligated to rock a HC. When, after 9 days of a playstyle that I'm not comfortable with, I'm still at 3/5 it makes me not want to play it all. Oh, I got you down to 10% health and you shot me once with your shotty or my teammate stole the kill? Awesome. Oh, you spawned across the map and got me with sleeper/whisper before I even saw you? Sweet. It's not fun to me anymore and now I'll put off gambit altogether.

2 RespuestasIn with you on this, I happen to be one of those pvp potatoes and when I attempted a few matches the other day my HC barely tickled their over shield. Kills as an invader would have been much better

14 RespuestasYou're wrong. This step is unnecessarily frustrating and due to the nature of Gambit, very difficult. Everything is stacked against you. The invader has more health, can see you through walls, oftentimes will have super of heavy. Teammates kill the invader. This step is tedious and will put people off of getting ace of spades

Yeah, I'm fine with it now. I figured out the procedure and got a good hand cannon(Trust with outlaw and rampage and a target acquisition mod). I've only had one kill register, but I'll get it. I'm kind of just playing regular and when an invader comes in I head to spawn and try to get behind him. Only thing I don't like is the fact that it has to be the final blow to count. My first kill I took him to nothing and then got scooped from across the map by a scout.

I don't like gambit, pvp is ok. Pve for me but I got ace no complaints from me

Totally agree, my dude. I got the quest done just by playing Gambit normally in just three matches. In fact, I kinda had fun playing Gambit. And that's how it should be. My advice to those having a hard time with it: just enjoy the game. If you'd rather be doing public events or dreaming city bounties than the AOS quest, then go do those. Nothing should feel like you're laboring to get something done. This. Is. A. Video. Game.

The only annoying part is assuming i got the kill but apparently desync says my teammates bullet hit first.

1 RespuestaI wasted 2 hours doing what the quest line SAID to do...only to find out it was the opposite. "Get 5 Invasion kills" (which sounds like invade and kill...) Should definitely say "Kill 5 Invaders" Oh well...
