eavesdropping at local gameshop
A kid asked the clerk, "i heard that Destiny sucks, does Destiny suck?"
After a short pause one of the two clerks replied, "yes, yes it does suck."
Initially it bothered me, considering that currently Destiny is the only game I play (and Ive been playing video games for 30 years).
After a while I realized that the clerk answered appropriately. That kid was pretty obnoxious, and I hope that I would never have to watch his guardian dancing on my screen while i wait for respawn.

i understand that whatever one's intentions are when posting in a forum, they are largely irrelevant.
given that, i'd just like to state explicitly what my intentions were.
i was able to justify not speaking up when overhearing someone say that Destiny sucks by attributing the clerk's statements to a desire to play with a potentially more mature demographic.
i also included a statement refering to dancing on my screen to elucidate my opinions on dancing in destiny. i dont see the point. i think that bungie could put the d-pad to better use, with more utility.

I'd say that it's pretty mocked outside the active player base, to the point that I - for shits and giggles - frequently tell streamers who arent streaming Destiny to go play it - just to get the flame reaction from chat. In terms of competitive FPS it's a joke and I don't see private matches changing that. The only way a serious FPS'er would play MLG Destiny is if Bungie forks up a giant prize pool and Halo pros swoop in to grab it - and it would be easy money for them. Break out the red panties, honey.

It made me appreciate developers who are quick to patch their game and listen and respond to the community, and it made me appreciate developers who don't just use copy and paste when making new armor and weapons. And it made me dislike bungie in more ways than one.

17 RespuestasDestiny doesn't suck, the lack of content, constant meta changes and nerfs for us veteran players sucks. If someone were to buy the game today there is a ton of story missions and leveling to do, so for newer players is would be amazing.

33 RespuestasI tried to dislike Destiny. I even tried other games. No matter how long I walk away from Destiny, I always come back. I always get enjoyment from playing. I haven't even collected all Fragments or defeated Oryx on Hard Mode. I have never been to the Lighthouse. I mostly play solo, just out of a fear of disappointing or letting down a squad. Even after all of this, I still have fun playing Destiny. It genuinely competes with any other game title. I'll probably always play Destiny as long as my character transfers forward. Week one player, I just wish I could have been in the alpha or beta.

I can see how outsiders might think this game is ridiculous and stupid...but I know that our community has found something awesome and I'm kind of glad Destiny has its own niche crowd

I've loved Destiny since day1. I've hated Destiny for months at a time at the end of every DLC. I currently hate Destiny. On 9/20 I expect I'll love Destiny 1 for the last time.
