I used to log on every. Single. Day to play d1 whether it was heroic strikes to kill some time or sinking an evening into the raid. Destiny 2 is the opposite i log on stare at the map and log off. I signed in today speedran the NF and felt literally no incentive to play any further.
I think the issue for me is multifaceted:
The weapons system change. Why though? The only reason i can see was to extend playtime buy stopping people burn bosses with snipers and rockets together. Pvp should not have been a factor in this change, however i fear it was the sole contributor
Token system... its -blam!-ing stupid if i run the raid i would like to rewarded in the raid not be given tokens to then pass on to some one else for a chance at a reward... wtf bungo.
Fixed rolls should have meant more weapons in general... nope same as d1 but no perk rolling allowed so no need to chase anything.
Pvp, i never did trials because it wasnt a mode i enjoyed, iron banner however was and the added level advantage (miniscule or not) felt worth it. Neither of d2's end game pvp modes have level advantage so whats special about them now? In b4 reskinned weapons and armour.
Level cap. Either ive played this game far too much or it is way to easy to hit level cap. Also level cap doesn't seem like it is anything more than an arbitrary number now. By level cap i mean 300 not 305 as there is no need to be 305 other than to say you are 305.
Raids. For this im only comparing VOG and levi because they are both the first raid releases for each title. Theres absolutely no comparison tbh VOG is a masterpiece in design and playability. It has multiple boss encounters and a sense of progression as you move through. Levi has one boss... one boss. We levelled up to 300 to face... one boss. Not only that the way that the (lets call them) trials set by calus switch each week which for me is a cop out. You can introduce variety without just changing the orders of tasks. Also having to redo each door is just tedious and repetitive and feels like bad design as it disrupts the flow of the game.
Story... why the -blam!- was ghaul even a thing. A waste of time if you ask me. We fought GODS in d1 literal GODS... who is ghaul except an albino Bane cosplayer that ate one too many subways. At no time was he a threat. Remember first seeing the oryx projection in taken king? So much better than this.
There are other more minor issues that i simply cba to type out
In conclusion im upset and spitting my dummy out because my favourite game seems to have been watered down into nothing and its showing no signs of life
Sad face and rant over

3 RespuestasI’m so happy Destiny 2 is not addictive as Destiny 1. Now, I’m exercising almost every day now. I’m also playing more with my 3 year son. Thanks Bungie.
-
81 Respuestas“Logged in and stared at the map.” I cannot tell you how many times I have just found myself staring at the map... Then just shut it off half the time because there is nothing to do. That practically never happened to me in all of my time playing D1!
-
Lmao. Great title man. I'm actually grateful that I have more of a life since D2 is not as addictive.
-
Editado por BaconRiot: 10/17/2017 11:28:39 PMI mean, I thought D1 was rubbish. I can stomach a sitting of D2 at least. I"m actually glad it's getting more of this forum community to "quit." I've been here about a decade and the Destiny cluster, while equally as toxic, are just more annoying to me than the halo players used to be.

Let me start by saying i love Destiny. i love the community. i love the lore and the universe but theres things that need to be addressed. I've played this series since the first beta for Destiny1. i have made life long friendships with people in the game. something I've very rarely found in other games. I want this to be the world i know it can be and its because of this love for the game that we as a community need to address the problems and give feedback. so I've put a few bullets together that i think would breathe life back into this player base. If your reading this saying, Destiny 2 isn't dying, Destiny 2 is fine the way it is, well I'm sorry. numbers don't lie, and the numbers are saying the player base is dropping substantially. this happens with all games but you need to remember this is only a month old. here's how i suggest u fix it, just my opinion 1. Give us back Custom pvp........simple......no seriously why was this even removed? it took us 3 years to get it and its just poof, gone. 2. Return strike, Raid, Trials and Iron Banner specific items and perks. right now, there's absolutely no reason to do these events because they are all re-skinned slightly altered versions of weapons in the standard legendary loot tables. albeit there are a couple exceptions but very few, which leads to next 3. Return weapon and armor unique rolls/perks. the grind in D2 is non existent because there's no reason to try to get weapons if they're all the same within their fire rate/impact brackets. again some exceptions but no where near the kinds of rolls u could go for in destiny 1. 4. More/ new exotics and better perks on them. there should be like 4 that are good for endgame stuff (exaggeration but really not that many really stand out above the rest) 5.legendary shard rework/fix. I'm sitting on 800+. this should not be a thing and only strengthens the fact that gear means absolutely nothing compared to the few "META" items. I've talked to many players and the consensus is typically that D2 right now feels like the end of Destiny 1 year 3, when people had nothing left to go for, most people have things they want, gear and exotics they were trying to get and honestly there's no incentive for Sherpa's or guides to help people who haven't got items through activities. at the end of the day all these things above cry out one thing....... GIVE US BACK THE INCENTIVE TO PLAY THE GAME. as one of my best friends puts it. any who remember the days of forever 29 in destiny one know it sucked but the incentive to do raids and trials and everything else never went away. we Ground Destiny 1 into the earth, but it was fun to do it with our friends to see who could hit the top first, who could get the item they've been longing for. That experience has been ripped away. I HOPE they revive this game. I HOPE they recognize the problems and breathe life back into a game universe i love, a game universe that made real world impacts on friends and lives. as it stands right now, I'm really glad i only bought the base game. love me or hate me, i hope the best for this community and this games future.

Good read. Yeah, it just seems Bungie released this game just to troll us. Sure seems that way. It's like, thanks for playing the Destiny 1 beta the last 3yrs. Now what we're going to do is throw all your hard work and your hours collecting, flush them down the drain, AND release ANOTHER beta for the next 3yrs and recycle, repeat. And for the people who keep defending this shit with "Give it time". We've given it 3yrs already. How much time does a game need to actually be good? How long will people keep defending the incompetence? If the shooting mechanics weren't as good as they are, would people still defend this lackluster excuse of a game? Remember when Bungie used to release AAA games? Now it's just empty 3yr betas.

1 Respuesta"Stare at the map and log off" I literally work in the morning and when I come home I shower eat dinner and hop on Destiny 2 and just stare at the map like "Uhhhhh..." *Close Application* *Opens Netflix*

1 RespuestaSometimes I don't even make it to the map. I'll stare at the character select screen for a few moments, then just close the game.

6 RespuestasAgreed i am quiting of the game this week, the Iron Banner was awful broken and boring as hell. Regreatfully i bought edition with the season pass so i will come back in december in order to see if the first DLC fix this broken, boring, tedious game.
-
Who would of ever thought that it was Destiny that killed Destiny!
-
Same here, D2 feels like a shadow compared to D1 for me.
-
The most laughable part is they had 3 years to learn from before delivering this mess
-
Yea I just uninstalled D2, ran ikoras meditations again bright and early this morning, but I still haven’t gotten the arms to drop. That makes about 20 total packages without them, I’m not going to play a game where every week there is a “chance” you’ll get something you want or and even better chance to get something you already have. There are such better games out right now I have no idea how this game still had a fan base, myself included

1 RespuestaEditado por Fennimoe: 10/17/2017 12:06:03 PMFor the past few weeks or so, I use the app to see if my clan has completed any tasks... As soon as one is completed, I log on, grab my reward, then log off. Got me up to 301 from that. Possibly 302+ today without even doing any work. Lmao

1 RespuestaModern game market is ran by loot crates and chance... Sad, but true.

1 RespuestaRest in peace destiny 2 gaming addiction Now back to dat Warframe bootie

3 RespuestasI think people forget that the token system allows you to spread loot across all three characters. Lets say you do the raid and already have all the raid gear for your hunter but you want to get your warlock a set of raid gear. Then all you do is save the tokens you get from doing the raid with your hunter and titan and cash them in on your warlock. This goes with any event and activity. Iron banner, trials, strikes, crucible, etc.
-
Ya too many call outs, vog u can just chat it up with buddies for the most part and have a great time, don’t get me wrong leviathan is cool but no where near the same level as VOG or TTK
-
Saturday I was on as a raid backup...I tried to play the game while waiting if my clanteam needs one. I couldn‘t play anything with the slightest bit of fun. Then I turned it off and watched tv. As my team called for backup, I only responded „sry, no time and no incentive to come back online“. This game really tries to kill any addiciton.

2 RespuestasMy destiny addiction has been cured too. I had over 2000 hours on my hunter in D1, was i bored in D1? I was so bored it wasn’t funny. Crucible was fun, you could wipe a team on your own if you were good enough. There was incentive to do activities, which sadly died off in the taken king, weapon perks were amazing if you went flawless or completed a raid, as were the armour perks. In D1 i used to see the kinderguardians in the cosmodrome and lead them down to get destroyed by the 3 yellow bar hive then show them how you can easily beat them with some power. Lets talk about D2, but first let me swallow the little bit of vomit that just came up into my mouth. There is literally no reason to grind max power for crucible players, and the strikes, why were they not tied to the story? Bust your gut in a nightfall for the same rewards you get in a public event you can complete in 10% of the time? No thanks. Bust your gut harder for a glowy head? Piss off bungie, give me something meaningful. Same goes for the prestige raid? I don’t care about cosmetic rubbish, well i do a little bit, but great guns and great armour perks are what kept me playing D1. D2 is a good game that doesn’t have any reason to come back. Its boring, meaningless, and aimed too much at casuals. Year 1 in D1 you would go into the crucible and get smashed by a mythoclast, and strongly covet that gun, grind your ass off in the vault of glass hoping it would drop, it was meaningful, D2 has none of that. Anyway, i’m off to have some actual fun in another looter shooter called fortnite. This game sucks. It’s hard for me to say that, i love destiny, but this sequel is utter crap.

NOTHING TO DO

I honestly don't think they care. They got our money and the love of all the pvp scrubs along with the 12 year olds. They literally need to just release all the content now.

2 RespuestasI dont even log in to stare at the map at this point.
