They posted last week, no 3 of coins till after SRL ends. If you want them now and do not have them then you have to do the nightfall, I got 57 total this week from nightfall so far and even took yesterday off from the game.

Bungie will lie and tell you it's a glitch. However we all know it's manipulated by bungie. Bungie doesn't want kinderguardians getting all the exotic drops too fast. Same crap we went through during crota days. They made us go without heavy ammo for months. If gather all the rewards weapons and armor, you have nothing to play for. You get bored and move on to other games.

What I dont understand is, if you don't need 3oc or you don't want too use them then why does it effect that other people do want too use them, either just continue with your game or do activities that drop exotics without 3oc. At the end of the day it doesn't matter who you are a year one player or a new player, we all paid for the game and its our own experience to make with what we want. I cannot fathom how me wanting to use three of coins to enjoy myself affects anybody else in anyway shape or form. Also to say people are whiney, well for starters you dont have to read the is post and also why shouldnt someone who has bought the game and enjoys using 3oc's not raise an issue that clearly affects them. The fact is not everyone has the time or is good enough to do things that drop exotics without 3oc's, I admit I am not and I am not ashamed of it. Destiny is a game where I go to relax and forget about the shit in my life, I am not going to be made too feel shame just because I am not as good as someone else thinks we should alll be.

There were a lot of people saying that 3oC made exotics too abundant. There have also been statements that I can't directly cite or quote because I don't have the time, but to paraphrase, people at Bungie have said that people are still not using 3oC the way they were intended. Of course that was a long time ago, and nothing I saw clarified that statement or resulted on something plausible to say "this is how they should be used." So I think its a combination of players not getting the experience they expected, and Bungie putting out a system of exotic acquisition that did not go as intended. I think that the numerous posts with titles like "3 of coins not working?" "3 of Coins broken?" Etc. Have caused a reaction, due to players using them and feeling like its kind of a waste or being frustrated at the low drop rates. In addition to that feedback, there are posts describing the most effective ways to farm exotics, which result in playstyles which focus on merely acquiring exotics as quickly as possible, which is not something that Bungie wants. RNG is intended to be set up so that players put as much time into the game as possible, since some measurements of success are the number of people playing, and overall hours played. That RNG has to be balanced with what the average player will feel is acceptable, with rewards being given out at a rate that keeps people coming back. From Bungie's perspective, the ideal drop rate is a rate at which a player achieves a point in the game where they feel that they could stop playing because the game is a bit stagnant and there is nothing new. Right before that point in the players mind, something new needs to happen to postpone that feeling so the player will continue to engage in the game. A random drop of a new item is an RNG event that helps that process. If 3oC is interfering with that process, it is going to get reevaluated and possibly removed. There is even a study on the neuroscience of RNG, new content, and how to keep players engaged in the game. I can't get into that too deeply, but if you're interested, look up the neuroscience of destiny, or similar searches, and you should cone across some interesting articles where Bingie talks about how they developed their RNG. In short, the brain releases certain chemicals when it is surprised by new stimuli. If done correctly, these chemicals will trigger a positive response in the brain, causing endorphins to be released which create a sense of reward. Its a ratio of how much time and work it took to earn the reward versus what the reward is. So there is a scale that they try to apply, in which the reward of endorphins is triggered at the best possible moment. If everything in the game were given too easily, the reward response would be minimized. To be effective, the endorphins need to "spike." A decent example would be to imagine sitting in a cafeteria where everyone is talking loudly. Your friend sits down and says hi. Your friends voice doesn't do anything to disrupt your experience because his voice, though distinct and familiar, is one of many in the room. An effective endorphin spike is like sitting in a quiet library, where it is almost silent, and then someone lighting off a firework. It would be quite shocking, a huge surprise and would get your attention. After the firework goes off, a ton of your friends come out from behind bookshelves and yell surprise and give you a gift. The second example is Mich more impactful and memorable. You might remember it for a long time, telling the story of the crazy surprise party your friends threw you right before getting kicked out of the library. You might even think that the friends who did that for you were really amazing friends and like them a bit more for it because they made you feel special. Compared to a friend who sits down with you on a noisy cafeteria, and talks with you over a meal, which is something that commonly happens and does not disrupt the normality of your routine. So with 3oC, and RNG in general, Bungie is trying to be that group of friends who interrupts your routine by throwing you a surprise party at just the right time for maximum surprise, maximum effect, and emphasizing endorphin reward.

I only want exotic engrams so I can break them down for exotic shards. Oh well, I guess I'll just buy 5 helmets and another 100 heavy ammo synthesis. Thanks for nothing again Xur.

It's funny, when 3 of coins started everyone loved them. Now it's the cool thing to not like them and act like we need to work for the exotics. It's not work, it's a video game that I actually did work to get money to buy this game. So really when I bought this game, I should have a more then once a week shot at getting an exotic.

Back in my day we had to work for exotics.
