Things year 2/3 players will never understand
1. How important Etheric Lights were at one point and the grind to get them
2. How much farming of Crota people did to never...ever...get the crux only to find out you had wasted more time than a spinmetal farmer on Mars
3. The Fatebringer and Black Hammer phases
4. Not being aloud to raid because you didn't have Gjallarhorn
5. Having to grind bounties to get the Invective, Bad Juju or Thorn bounty to drop
6. Seeing Eris with her ship tied to the railing like it was going to float off or something
7. Having to wear a faction class item to rank them up
8. The madness people were driven to attempting to get Revenant shader
9. Getting a well done cloud from doing the Nightfall
10. The excitement and hype of DLC releases!

Or farming the loot cave for an hour just to get one single purple legendary engram to drop Or getting kicked to orbit when you wipe in Nightfall and you were the shit if you can solo a Nightfall Or during vanilla year there was a small percentage RNG that your purple legendary engram will decrypt into a blue rare armor or weapon Black Hammer's white nail perk gave you infinite ammo before they nerfed it to hell And there was only 20 slots each for vault space in vanilla year And we can go on and on, current RoI babies have no idea how easy they have it but Alpha Beta and Vanilla players all know of the struggles

No well done cloud blue flames of kick ass cause nightfalls were harder back then Also forever 29s and forever 31s as well as good Ole high impact Auto rifle meta. Field scout actually increasing mag size and being able to snipe through walls

I disagree with 4 and 10. I joined at the end of Y1, but I got kicked from Crota multiple times because I didn't have and exotic Rocket Launcher, I have been kicked from Kingsfall for not having Black Spindle or Touch of Malice. As for 10, I was so hyped for Rise of Iron.
