GameStop digital preorder just SCAMMED US
My boyfriend and I each digitally preordered Destiny Rise of Iron from Gamestops website. It said they'd email you the download code on the 19th and here came the day of that, we got our code, we put it in on the Xbox marketplace.. It turned out to be just 30$ Microsoft credit... And you CANT BUY RISE OF IRON ON THE XBOX MARKETPLACE ANYWHERE FOR 30$ YOU CAN ONLY BUY THE 60$ COLLECTOR BUNDLE?? What the hell is this GameStop?? Did anyone else preorder this way what do we do????? There's no way for us to use that 30$ to preorder it anywhere and the GameStop site said we were PREORDERING DESTINY RISE OF IRON not ordering 30$ Microsoft points. WHAT IS THIS????
EDIT: [u]STOP [/u] telling me to go search it up on the marketplace and select the preorder, I've already done that before I even posted and it's [u]not available for purchase anymore[/u]
EDIT 2: When you guys say to look it up on the marketplace and order it there, the one you guys are talking about has been removed, it says you can no longer pre order from the marketplace as its RoI is unavailable now.
EDIT 3: I tried buying RoI through Destiny themselves, my boyfriends went through but mine keeps getting stuck at an error code saying "QUERY FAILED-" I even tried signing in on his Xbox and buying it but no go. Why does life hate me today

If you own the taken King. You have to go through the game map and press on the icon to purchase rise of iron. Has to be done while you're taken King is running.

8 RespuestasIf you happened to 'panic' like I did when Xbox did not have it avail. for pre-order, and did it thru gamestop here's the deal. You will get a $30 code to redeem for your xbox live account, just depositing money into it. This will not pre-order the game for you. You must then log into Destiny, select "destination" then the Rise of Iron yellow symbol. It will give you an option to open further information by pressing A again. Then it will give you the option to pre-order the expansion and tell you that you have $30 avail. for the purchase. This is the ONLY way to pre-order, the Microsoft website says that Rise of Iron is only avail. in the full $59.99 bundle and does not have just the $29.99 expansion as an option. Trust me, I just spent 35mins with Microsoft support on the phone.

Crap. It is gone. The moment I got my code I was able to use it. I thought "great Gamestop points & Microsoft / Xbox points!" I won't do it again just for the reason op posted. I was lucky.

1 RespuestaSet your Xbox as his home Xbox. This way you can atleast play rise until you get this sorted out. He will be able to play the dlc on any console so long as he signs in. This is what my wife and I do.

The preorder is still there, use the Xbox app on your smartphone, search for destiny and scroll down.

2 RespuestasI was having the exact same problem; however I did find a fix for it. I went through GameStop and it did the same thing for me, a $30 gift card. Which is false advertisement; but also not the issue this forum is trying to solve. If use the search function through the X1 Store interface and search "Rise of Iron" make sure to type it out completely, there should be two options. The first option (on the left) is the one that is part of the $60 bundle. The second (right) is the independent pre-order that you can now use your redeemed GameStop $30 credit for. Why did GameStop handle it that way? Why is it when you try to find RoI on the Destiny X1 page it only bring you to the bundle? I have no idea. But at least now you and your boyfriend won't feel like you wasted your money. -Hydro Snail

Gotta love people who rage on forums before simply looking on their own. Look up "rise of iron"in the game search bar and the second result will be "rise of iron preorder" its the $29.99 one that only cones with dlc and gjallarhorn stuff. Its still avaolable

I literally just bought the Pre-order from the XBox Store. Funny thing is that I got the preorder at GameStop so now I have the pre-order bonus from pre-ordering today and I have codes for the bonuses from the GameStop pre-order. So, one of my friends is in luck.

Try looking at the bottom of the RoI page on the Xbox store, you shud find the preorder there.
