I agree, this is exactly what they are gonna do for spring, spend next 6 months having everything from year 1-3 relevant or usable and then bam! On to Destiny 2 which means and I'm sincerely hoping, all new content as in all new places as in keep our characters and all of our shit and toss us in a completely new game that totally makes up for not giving us what Destiny 1 should have been.

I agree, but I hope we lose all of the D1 stuff. I've used these guns for long enough, I'm tired of looking at the same armor, ships & sparrows are lazily designed - kill them. When D2 comes, there had better not be a single thing leftover from D1. It's lazy, shows a lack of creative ability, and who the -blam!- wants to play with the same shit for 5+ years?
