If you are content with Bungie's display over the past two years/UNCONDITIONALLY love the game, then you have no reason to post here. Aiming to see reasonable conversations (no blind hate/fanboysm). Doesn't mean you can't post ANY thoughts you have. Only trying to keep things civilized (agree/disagree all you want).
With the upcoming sequel, it seems that the player-base is divided AGAIN. Some want their progress to carry over as Bungie promised, others don't mind a completely fresh start. Personally, i believe they would fully erase the layered mess they created if they could.
Here's where the pre-ordering played a major part in this. If the vanilla didn't give them the head start they had, i can assure you this complete overhaul would have happened much earlier/around the time of TTK. Don't think i need to explain how much better this would have been for the franchise.
Now its obvious that the current numbers aren't cutting it otherwise they would have continued to appease to whats left of the player-base (why completely throw away what worked, IF it worked).
But once again they're breaking another promise like ever-verse to AGAIN adapt to the new messy situation. Apparently their main focus is to reach out for new players for a sequel to actually work. Keep in mind they cant even dream of vanilla preordering numbers at this point (faaaaaaaaaar from it). That means clearing the bad blood, pretend as if the first game never happened and start over.
So how about it guys ?? Can we please let them EARN their following this time around ?? And also do NOT jump into conclusions. Lets see where they take this. Would love to hear more thoughts on the matter.
This for anyone who have little to no info on the sequel http://kotaku.com/sources-destiny-2-coming-to-pc-aims-to-feel-like-a-to-1787153460 also research more on the matter for yourself, thats always better.

1 RespuestaI would be happy to see them start from scratch. I will probably pre order because I, being one person, wont affect the system. My friends will probably play right at release, and I want to join them I do not agree with micro-transactions, and the BS they told us about it funding "future content" which has yet to make its appearance. (Festival of the Lost; SRL and the April update were all before micro transactions) I think the business side of gaming, has ruined the experience.

2 RespuestasTo be fair the company that is producing Destiny (Activision) makes call of duty games and we know how they try to get the most money out of their games as possible. So the micro-transaction stuff doesn't really surprise me. Also I've been somewhat skeptical of kotaku and such websites in the past due to misinformation and assumptions on their part. I think we all need to wait and see what Bungie/Activision says in the future and stay hopeful that they will come up with a way to please everyone with Destiny 2

1 RespuestaBut I already preordered Gears of War 4. Can't wait till Oct 7!

7 RespuestasWhat "promise" did they break with eververse?? So far it's been exactly what they said it would be and it's paid for EXACTLY what they said it would

Where's the tl:dr?
The spookiest (and luckiest) seven you will ever meet

But once again they're breaking another promise like ever-verse
Elaborate with this, please. To the remainder of your post, the game in it's current state is (ultimately) a complete overhaul from what vanilla was. To that point, it's still not perfect. In the vanilla version (and all through Y1) there was no real longevity to the leveling process, certainly not enough groundwork to cover a full "10 year plan". They've made a few strides in the appropriate direction, but that system (as I've already stated) still has much room for improvement. We're getting to a point where we have to make a decision that is best for the "10 year plan" moving forward. Do we continue to limp along with our current characters that we've come to love, or do we start fresh with an entirely new game that has what it takes to make it for the remainder of the decade and then fall in love with that? I'm normally a fan of cutting the dead weight loose, but it's entirely too early to tell what the next title will be like. The rumors about starting new have pretty well stemmed from (from what I've seen and researched) a commentary piece written by one of Forbes' writers that several other sites jumped on and re-published as a semi-true piece of information instead of the wild speculation that it was. There's no reason to assume at this point that Bungie has ANY plans to reset progress and have the players start fresh with the sequel. In either route, I'm still a fan of the game and I'm 99.99999% certain that I'll be playing Destiny 2, which means that I'll be buying it. It also means that if there is some sort of pre-order bonus, the aforementioned information should tell you that I'll probably be getting the bonus. Another point that you didn't discuss is what happens to the PS exclusive stuff when it's finally released (which appears to be right around the release of Destiny 2) to Xbox if they DO decide to do a fresh start? What's the purpose of grinding away for that stuff if there's no need for it?

5 RespuestasBecause kotaku is such a reliable source for information.....

4 RespuestasThis isn't a knock on you, but you do realize that kotaku was to blame for the uproar about dlc being free, right? They are also banned by Bethesda, and some other companies for "leaks" that turned out to be false. They also "leaked" things that companies didn't want to make public. The only magazine that I would trust right now is Game Informer... Only because they had the inside scoop on RoI. Even then, I don't fully trust them. Hell, I don't trust Bungie half of the time. Point is... Don't jump to conclusions unless it's a known fact. Assumptions have put this community into an uproar... 3 major assumptions come to mind... IB bounties would carry over to RoI, DLC would be free (started by kotaku), and yr2 PS4 exclusives would be on Xbone for RoI. None of this was actually said. People read what they wanted, and believed everybody but Bungie. I don't believe it until I see it. Until then, none of us know what is actually going to happen.

Pre-ordering does nothing for the game besides letting the stakeholders know there is a possible interest in their game. That's like saying setting something to record on TV changes the shows ratings.

Considering I have gotten my money's worth from the vanilla game and every single expansion that has dropped so far, I have no reason not to preorder. As far as entertainment value goes, Destiny has given me the best bang for my buck aside from my console itself. I may disagree with many decisions they have made along the way but that doesn't mean I still don't enjoy the game every time I load it up. So yeah, I'll preorder as soon as it's available. I also don't jump to conclusions based on a Kotaku article until Bungie actually confirms anything themselves. And I really couldn't care less if they restart the game from scratch. As much as I'd like my guardian to carry over, I am completely fine with them restarting as well. I'll just remake a new character and carry on.

3 RespuestasPre-ordering every DLC and new release. Would pre-order them all now if i could. Have a great day!

7 RespuestasThe thing you have to understand, is most people don't care about the majority of the problems you have. I don't care if "bungie lied" about this or that, i don't care about 10 year plans, about carrying characters or gear into an entirely new game, etc etc. If there's a decent enough reason to pre-order, i probably will, cos i've really enjoyed Destiny 1. In addition, i'm open to being proved wrong but i don't think pre-orders will make much difference to the outcome of a game. I'd suspect D2 is already well underway, by the time you're able to pre-order it i'd imagine it'll be essentially finished.

1 RespuestaI think this time around they're trying to deliver the game they envisioned. I'm interested to see what they've came up with... Destiny was a new type of hybrid and I think they may have figured out how to approach it, we'll see. Hopefully they will release some official news, trailers, and gameplay soon. I like the idea that they have help from another company this time too.
-
1 RespuestaI just wait and buy it second hand
-
1 RespuestaOk... But only cause you said please.
-
1 RespuestaTelling people to not comment if they like the game ain't the best way to start off. If people want to pre-order thats on them, clearly enough people still like Destiny enough to give it good numbers even with flaws.

9 RespuestasI would be glad to get a new start. Most games don't let you carry over progress. Also, they have a new CEO, and things have changed. Remember when we weren't supposed to get a dlc after TTK? Well, that fell through. Noone knows anything yet, it's all just speculation. You also have to remember... They dropped old gen. The possibilities are endless now. People can say that they won't buy it, and they may not... But, until we get some actual footage, those people don't know if they will or won't buy it. For all we know, there could be more content coming.

3 RespuestasEditado por JoeMamasfat: 9/30/2016 7:42:21 AMLike I did with Destiny, I will not be picking it up day one. I didnt buy Destiny until just before TDB. Pre-orders hurt the video game market. Not only that, but the used game market as well. The retailer gets 100% of profit off of used games. Thats why your local GameStop (or whatever else) may push used copies at one point or another. Used games make them more money than new copies. Im sure Destiny was hit by this pretty hard with TDB. It was probably cheaper to buy Destiny used and drop the money for the DLC, rather than buying the game new with DLC. Obviously. As they released more DLC, it would be cheper for new players to buy it new. As with the TTK edition or the new RoI copy. If Bungie wants to be smart about this, they will do digital dpwnload only. Not that jt would matter with me on PC with Steam and what not.

6 RespuestasBut why shouldn't I pre order something that I know I will have fun with? I played Destiny for a pretty long time and had fun with it despite the flaws that game has, so I think that this preordering concept is just comfortable because of automatic download and installation of the game. Due to my job I'm travelling all around the world and then it is so great when I come home and see that everything is ready to play without me remembering the release date. And to be realistic: If there wasn't a preordering option, the people would stand in the shops early in the morning on release day, which causes the exact same problem you're describing. Don't get me wrong, you probably should never preorder a game, when you're not sure about it (man I still am angry about preordering Watchdogs...), but when you know that you're going to like it, go ahead.

8 RespuestasI've enjoyed every expansion and have got my money's worth from it. I will continue to pre order. I would pre order destiny 2 right now if I could.
