I don’t think you can obtain materials for the Lost Prophecy quests unless you have one active. Probably to prevent us from farming ahead of time.

I have it still going on titan, but warlock and hunter receive nothing from activities as if you can only get materials on the character you selected the verse with.

You share an inventory between all your characters. As long as you have a lost prophecy in your inventory, you'll collect materials. My warlock has been grinding materials all day, and she doesn't even have access to mercury.
